>>10855219it ws their worst game yes because they have a great track record. but for a golf game its fun with friends but no so good solo.
>>10855196T&E Golf (or simply "Golf") on Virtual Boy is good too.
>>10854165Mario Golf on N64 or GameCube, no contest really
I occasionally relax to a round of this old flash game from Yahoo Games Japan in browserhttps://archive.org/details/38148
>>10855220Did Iwata program the SNES version as well?
everybody golf on psx, or the one on dreamcast.
>>10855390Apparently yeshttps://shmuplations.com/iwata/
>>10855483>I had really wanted to make a golf game for the N64 too, but the timing wasn’t right. Then while we were working on other things, Nintendo released the definitive golf game for the system, Mario Golf 64. I admit that we felt kind of emotional about that, given our history of making golf games for Nintendo. It was like, “we’re supposed be the ones making the Mario golf games!” (laughs)Would have been interesting to see a HAL-developed 3D golf game.

>>10854206I quite enjoy the pocket version.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taqliVhc6VM
>>10854475tiger woods 2004 is hands down the best retro golf game. pc version is decent but the console versions (xbox is best for visual fidelity, but ps2 and gc also good). people gonna post neo turf masters but only bc they haven't played the best.my now wife, and many friends who never saw themselves getting into golf, got into golf through tiger woods '04. '05 had added foot positioning but '04 had the best fantasy courses. '06 and after had the quality drop.it had rpg elements. you could play with your friends or on your own and still earn points to built up your customized character. after getting good, coming up with trick shots was also a blast.
>>10854165I have never enjoyed a golf game so thoroughly as Mario Golf Toadstool Tour on the Gamecube. So many hours solo and with friends, it never stopped being good. I like playing it without the music on.
>>10857042this is great for all the systems its on, earlier golf games I felt were too easy and this plays the same as golf games up to about 5 years ago.
That new mario golf game on the switch was such a fucking let down with its retarded "open world" golf courses or whatever.
>>10854206Is it really that good?
We had a mini golf game on our 486 that I adored but I can't remember the name for the life of me
Tiger Woods 04/05 are easily the best but I had fun as a kid with Valora Valley Golf for the Saturn despite thinking golf was boring as all hell at the time. Not as OTT fantasy coursewise most of the time as the screenshots often make it out to be - and the more out-there ones tend to be quite obnoxious - but it was a fun time.
>>10860412This is a revised Wicked 18/Devil's Course for SNES and Mega Drive-jp. The holes are very similar but much more lenient. The original is probably the worst OTT fantasy course ever with its unforgiving nature, on a 16 bit game engine that already makes regular courses difficult to see and very slow to navigate.
ironically, something like image related is 'up there' as classic golf games go...
Image related was one of the very first Gold Games my dad ever purchased for the NES. Probably the first one I have ever played. This music track is forever burned into my brain: https://youtu.be/ijkNNRBdDpw?t=2

Fucking christ that game is murderous for tiny input errors.>>10855496Camelot had no problem emulating their sadistic rival matches.>>10855667It is a mecha shoujo game. MC looks like a Nagai character.>>10856490It's largely physics simulations, and none of them have to happen particularly quickly. You have ample time to take the player's input and apply the output, so long as a ball object is moving or a sound effect plays while you do it. Also, it's a game where being alone is never an issue and sometimes is ideal, plus it allows you to enjoy the game in abstract without the all-day affair of getting to a course and doing the real game. Plus, some exclusive courses you will likely never get to play, so it can allow you to do so. >>10856591fuck I remember that, didn't realize it was Craig.>>10861105Play the 3DO version.>>10861132ゲーム? >>10858317Same here anon, it’s close to a perfect game for me. I used to play it with a roommate every night for months, we never got sick of it. I hold the GBA version in similar regard, just wish there were more courses.
>>10855196holy shit links 2003 is so goodthanks for the headsup
>>10855612Wtf r his legs doin here
I still have a soft spot for this. Came with my dad's brand new Gateway machine, and a whole host of other software and games that we were strictly forbidden to play.
Neo Turf Masters is the GOAT golf game.
Kirby's Dream Course is a lot of fun, although obviously not traditional.
>>10854165This is my absolute jam, it has that Maxis style light humour, design and play your own courses, basic stat system for your character I don't think there's anything else really like it out there (please correct me if I'm wrong)
>>10855612This box art makes my brain smell KB Toys. Beetle Adventure Racing too.
