For raids, no. Here's it's rankings

So if you don't do PvP, just hang onto it I guess I dunno.

For GBL, its pretty good. The main issue is that Metagross is directly competing with it for Bulky Steel / Crowned Dog hard counter. It's main benefit over Metagross is that it actually ends up beating Kyurem White, making it one of the few pokemon that can handle both Kyurems and both Crowned Dogs (Others being Marshadow and Keldeo).

Solgaleo also plays around with switches pretty well, since it can spam Psychic Fangs to get out of a bad match up, and if opponents are locked into it, it spirals pretty quickly and leaves debuffs behind if they switch to something else.

It's secondary problem after Metagross mostly outclassing it though, is just how many of it's hard counters you face, and how badly it loses them. Ho-oh and Palkia-O are everywhere, Kyogre isn't that far behind, Lunala and Necrozma Dawn Wings can legitimately just win the whole match if you hard switch to Solgaleo and they catch you, and Mewtwo manages to squeeze a win in and is everywhere now. For the classic Zacian / Palkia-O / Ho-oh team, Solgaleo is honestly more of a liability than a solution.

Getting to Rank 20 has a set guide, but even after that, setting yourself up to a lower rank to abuse the 4x Stardust days, netting 16k stardust a set, changes it from the rock-paper-scissors garbage pvp matches to more of a spreadsheet / risk analysis game (where are other tankers likely to rest at? Should I call my losses at 1/5 wins for this 4x stardust day to settle my ranking back down?)
From a time investment / stardust return, trying to win every match is legitimately worse than trying to lose every match once you hit Ace

You can hock regular Poké Balls at it until it's caught if you like, since the vast majority of legendary Pokémon are caught in Premier Balls.

It won't have the easy catch bonus that raid legendaries are getting, so be prepared for it to take a while.

part of it is because scopely are dumb fucks who have never heard of network deprioritization, where if an area is too congested, carriers are given priority access by their pricing, resulting in irregular raids where people load in at different times or have their megad pokemon be insta killed by a charge attack before they can even fire off a charged attack. thats why you're starting to see misrepresented numbers. of course when people see the number of load people drop they think people have abandoned the run when they are just loading in. and this is why niantic came up with gigantmax raids for 100 people to solve such congestion and so eternamax raids have never been topped while super mega raids are dogshit. their messing with the raid distribution to be less distributed and more tuned to habitat and raid history so everywhere is congested or abandoned only made it worse too.

each route only rolls the cell once and at the end of the route, you either get it or you have to do other routes when that route for the day is a dud. you're only going to get more cells out of a route the next day. if you think you should have gotten cells but it never popped up, you can force a reload by pausing the route, closing the game, opening the game and unpausing the route. in most cases it still won't give shit.

I think its pretty much standardized to up to 1km route = maybe a cell or not up to 2km route = up to 2 cell and up to 3km route is up to 3 cell, either way doing or mapping 1km routes is a waste of time and you're only winning via uber long commute routes that are close to 3km long, the game doesn't care where you go or how fast you move as long as you are at the start and end point, which is all fucked up and anti walking along with making the cell cap events only with the kalos tour which allowed 25 route giving cells or a very high cap so everyone that missed that event is crawling at snails pace.

idk I see myself getting more use out of a Mega Mewtwo X/Y that can act as a top Fighting/Electric/Ice/Psychic/Ghost attacker than Kartana or Blacephalon. Like, Kartana's main use case was Primal Kyogre and MMY outclasses it there. You also have to consider that it's kind of a waste to raid a mon once or twice when you would still need to raid dozens more of it to get the Candies/Candy XLs to max it out. I didn't bother with most of the random legendaries because it's way more sensible to just focus on them the next time they get a raid hour.

It takes a minimum of 17 raids just to unlock a pre-existing Mewtwo's ability to Mega, then another 12-17 to max out its Mega level depending on how patient you are, and this is a best-case scenario that assumes you're in a competent group that can blow it up ASAP every time.

I'd say that it's kind of a hassle to swap moves when you need to do a certain raid, but the biggest problem with the charged moves is that Psychic and Ghost require an elite TM. So you either power up 2 Mewtwos (one with the Ghost and Psychic legacy charged attacks and the other with whatever you want it to have) or you never get to use one of the legacies while keeping the other charge move for whatever else you want.
I'd say Mega Fug had/has a more significant use than Mega Mewtwo because of its sheer DPS, being a top raid (even in types where it deals neutral damage): Normal/Ice/Poison/Flying/Bug/Rock/Dragon/Fairy

Shadow Ball or Ice Beam, typically Shadow Ball.
Shadow Ball loses to Dawn Wings and Mega Gengar as a raid attacker, but it being a psychic type allows it to boost candy while being a solid raid attacker.
It's the best Ice Mega, so Ice Beam is fine. It loses to the fused Kyurems though, so there's not really a reason to use it. But it does have a nice defensive profile vs things like Rayquaza, who typical counters are weak to it's attacks.

I guess the tera raid crystals will tell you what tera type the Pokémon is in advance, as well as Pokémon you're battling.

I have a "Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G" (mouthful of a name for a chinkphone). I've had it since 2022 and it's never failed me with PoGo or any other smartphone task (battery has degraded, though). It was around 200 bones unlocked and works with all major carriers. I'm sure a more modern version would hit the spot. Best part is the built-in "cloner" which allows you to have 2 different PoGo accounts and apps running at the same time (one full screen and one windowed).

Samsung does it too and you can split screen, adjust split size and even make the screens bigger than the screen (about 85% of height per app, and you swipe to switch between them). It's a great feature although what anon said about samsung applies: heating up that causes your split screen to cancel, shit screen brightness.

Picrel Is how Xiaomi handles it. The second app is on top of the first, so the aspect ratio is still somewhat the same and the main app remains unchanged. You can increase the second app's size to be almost as big as the first or make it way smaller and just have it on a corner.

I'd be very happy with my A53 - the best at the time that wasn't a flagship model - since the battery is durable and everything Just Worked great. They did add some stuff but the most impactful ones, enhanced graphics, native refresh rate and reactive movement, can all be turned off (native refresh rate is a must have, though). The other visual features, catch backgrounds and map updates, don't seem to have much impact on the game, as far as I'm aware/experienced.

niantic really saw a few redditors onions point at the backgrounds of mythicals and decided to ruin the framerate forever just to add some fucking bushes that no one gives a fuck about nor asked for that you cant turn off LMFAO

I'm quite positive that the features do have an impact on the game. And it doesn't go well with the memory leaks that force you to restart both instances after a few raids in order not to drop to 1-4 FPS.
2-3 years ago the game just ran better, and the difference is sizeable even if you disable everything you can. Of course I'm still mainly talking about running it twice, yet other parts didn't exactly get smoother either. UI for example.

Given that my display is capped at 60 hz, going from 300 theoretical fps to 295 theoretical fps because they added trees doesn't actually change my experience, no. The game does slow down occasionally, but that's when I've both been playing for a while and charging, so it's thermally throttling rather than actually struggling to run
