I'm concerned that my gym won't be able to get all the rewards in this upcoming gym challenge. Last time we just BARELY managed to get the third cookie and, while we have some new members, I think most of them are filthy casuals.

If there are any /vp/ gyms that have empty spaces and/or are willing to kick out some people who don't log in/do their part please let me know and reserve a spot for me (I can't request to join for 24h after I leave a gym and I absolutely do not want to risk leaving a gym without a guarantee I'll be able to join one before the event starts in a couple of days).

In the Sonia/Perrin academy event, they are working for teh student newspaper covering an upcoming "academy fair". In the fair the students are hosting attractions. they are:

(1) The "band" attractrion, where the hosts (im assuming Roxie Piers and Ryuki) will encourage participants regardless of their skills to come up on stage to perform with them.

(2) The cafe attraction, where they just serve food there. (I'm assuming hosted by Lillie and the Trainbros, probably not Sonia since she's covering it for the newspaper). Arven joins this attraction as a staff member in the story. Darach is also confirmed to be there.

(3) The haunted house attraction, where Hex Maniac (I think) and characters dressed in halloween alts encourage participants to get scared in a haunted house.

This is what I got based on reading the datamined text. You vote for which attraction is the most appealing I guess. There's no data yet on what exactly happens for the attraction that wins.

I don't know that there's any pattern in particular, it's just kind of weird, especially since >>59112906 shows that a lot of the events featuring the dark and fairy units aren't the top events by the community. Not a single Marnie event charts while Kabu and Bede's debut events do, the top Lillie event is the one with SC Lillie (yes, holiday Lillie came out after this poll occurred but they're still using it because they reran the events in September), two trainmen events and the second Unova NC event rank above the one N event which is for base N rather than summer N, Volo and Adaman/Irida's event both rank above Cynthia's one event (this is another situation where the unit ran after the poll ended though), neither of the Hoenn events feature Wally, and a Morty event ranks well above Silver's.

I blew him away with Lance and Red to save myself the time and effort. I used to enjoy figuring out low investment or F2P teams to clear extreme battles but most of the conditions became insufferably gay unit checks or spam of status or evasion or weather that it stopped feeling like a fun doable puzzle.

I can't think of a way to beat that without at bare minimum limited holiday or Pokefair dragon units. Having SS Brendan and minimum someone with dragon zone would help. Ryuki is probably good enough for the attacker since you really only need to a sync nuke twice. But he requires some investment like Hugh with normal.

Academy Perrin and Sonia kits look so basic that it hurts, like "early-game seasonal unit kit" bad. Providing the most basic of perks, lackluster grids, questionable passives. I haven't seen descriptions for B-moves as short as Sonia's in a long ass time. Sonia providing Steel Zone is the only good thing that makes her stick out. As someone with a 5/5 Giovanni + Nidoking I am glad that we get the Guzzlord one. From this list I don't own Lillie, N, Cynthia, or Giovanni so I'm getting quite a few new pairs. There have been tons of them.
Each one of them aside from the second set has easily been among the best of their types. And within the second set, Morty at minimum still provides a valuable niche for burns.

There's something wrong with this fight, I noticed that if he uses critical hit next, the damage popup may sometimes not show up as critical, but still deal critical damage. However, it also sometimes can show up as critical, and deal even more damage. The first time around he oneshot my Juliana with his NP from full health and through +6sp.def. The second time around she survived with 30% health.

For me the batch that started with Blue feel like characters important for the game history. Blue was the first 5 stars outside the day one genpool, he is now the new Whitney when you pull after the tutorial. Brock and Misty are the first units you unlock. I think Korrina was in the first ones to get a grid and 6EX plus her and Sabrina were good units at release. Iris also is part of the game history, thanks to her we now are flooded with so many Breaking Swipe Dragons that debuffer became the type identity plus Haxorus was good for the villa when it was a thing, both mon deserve it in some way. It's the same for Rosa, the game mascot, its kind of obvious she will be the grass type Arc Suit.
Of course I can be wrong and maybe it's just 'Let's throw popular characters for the money" or it's a mix of the two but that's how I feel about them.

I wouldn't be surprised if they slowed down with the Kanto pandering until the 7th anni, it was the big 30th Anniversary, GF released FRLG and Pokopia which takes place in Kanto, Dena had reason to follow suit and overdose on Kanto, they were most likely directed to and also wanted to market off of it too.
I don't really see how it can end, other than revealing the reason Arceus is giving his power out is because of a bigger looming threat that gets revealed at the end and flows into a new arc all about the threat, or it just abruptly ends with Volo being the problem (even though its clear that he didn't cause the distortions this time around, unless they backpedal on that) and Arceus says "thanks kids" before peace-ing out.

Esuine wasn't able to do enough damage quickly enough even with 4 sync buffs. I was able to get it done with Archie, May, and SS Blue but it required leveling Archie to 180.
I think you are either underestimating him or overestimating my other water pairs. He's obviously been powercrept and is obviously weaker than NC May and Arc Misty (and probably NC Serena and Dojo Gloria) but he's still pretty potent at high investment.

My mistake, I thought you were the same anon who made the initial team recommendation.
I did set things up such that it was Charizard who used the sync and then I was able to get Pikachu down before a second sync. My SS Blue is only 3/5 so I also didn't get the teamwide vigilance which probably would have made things easier but I was able to get a good amount of forcefield boosts. I also slotted in propulsion on Hydro Cannon and I think it procced once.
As long as Kyogre survives the initial sync you're golden. Blue giving teamwide Endure helps out a lot and once you are at the Pikachu, Lapras, and Snorlax stage you can make sure that they all use single target attacks pretty well.

Esuine is great when taking out sidemons or teams that are all roughly equal in life but struggles with single target damage on 'boss' type opponents. He's a fantastic secondary DPS though because against three opponents he can flinch and his moves are essentially free. I like him a lot but he wasn't great here.

I don't know how you're supposed to do the arc fight without arc Alder. Even with him he does barely any super effective damage. I can't imagine how painfully slow or outright impossible it is without him or a heavily invested overpowered unit.

Thanks DeNa for the 3/5 arven, got to stage 29 with him + 3/5 ex Marnie, 2/5 Akari and 3/5 NC Marnie as only limiteds, albeit the last Phys only stage took a while

The pic I posted is the 29th stage, whigh is status/interference.
I just used triple Marnie from stage 23-26-29, tcg Marnie has offensive debuffs, gauge, sync cd and team speed buffs + she maxes the master and ex pf passives

Gotta add that I did have to bring the tcg Marnie to 160 to survive -3 spa sync for stage 29, and the other two to 200 to deal enough damage before Diantha just wiped with dazzling gleam, since all 3 units are fairy weak and stage 29 is "oops, all fairy moves!"
I'm also a skill gear autist so...

Btw I just realized NC calem has team endure and flabbergast 4 so he COULD be an option if you want to, I've seen a couple replays using him in stages 26 and 29

Actually ridicolous as it sounds, We could get Chase and Elaine as Pikachu and Eevee.
Instead of Red and something to do with Arceus.

I like the idea of Agatha and Oak for Ghost and poison, can definetly see that happening, but this leaves out Ice.
If only Dena didn't already make Silver And Ho-oh we could have gotten Him and Sneasel, but now I think the only plausible would be Lorelei.
I mean they made Misty and brock (training under Lorelei and Bruno) Lance already has an arc suit thanks to being a champion, IF we are right about Agatha and Oak, I would see plausible Bruno and Lorelei eventually, so we got the KANTOOOOOOOOOO E4 and Champion all done,

Grass and Ice will definitely be Adaman and Irida
