I've been pleasantly surprised by this team. Gone like 15-3 with it so far, but the losses felt really insurmountable so I either picked bad or there's better options in here to tune it up. People who've been playing longer than me and know more than me, please point out the holes that I'm glossing over. The one that I'm back and forth on is having Incin and Sableye rather than just one of the other, but they do slightly different jobs in certain matchups.

What can I do to improve this team? The general (and basically only) opener is to Frost Breath the Tauros with the Froslass and then go to town, then hope the Froslass goes down so you can bring in the Sinistcha for redirection/support. Fourth Pokemon is for clean-up.

I think one thing you might want to consider is having an intimidate user (most obvious of which is the cat). Lead Incin, then immediately switch out to Tauros to eat the frost breath. Once Froslass goes down, incin can come back in to intimidate a second time and then fake out someone.I think speed control is one of your issues altogether, and since scizor seemingly is just tacked on, you might consider rotom wash or something for electrowebs, or any tailwind users. I know froslass gets ice wind, but i think its far more value to click curse and let it die

Volcarona is such a beautiful anti-TR Pokémon. Nobody expects their giraffe to get one shotted and once they do, that's game. Same for most of the other typical TR setters. The only time it's ever really a concern is when they lead alongside Blastoise who you know is going to Fake Out the Volc but as long as you kill the Blastoise that turn instead, you're still often in a good spot.

>>59272235I might try out a bulkier Volc, I honestly just used whatever Showdown gave me as their recommended and then copied that into Champions because I'm lazy. I really need to do my research and find out what speed tiers are important to be beating with it. Sunny Day on Sableye is an absolute must though, in my experience with this team. Being able to cuck Mega Frosslass, Excadrill, Archaladon Electro Shot, they're all essentially free wins if you get it right and boosting Volc's Heat Wave is just a nice bonus on top. It's very very rare to end up with only Sableye and even then sometimes it can win if you force the opponent into a Struggle.

Question for the higher elo players here. Thoughts on Gyarados/mega Gyarados? It seems to match up really well into the current meta, has nice utility in its base form and a swords dance mega Gyarados is a real threat. I was running a team around Pokemon recently and threw a sitrus berry Gyarados on the team for an intimidate and it ended up outperforming the Pokemon I was trying to build around.
