Can I get out of Ultra with this team?https://pokepast.es/0ec4816e047e464d
is there a discord for the sand freaks? I feel like people have been jamming ttar exca and pressing rock slide for over a decade at this point and should have some insights. I'm looking for the most 50/50 matchup shit in the universe. I want to run the potato salad of teams just all good stuff and fundamentals
>>59235924>no protectsProbably not
>>59235924No.Protect should be on at least 3 mons.
>>59235924Is this for singles?
>>59235930>>59235931But it's for singles
>>59235938I don't know what a good singles team looks like.
Last thread >>59231688
>>59235888By the way, something that surprised me and should be corrected in the OP, the starter pack doesn't include 30 quick coupons but 30 teammate tickets which is much better.
Shit Game
Do you try to avoid playing in ways that could be considered lame or unfun for the opponent?
>>59235965Lame or unfun for me, yes. I don't care if it's lame or unfun for opp (opp means opponent)
>>59235965No. You are playing to win. That is the entire point of the game. Who cares that some random japanese child may get angry at your strategy.
>>59235965Hell no. If they aren't having fun, then im having more fun.I wont purposefully drag games out with pure stall though thats just boring
>>59235965No. The exact opposite, actually.
>>59235965I tried to and all I got are Sneaslers and Milotics in return. They don't deserve my efforts.
Is the ranked battle daily cleared by forfeiting or do I have to go through the whole battle?
>>59235965Most of those playstyles, I'm not very good at anyway. I tried Perish Trapping before and I'm a brainlet
>>59236041You can just show up and forfeit, yes.
okay but what if support galladecoaching and life dew
>>59235965A little bit, but some of that is for my own health too.Early format sun teams were basically just Charizard+Venu aiming to just sleep powder everything. I don't like relying on 75 acc moves even if it forces my opponent to respect it.
>>59236114Sounds trash. Gallade is hella frail and not nearly fast enough for a support set to work well.
>>59236114He was already played as a half support mon in SV with Trick Room and Wide Guard.
>on a losing streak with PerishtrapIt really sucks when people know how to play around it. Where do I even go from Perishtrap?
About 250k people participating in the global challenge, is this a healthy amount or no? Alive game?
>>59236182Just replace perish song with disable on gengar and watch your winrate immediately improve. It's not worth going through all these hoops to kill with perish when you already have a 170 spatk mega.
The next big thing? You know it's gotta be Special Attack Infernape.
>>59236210Scarf/Sash Ape lowkey probably does go bananas into certain comps. I've even considered going a bulky set for fast Will-O's.
>>59236217>Fake Out>Will-O-Wisp>Encore>CoachingWe must return to monke.
>>59236184That's really good for a Global Challenge because nobody signed up for those fucking things in SWSH or SV. (which also had the additional issue of needing you to lock your team in in advance)
>>59236184I didn't bother to enter since there's basically no reward for participating. At least the warm up tourney gave out some tickets
Altaria will carry me to masters in doubles at this rate. Also, gotta say, as a singles fag for the longest time, doubles is pretty fun.
>>59236262You get a venusaur for playing 3 games

Taking a question from >>59235700How would you rebalance the missing starters before they are added to Champions?>Sceptile + Mega>Blaziken + Mega>Swampert + Mega>Rillaboom>Cinderace>Inteleon
>>59236326>lightning rod mega sceptileThey can never fix my boy, but draco meteor and spore is a good start

Removing either Fake Out or U-Turn from it's movepool would be a start.>CinderaceDitto Blaziken, let it have it's place in Singles>InteleonMake it a coverage and spread move monster. Give it Snarl/Night Daze, Sludge Bomb and Wave, Thunderbolt/Discharge, Rock Slide, etc. For a Pokemon that's supposed to be a walking Swiss-army knife with all of it's anatomy-turned-tools (nictitating membrane as scope, tail frill as knife, gliding membrane) it's movepool is disgustingly shallow
>>59236210Ehhhhh
>>59235965No, that's exactly why I play.
>>59236326Sceptile got Shed Tail and Swampert got Liquidation and Bulk Up since the last time they had megas.

>>59235965I run into someone trying to run hazards/forced switchout moves with dragon tail mega dragonite spamming roost. But every single time I see a hippo I just taunt it on principal. All it ever does is support slop.

>>59236576pikachu, alolan ninetails, whimsicott, ceruledge, dragonite and lopunny
How bad will things be when Chien and Chi enter the game with megas
>>59236586No, I meant post the actual team list in-game with the sets. That team isn't great but you could probably get to Master pretty decently off the back of D-Nite, Tailwind Whimi, and Aurora Ninetails.
>>59236585You don't have to directly replace each mon with a similar one. The starter teams aren't built to be functional balanced teams, it's just a handful of 6 freebies.
>>59236545 (Me)I now realize how much worse my opponent screwed up than I did: his other mon was Sinistcha and for whatever reason he didn't Rage Powder me in the 2v1.

>>59236585Try and get a primarina and sinistcha. Btw slyveon is actually pretty good right now. Stick a fairy wing on it and those hyper voices are chunking anything not 4x resisted

>>59236591I think this team would work better in singles maybe
>>59236617archaludon is nobodys favorite

>>59236618Nice adamant Pikachu
>>59236618Lewd.
>>59236618>adamant pikachu with full spatk>no lightning rod
>>59236618Your big hitters all lack any defensive merit without Protect. One or two of them without it could work, but your carries being forced to go all in and or die immediately puts you at a disadvantage when running down turns of an opponents weather, TR, Tailwind or just mind-gaming your opponent. Also, you have a lot of redundant coverage or unwieldy moves you really would be better off without, imo. Such as Hypnosis on Ninetails, T-Punch and Aerial Ace on D-Nite, and Psycho Cut on Ceruldge. Replace Draining Kiss on Ninetails and Hypnosis for Moonblast/Aurora Veil. Nine is far too weak offensively and defensively to make good use of Kiss. If you're trying to go all in on Ceruledge most games, you might want to consider Focus Sash just to ensure you'll always get at least one Weak Armor off. Personally, I think you might have to use Swords Dance too since it's just a little too low attack wise to get some crucial KO's on most things. T-Punch of D-Nite isn't the worst thing, but barring one-shotting Pelipper, Dragon Claw would fulfill the same person 99% of the time on whatever you're trying to hit it with it anyway. Aerial Ace is just outright ass, replace it with Protect or E-Speed to finish off weakened mons. Some of your EVs and natures are wack as shit too. There's zero reason Lopunny should have max HP over speed or Pikachu being Adamant over Modest/Timid.
>>59236630>>59236634I messed up the nature. My thinking was that I don't encounter too much electric types to justify lighting rod...but now I realize I would work against electro shot archaludon...

>>59236184The ones in SwSh and SV used to max out close to that number, but usually only early in a game's lifespan, so it suggests that, for people interested in competitive, Champions is as exciting as a new game, but for Pokemon fans as a whole, not too many new people jumped into competitive (beyond the slow consistent growth we've seen all the Switch era games).

>>59235965>Baited out 11 japsNice work
>>59237060The problem isn't your team, it's hard Trick Room. It's a very rigid, flow-charty strategy. It's great for beginners to learn the basics and ladder, and for crushing other beginners, but against higher level opponents, they'll see your linear game plan and know how to counter it. You're, at best, banking on hard reads and 50/50s, and even if you win those, you can still lose to your opponent going for a double protect on the last turn of TR and then reverse sweeping you 2v4 after TR ends. Trick Room works best when it's treated like speed control, like Tailwind. Something you set up if your current Pokemon underspeed your opponent's current Pokemon; not something you build your entire team around.
Azumarill is the fucking grim reaper in BSS
>>59235888okay, I need THE premier archaludon killer, I keep seeing this fucker every game
>>59236794>ask a question about video games>get answer about cuck pornmaybe take a break from the net lil bro
I sorta feel bad for my Baton Pass Espathra but then I think about giving it Psychic Terrain over Dazzling Gleam.
>>59237279Should you not ever use super slow things, just mid tier speed mons with tailwind and TR?
I ran into an Agility/Cotton Guard Lopunny into M-Garde with Stored Power that made me laugh. (Mirror Coated it with Milotic)
>>59237353as someone who plays it, just double into it with special super effective damage. char y with scorching sands/venu with earth power/aura sphere on whatever. archaludon is the heart and soul of every team that has it, take it down with pressuring special super effective damage and you win.
Im enjoying vgc, but is it weird to say that theres not enough “good pokemon” in this game? You have options but they feel limited. Some pokemon are real bad and seriously have no utility
>>59237415Which ones? Shitmons survive more in Doubles because spread moves halve the damage taken. Also you can full invest in bulk and defences if it's pure support.Look at Sableye's stats lmao. It doesn't usually get targeted and downed on turn 1 though.
>>59237353He has 65 Special defense. Even neutral special moves can chip him for 30% damage. Just make sure he's not in the rain.
>>59237415There's not enough good pokemon that fulfill specific roles.Like sinistcha is the only mon with trick room and rage powder, but then it also gets hospitality, a signature spread move that can burn and heal and way better stats than it deserves because why not. The other redirectors just don't stack up to that in terms of general usability. There's plenty of good mons that are just designed to do damage though for example
>>59237415If you add more "good" pokemon to the game then all it'll do is push the others down. Every meta, without exception, centralizes around only a handful of pokemon. Besides, we're most likely getting more pokemon next season anyway. Probably the rest of the missing megas too.
>>59237415There's really not many genuinely useless Pokemon in the game, lots of uncommon Pokemon still have niches that make them usable with the right team building.
Rock Slide needs a nerf so bad. Take away its flinch and give it 80 BP and 100 Accuracy.
>>59237526Or you know, just wait for covert cloak to come back
I feel like I'm back in ultra ball 2 in masters 1800 some of the fucking teams are just insane
>>59237534I'm at 1797 rn. Unfortunately I have a trick room team and a lot of people lead Gambit and Aerodactyl into Sneasler and Farigiraf. Fortunately I put ally switch on Farigiraf lol.Unfortunately again, trick room doesn't last long enough.Fortunately, Golurk can hit through protect and make more of the turns than anything else.
>>59237538I just fought a trick room team and I turned a free win into a loss cause I forgot to taunt the giraffe AHHHHHHHHHH
>I lead sableye>I click willowisp>If they protect they get encored next turn>I win the gameFor the love of god guy bring some special attackers. I can't handle these free wins
>>59235965No. You aren't playing against people you know, you're playing against faceless nobodies as a faceless nobody, go as busted and as annoying as you want.
>>59236486You can click scarf leaf storm, electroweb, or volt switch
>yesterday>14-4 with a 10 win streak>today>go 6-12 with a 7 loss streak in my first 10 games>one of my losses was to THREE consecutive rock slide flinches in the first three turns of a game>another was to a last turn dire claw para proc into full paraI should have quit when I was ahead.
>>59236520Because ghost type is broken as fuck offensively
>>59237572covert cloak can't come soon enough kek
>>5923752680BP 100ACC no flinch would be a buff. It should be 10% flinch chance with the same 75BP and 90ACC.
>>59237575It's ridiculous it was cut for M-A. Like I understand cutting the choice items and life orb and assault vest; they want a low power format. But purely defensive items like the cloak? The only good argument I've heard is they want this reg to be "beginner friendly" and a beginner not knowing why Fake Out sometimes fails to flinch might be confusing, but you know what? Just have the item notification pop up the way sash or safety goggles does. Instead of>Pokemon flinched and couldn't move!>Pokemon was protected by its Covert Cloak!
>>59237369No, super slow Pokemon have their place. Look at Kinggambit, Torkoal, Amoongus, Sinistcha, or Iron Hands. They can deter your opponent from setting up TR. They can be a TR option for you if you see your opponent has a fast, frail hyper offense team. They can also support your other Pokemon. And they can even just sit on your bench while your faster Pokemon come to a battle in a matchup that would be bad for them. The big take away is don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you were making a rain team you wouldn't bring six Pokemon that ONLY worked if it was raining, right? So don't do that with Trick Room.
>>59237421>halve75%
>>59237589If you don't want to get flinched then maybe invest in some speed control friendo
>>59237589Putting in Cloak would've been a huge mistake, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if GF regretted making it in the first place with how little counterplay there is to it.
>>59237643Buddy this is the same company that made last respects and gave it to a mon with adaptability.
>>59237644Basc is also a mistake, but a much more manageable one as it's the only Pokémon worth running with Last Respects, and there's counterplay against it. Cloak just outright makes Fake Out worthless and lets your opponent do their business unimpeded. It's not like Soundproof or Levitate where only a specific set of mons can have it; anything could have Covert Cloak.
>>59237655>it's the only Pokémon worth running with Last RespectsIt's literally the only Pokemon that GETS Last Respects aside from Houndstone who isn't even in the game.
Is Assault Vest Fluffy Houndstone a thing?
About to reach a new 100 mark ELO. Opponent gets two rock slide flinches in a row. Game is over.Bullshit.
>>59237595Are you advocating for the hybrid? So you have something with trick room as a move, as well as something with tailwind type thing?
>pulled shiny A-Raichuthis lad usable?
>>59237735With no electric terrain setter in the format? No.
>>59237736Even if there was a terrain setter, that just makes it fast, but doesn't fix the frail and weak part.
>My Feraligatr Double Edges into my opponent's Garchomp at 5 HP>both die>I still get the WWas it always like this? Thought it'd end as a draw
>>59237451>Besides, we're most likely getting more pokemon next season anyway.nohttps://champions.pokemon.com/en-us/gameplay/new mons aren't happening until the next ruleset (mid-june?)
>recruited a shiny DragapultHow do I build around him? I haven't played Pokemon since gen 5 but I really like this guy.
So we can't transfer pokemon to Champions, change their EVs and nature, then return them to our other game? That seems like a huge mistep.
>>59236761I'm running Sneasler and Tsareena minus Sinistcha
>>59237752You win because his mon died first.
>>59237769You can return them, they just won't have the stats that were changed in Champions due to the separate EV system
>>59237752It's based on whose HP hit 0 first. For example if you use Explosion to double KO, you still lose because Explosion drops your HP to 0 before going off.
>>59237780Oh that's a relief. Still a shame ae can't use Champions to manipulate stats. Seems like a nobrainer for them to get people to play Champions and spend VP.
>have M-Aggron on the field with 0 buff>use Heavy Slam on Ninetales that set up Snow>they switched out for Froslass>OHKO into a forfeitGuess M-Aggron fears no Snow team
>>59236326>>Sceptile + MegaWhich ability would be best for Sceptile?>Physical moves use the Special Attack stat in damage calculations (Still physical though)>Slicing moves hit twice, with the second hit at 50% power (Pre-nerf Parental Bond)One allows Sceptile to use its great physical movepool, the other is just very thematic.I do not see GameFreak ever adjusting Sceptile's stats unfortunately.
>>59236763>Now gets Soundproof instead of Grassy Surge.Way to completly kill Grassy Terrain as a mechanic and Rillaboom as a pokémon, retard. Glad you aren't balancing the games.
>>59237765Go to battle > battle data ingame and you can see the most popular builds for any mon
>>59237815Nevermind what that anon suggested, but Rillaboom is as unbalanced as Incin.Together the bara bros were way too centralizing. It was nice to have a way to stop Miraidons, but grassy terrain needs to be more widely distributed and not given to a mon with high base attack, fake out, and U-Turn. Too much utility not to be meta.
>Firigaraf surviving a double up from M Floette and ArchaludonIs there any way to kill this thing turn 1 before Trick Room goes up?
>>59237850Run light of ruin on your floette
>>59237835Incin has been balanced by removing knock off and u-turn and promoting a meta where lots of mons counter it (White Herb Sneasler, Kingambit, Milotic, Corvinight...). We'll see what they do with Rilla, but it won't be removing the n°1 reason people take it. At most, they'll take away a couple of moves like, idk, U-Turn or High Horsepower. Lack of Terastal also means Rilla can't just turn into a Fire mon and sit in front of Incineroar anymore.

>>59238052I do this but my team is off meta at least. I'm not bringing fucking kingambit basc peli arch teams to casual. I usually just do it after i swap a pokemon on my team and I just wanna give it a test run just to see if a theory has potential
I must have beat a super world champion while he was high on drugs/blackout drunk because my ELO does not match my knowledge of the game. I still Will o Wisp Amourage.
>>59238052I wish casual gave VP points, that would make it worthwhile to go try fun teams
>>59238079Casual should give points based on how little useage the pokemon you bring has. No points for sneaseler, max points for castformGive it a sensible cap though just to avoid pure shitter sandbagging vp farming teams
>>59238085That's what a company who isn't greedy would do lol.Should be in the weekly missions. Like "bring X into a casual battle and win".
>>59238052This happens to literally every single "casual mode" in any competitive video game ever. How are you retards still falling for this?
>>59238091How the hell is having an unranked mode greedy?
>>59238091I'm not gonna say gamefreak/nintendo aren't greedy, but champions could be so much worse in that department.I'm not even sure how its possible to run out of vp atm unless you constantly waste it on clothes and shit
>>59238085They should just have a Underrated Tier where you can only Pokemon below 50% usage in Ranked. It would be a nice change of pace and get people to use VP on shitmons.
>>59238105It's not, but they could reward VP for it. It would be fan friendly because you know people really like rollout milk drink miltank meme fights.>>59238110Rolling on the gacha game a lot because you keep getting shit and you don't pay for the extra home slots, and experimenting a lot. I've run out. Lol.
>>59238149I feel like it would be pretty difficult to have enough active mons to the point where you can't rotate mons back out through home. Are you just a complete scatterbrain or a giga vgc autist?
>>59238147>tier that bans nothing except maybe Sneasler
>Scarf Basculegion outspeeds Dragapult by 1 pointIt's one thing after another with this fucking fish
>SoulPolitoed, Ludicolo, Kingdra>SoullessPelipper, Basculegion, Archaludon
>>59238258You know what I mean, asshole. It doesn't have to be strictly 50%. Stop being autistic.
>>59238196Yeah I like making new things all the time.
I think I'm always going to be stuck between 1700-1900 elo. I wanted to try hard and climb to champion rank but that's not possible, it's probably never possible. Guess there isn't much incentive to play after reaching Master Ball I guess
>>59238370You can do it easily if you have severe enough autism. You can begin memorizing the speed tier of everything and their usual speed EVs, which if you have crippling autism should be something you can definitely do.
>>59236326Making sceptile a physical attacker is all it needs and nothing else
>>59237815Good, Rillaboom should be killed as a pokemon. Give Grassy Surge to something else.
>>59238342>Make a Trick Room Team with Torkoal/Farig/M-Golurk>Golurk dissapoints me>see that a M-Kanga did well on a tournament with a Brave Nature and Hammer Arm.>try it out>8 win streakSucks when it misses though, but getting what is essentially a "+2 Speed" in Trick Room is awesome.
>>59238370Unless you're a streamer or actual VGC competitor why would you ever want to enter the tier of actual autistics running spreadsheets and having calculators on hand for every battle? You could just play the game because it's fun to battle, man.
>>59238370I will be staying at 1800 for now, its too painful to keep climbing. Trying singles now
>>59238393People way overestimate how slow you need to be in TR, there’s no Amoongus to be an asshole you can use even middling speed Pokemon
Is it a good idea to carry a pokemon with aromatherapy to cure burns? For all the willowisps and scovillain
>>59238375>crippling autism>remembering a simple math equation and like 30 mons' base speed
>>59238441You're so smart, anon! (I'm telling you this because your parents never did.)
>>59238386That's not how GF thinks and you know it. Like it or not, Grassi Gorilla is here to stay.
Anyone get any good use out of the Meowstics? Is female preferred for potential competitive boosts?
>>59238495a lot of psychic megas are held back by no psychic surge users in the game.
>>59238495The mega is terrible. Ironically Meowstic's best use is being paired with Mega Alakazam for Prankster Psychic Terrain + Expanding Force.
I can't do the "win 3 games without losing a mon" weekly. I can't just demolish a toddler at this point because I'm not in Super Ball so I need to have someone ragequit after I get a good turn 1 and they just won't do it
>>59235888>tranny piccringe
>>59238511They should really change that mission, it only punishes you the higher you get
>>59238495Go full bulk and spam prankster yawn. The mega stinks.
>>59238495>megaNo. Mega Meowstic is completely and utterly outclassed by Mega Alakazam. There is no reason to use mega meow because of that. But its regular male form is still ok for setting screens and Psychic Terrain.
>>59238490Wow anon, really? You’re so smart. Are you going to tell me Gamefreak has a penchant for Charizard next?
I kinda wanna vent, but man basulegion is a really scrubby broken pokemon. It forces so many end game scenarios into 50/50s. >me and my opponent are on our final 2 Pokemon >opponent or i have basculegion>entire game suddenly boils down to if i click protect on the right pokemon>if bascu attacks the pokemon that uses protect, they lose. Otherwise they winlast respects is some low iq move design along with matcha gotcha
>>59238563It doesn’t help when they don’t run scarf and you lose pokemon to it assuming they’re scarfed on ladder. Incineroar can be good to prevent themselves from locking into last respects but if they run sitrus that plan is gone.
To the Game Freak Employee trying to push the shitty bridge dragon to being relevant, FUCK YOU
>>59238577I like how cancerous it is but fuck, you couldn’t have designed it better?
>>59238577You should thank the person who removed Body Press instead.
>>59238577They did it with Duraladon to by making him the Ace mon of the most popular character in Galar, somebody really wants this line to be popular lol
>>59238607That’s funny because that thing bombed out of the pokemon of the year results both when westerners were involved and when it was Japan-only. Maybe they thought turning it into a stapler with broken attributes would save it.
Is there any point to playing the game once you reach Master Ball rank in both Singles and Doubles?
>>59238668You've completed the tutorial. Now you are in the real ladder.
>>59238678Yeah but what do I get for playing the "real ladder", I only grind to Master Ball Rank for the extra box space, without that I really have no incentive to keep playing. Hopefully next season gives more box space for grinding.
Man it feels bad to have a near useless 2nd typing. Give Meganium some signature Fairy move that's boosted by Sun GF.It is funny to run Solar Beam/Weather Ball/Earth Power/Ancient Power at least.
>>59238686>playing only for extra box space>no intention of actually playing the game and utilizing the box spaceWhy even play the game at all
Should I quit if I lost a battle in Pokeball?
>>59238770No. You can still get dunked on by a real player if you haven't made a good team yet.
>>59238511At least it's only 24 recruit tickets
>>59238563It's a Last Respects problem
>every single team on ladder is just pelipper, basculegion, archaludon, sableye
>>59238577Imagine acting like being strong competitively = GF is trying to push it when Landorus has been a premier in each gen's meta at SOME point regardless of it's form despite never being popular with no effort on GF's part to change that and Rillaboom was by far the most neglected Gen8 starter merchandise-wise. Sneasler, Ursaluna, and Basculegion were all less pushed than H-Zoroark despite them being by far the strongest mons to come out of PLA.
>>59238794Glad I'm keeping the soul of this game alive with my Sneasler
>>59238794I like Klefki in Sableye's spot but the lack of Encore and WoW sucks
they should keep stats on shiny pokemonthere's shit like sableye, charizard and gengar where seeing a non-shiny one is rarer than facing somebody with a shiny but there's stuff like archaludon that are hardly ever shiny despite being common
>guess which 4 of the 30 useful moves I have!Sableye is cheating
>There has now been two separate cases of a single veteran player using a mon, which results in in catapulting into the spotlight as people bandwagon onto itLuhmao
>>59238808That reminds me, does anyone have a shiny Gengar they'd be willing to trade me? I love the way the mega looks.
>8/15 wins until I can get Mega FloetteZA Royale is so damn repetitive. Who even likes this game?
>>59238860I completed the ZA Royale shit over the course of, like, a month while also working towards the Shiny Charm. I rate ZA about 8/10 but I fully admit that it's repetitive postgame is the worst part about it.
>>59238860>shit game comes out>everyone tells you it's shit>(You) buy it anyway>game turns out to be, as expected, shit>"how could this be happening to me?"you deserve fecal scented misery and suffering
>>59238860Just use the berichan bot on twitch to trade you one
>>59238875Okay I'll admit I bought the game for access to mega evos and easy shinies. I didn't think trying to get Shiny Charm and going through ZA Royale would be mundane
>>59238860I liked it. I got my Floette before Champions was out too and I played the DLC. It's a bit repetitive but I had fun.
>>59238860Just gen one bro, save yourself the pain of having to play ZA.
>Youtuber cooks up the most cancerous thing they can think of>Makes a video on it>Infests the game until the new cancer comes alongIs this gonna be the game forever
Hit master ball in singles by abusing mega StarmieStill can't climb much in doubles
>>59238686>Yeah but what do I get for playing the "real ladder", https://youtu.be/tg2PD-dwsIwEl3_d-VkmacTVqfy
>>59238860Funniest part was pre-DLC when this quest was necessary for getting the shiny charmI actually haven't used my floette once yet
>>59238973I have the exact opposite problem.I have a decent elo in masterball in doubles, but struggling in great ball tier in singles.
I see the truth gamers. Literally just click rock slide and you can win. What are some fun other pokemon to pair with ttar exca? I wonder if there is a universe where you run slow tar and build more of a trick room team that sometimes leverages exca to outspeed shit outside of TR
>>59238860ZA is such a shit game
>>59238794This Meta was a mistake
I'm master ball in both singles and doubles
Should I waste my time trying to get to Masters in singles?
>>59239030If you want more vp from end of season rewards yes
>>59239041where can you see the season rewards?
>>59239018post teams
>>59239030If you think it's a waste of time probably not. Also singles tilts me like crazy more than doubles ever could.
>>59238799To be fair Archaludon gets some weird things that other pokemon don't get. It's the only non legendary non pseudo 600 BST Pokemon in the history of the game. It was one of only two mons added to Indigo Disk that wasn't a legendary and, for not being the champion pokemon, it is clearly the stronger one. It gets crazy good abilities and a signature move that makes it a competitive monster and it is the evolution of a pokemon that was already considered a final stage, he even had a Gigantamax form. It's not hard to see someone in the dev team really liking the line to give them all those toys to play with.
>>59239055>Singles>M-Gardevoir, M-Lopunny, Dragonite, Azumarill, Talonflame, MimikyuWallbreak with the megas and setup and sweep with the rest. Talonflame is to bait my opponent into bringing Stealth Rocks so I can get a free turn of setup. I almost never actually bring it to a match.>Doubles>M-Froslass, Glaceon, Kingambit, Inceleroar, Garchomp, MiloticSet up veil and fire off Blizzards. Garchomp exists only to counter zardY
>>59238982>great ball tier in singles.I made it within one win of ultra ball using nothing but a bunch of ranch recruits that I didn't train at alland also I have 0 experience with competitive PokemonI guess it is just a coin toss down there
I love CHADvillain
God I’m so sick of bulky Rotom wash give me my fucking Rillaboom
>only 3 team slots unless you want to payfucking really? its not like im gonna pay money just so I don't have to manually switch out some pokemon
>>59239280bro your meganium?
>>59238577I honestly don't mind Arch at all simply because of how much of an improvement he is compared to Duraladon. Legitimately one of the worst designs I've ever seen in anything.
fuck i barely touched this shit after getting to master ball. i hope they shake up the meta a little bit. i'm tired of sneasler/basculegion/kingambit/incineroar>>59239338you literally don't need more
>>59239338You can use the Replica Teams feature to "save" extra loadouts to swap between. Its not the intended way to use the feature but it works.
>>59239338100% they will sell shit like extra team slots and more box space when mobile releases. There is no chance in hell the mobile version launches with such a barebones shop.
Just found out my Mega Aerodactyl build speed-tied with Scarf Basculegion and it has been like this for 100 matches.
>>59239404Sounds like you EVed it to be 1 point faster than Dragapult which is exactly where scarf Basc ends up.
>>59239413You got it in one.
>>59239084hopefully that person on the dev team gets fired
They really should require Last Resort to require a full set of moves to work
>lose because of a flinch xD
How many more hours is the Battle Comp live for? Only have 32 games completed.
>>59238860I put 400 hours into the game, most of that shiny hunting. I was all but done with it and the DLC by the time the 4th season of online rolled around. The game is a 6/10. There's parts to like, but not a huge amount of content variety, the battling is mediocre and I was wishing I could just avoid it by the end.
>>592395053 hours I believe.
>>592395053 hours I think
>>59238495It could POTENTIALLY do something, either with Male's prankster on turn one or fishing for a Competitive boost with Female on turn one, but it wants a psychic terrain support and at the end of the day it's a slightly worse Mega Alakazam with the only benefit of choosing Meowstic instead being that it won't get killed quite as easily by weak priority moves (but if psychic terrain is down then priority is moot anyway)
>>59239546Does a Meowstic with Prankster and Imprison + Fake Out go before Fake Out users on turn 1? Would be funny.
>>59239583Fake Out has higher priority, so no. Prankster just adds a flat +1 to priority to status moves.
What are the odds they buff M-Meowstic with Psychic Surge next season? Maybe just female Meowstic could get it?
>>59239546>the end of the day it's a slightly worse Mega AlakazamIt has some benefits over mega zam>better hp and def>more coverage options (zams are horrendous)>competitive before mega evolving to hard fuck intimidate leads
>>592397110%. They’re stingy as fuck when it comes to anything other than moveset tweaks.
>wide lens isn't indamn, I was gonna do some singles maushold bullshit
>>59239758Unfortunately the most prevalent Intimidate user is a Dark type so it can't really do anything versus one. A shame it didn't have a better ability since it's pretty much a win aesthetics-wise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs04c6rDLRA
>>59238393That's the team that is disappointing me rn also. It seems like it should be good for TR given people try to protect out the turns but it's total intimidate bait. After intimidate it can't even one shot Charizard which is pathetic.
>>59238804Klefki can be fake outed.
>>59238563>>59238570>>59238778Get rid of Last Respect, how much would this change Basculegion, both male and female?
Alright, about to hit bump limit. Gimme a reminder as to what to add to the next OP.
>30/45 games>Top 2800>15 minutes leftShould I keep going or keep my position?
>>59239943archaludon = gay
>>59239946>not 45/45Doesn't count
>>59239964
>>59239711Literal Zero, it's stuck forever with that shit ability just like most of the ZA Megas getting squat
I'm tired of being on a losing streak. I need that flower to break it.
>>59239338The least you can do is to jolt down all your replica codes so you can get around that limitation. It sucks but at least they don't make it confusing with I and 1
Aerodactyl has an ability called Rock Head that prevents it from taking damage from recoil, but Aerodactyl doesn't have a single attack that inflicts recoil damage. No Brave Bird, not even Double Edge.
too me a bit to notice, but the really haven't coded the PLA pokeballs by now?
>>59239984This is the same mon that didn't get Rock Slide until gen 3
Anyone bother with singles? What's the meta like and what do you use to fight it?
>>59239984they just threw whatever on some pokemon back in the day. it had rock in the name so they gave it to a rock pokemon
>>59240001Aegislash and Garchomps everywhere Guest Starring Mega Charizard Y
>>59240001Im playing a couple games a day on it so i can say i got double masters on the first season. Its fine. Were there rewards for the event? I was trying to hunt a shiny marked dragonair to evolve into dragonite. Been at it for a fucking month.

>>59240081already have several shiny marked ones, no point thenAnyone else collect marked shinies?
>>59240084I don't even know what a marked shiny means.
>>59240089Scarlet and violet introduced "marks". There's an upgrade to the lock-on in the dlc that lets you see which pokemon have one. They give titles to pokemon when you send them out; ribbons do this too, but there's certain marks you can only get in certain circumstances. There's marks for time of day, such as morning, noon, and night, and then there's weather marks, and then finally personality marks.
Does Foul Play do less damage if the opponent is burned? What if I’m burned?
>>59239938It just needs to be toned down to 40 power. Going 4v3 against Basculegion shouldn't give it a spammable base 100 power move.
>>59240104Half damage if you are burned. Foul play uses your opponent's attack stat. Burn doesn't halve the attack stat, it halves the physical damage dealt by the burnt Pokemon. This is also why burn lowers Body Press damage and Sword of Ruin raises it.
>>59240098AND JUST FUCKING GOT IT FUCKTHIS TOOK A MONTH AAAAAAAAAAAAA

what kind of mental illness makes people care about shinies?
>>59238988the classic aerodactyl for tailwind support, and sand veil bright powder garchomp
>>59240130They are so piss easy to get in SV and ZA. The full teams of shinies you see on Champions wasn't as time consuming to get as you think they are.
>>59240130No idea. Personally, to each their own and i dont judge.I have a ton of shinies genned from tradebots, and i also hunt shinies myself. Its nice to have extra bling on mons that I know ill use, and I like having the mastery of the mechanics of the game itself, seeing how people leverage the mechanics to get that rolls.>>59240137also this. It isnt that much of a flex anymore, and more of concious decision to spend some time to get it.
>>59239984it has take down in older games but take down's not in champions so it ends up looking stupid

>>59236618>weak armor>no focus sashKind of a shit strat for doubles anyways because of shit like sandstorm or just taking two hits a turnFor doubles Flash Fire is usually better, keeps them from spamming heat wave or you can swap out your whimsicott for ceruledge thinking their zard or incineroar is gonna lay into iti don't even know what to say about light ball man, using a whole item just to make it almost do as much damage as raichu but still be utter shit in every other way
Infernape got #1 in BSS. I'm surprised.
>>59240155I like this shiny thonot even the most disrespectful shiny of gen9
>>59240215Shiny female Charizard (not mander sorry) in a moon ballI can just give it to you if you want it, just send me something with a moon ball attached (if you wouldn't mind) so I can catch another.

>>59240223>almost as much damage as raichuLight Ball Pika effectively has 152 base SPA, it’s way stronger
>>59240230I told you guys Infernape was likely low key great. That thing has insane coverage and, unlike Lucario, doesn't require you to waste a mega slot to run mixed.
>>59240252I've not traded since like 2024 so doubtful it was me. And nah I got pretty much all the shinies I want. Ill just give it to you via home, just trade me whatever. (Ill just get a moonball through a trade bot)
