They have the same problem mono restricted formats have; you're building your team around a centerpiece and the centerpiece is from a small list of actually viable options. In a bad matchup you either play uphill and bring your mega into a hard fight, or you don't and are down your strongest Pokemon. Duel mega sort of fixes that, but then it limits your general purpose options because two megas have anti-synergy with each other because you can't bring both mons to the same battle unless you commit to playing one without an item. The lack of good items now doesn't alleviate that as something is still better than nothing.

Rough Skin really only matters for breaking sash or in the Garchomp mirror assuming you have no bulk and are using Dragon Claw. Do you guys spam your recruit tickets when you get em or only when the timer is free? I'm guessing it's best to save tickets when you have 1 or 2 solid teams so you can roll for the next additions?
>>59223587I use sand veil and brightpowder, and even the amount of incidental rock slides my chomp dodges makes it worth it to take away the flinch chance. A lot of spread moves are lower accuracy, so he dodges a lot of chip damage, as well as having the odds of a game winning dodge, which do happen. It's like playing against opponents who are all paralyzed; your win rate will statistically go up.
