Was that one fun?
As a kid I really liked the first Taz game on Genesis. I know it's janky and has some bullshit but I learned the whole game by memory and would beat it in less than an hour every day after school. For some reason I really liked it, probably because I loved the Taz-Mania cartoon, but something about the game kept me hooked. It had a particular atmosphere and levels were variated enough to never feel monotonous.
Fuck that mine elevator level though.

That's why I'd rent 2 and have a safe pick, like a motocross game.
>>
I rented FF Crystal chronicles and never got past the title screen

Krusty’s Super Fun House, what a boring piece of garbage that game was and can only assume still is. All the Simpson’s games were perfect rental bait, the covers made them look fun but they were all shit. I guess Hit and Run may be the lone exception, that one wasn’t bad but it came later, my rental days were mostly the 8/16 bit era. Batman for the NES absolutely filtered me on a rental but that game is actually good, just hard.

This part of Home Alone 2 for the NES. I just could not figure out what the fuck you were supposed to do. It turns out you've got to stand on top of the thing and push "up" over and over for about 30 seconds, while also dodging suitcases.

When I think of the weekend being ruined by game rentals, I cannot think of a single game. Even the crappy rentals ultimately were a new experience. I remember renting Donkey Kong on the NES, for example. What a waste of a weekend rental when the SNES was already out. Still, it was fun. I’m sure there were plenty of SNES games that were mediocre like Paws of Fury, Phantom 2040, etc. but cannot recall a single game where I would get particularly stuck. I enjoyed renting hard games way more than ones that I could beat in a single day. Aaaahh The Real Monsters was kind of crap, now that I think of it.

The PlayStation Simpson wrestling game was surprisingly fun for what it was.

When you can't afford your own sex robot you have to pay to share a rentoid with other dudes.
>>
>>10862163

Yeah I don't recall ever having this problem. Some rentals weren't too good, but even those ones were at least novel.

I liked how this game looked like a cartoon, but it was a pain in the ass. I borrowed it from a friend in grade school. I get what they were trying to do with the music, but it just comes out as GEMS slop

I played that on rental and liked it. I sucked at it and its audiovisual style wasn't entirely to my taste, but I liked the mystery of it. I got nowhere, had fun, and learned not to rent that game again.
>>
>>10860898
I never had this experience, but also I never intended for a rented game to be my main entertainment for a weekend. When I rented a game that turned out to suck I just did other stuff.

>love Rocko's Modern Life
>see a video game version of the show on the VHS rental store shelves
>take it home for the weekend
>it's a puzzle-platformer with a neverending escort mission
>can't get past the first level
>get angry and get mom to drive me back to exchange it for the Jurassic Park SNES game

>>10862205
same happened to me, I saw "MARIO" and expected a platformer. tried to play it like a platformer, got stuck, never played it again.
>>
>>10862205
Mario is Missing is light geographic and historic and trivia and isn't too bad, plus the remixes of SMW music are nice.
Mario's Time Machine on the other hand has you literally doing homework
