Uematsu said that music was like oxygen in 3rd and 4th gen. It provided all the emotion. But after that, you could do whatever you wanted, and games became more heavily visual. That’s why a lot of modern revisions of old tunes sound so bland and soulless.

I have never heard the original because I have never beaten the original version of the game. I played Nightmare first as a kid so now when I try Adventure I find it hard to get into because of the slowdown.

I've never played Star Allies, but it sounds more like it got reduced to a mid-boss theme rather than a final boss theme. So in that sense I think it fits fine. Also I need to get a RetroMax so I can play this game again
