Starting over from the previous checkpoint allows you to reach Dracula with more hearts and a better choice of weapons. It actually makes the fight easier which is not negligeable.

I kept grabbing the holy water assuming it would be more useful on his 2nd form but It really wasn't. The axe would help out way more on that one. From what I can tell it probably will come more in handy on his 3rd .

>>10870726protip: hitting candles with subweapons gives you double/triple shot multipliers. you can just take the staircase up and down to grind those and hearts out for him. axe is pretty nice on his first form too because you don't have to jump to hit him that way so you can beat that phase in only one teleport.
