Sugoro Quest, a decidedly experimental Famicom RPG from Technos involving dice and manipulating them in combat. It's non-linear so you can beat the first couple stages of the game in any order and all game items are accessible at the start. Does cop from Ghosts 'n Goblins in that you have to actually beat the game twice to get the ending, which some may call a bit cheap (but if you're properly prepared it's not a huge deal).

It's been translated if you want to play it. There's really no other game quite like this and it's an interesting diversion from the usual tedious RPG grindfests.

Interesting.

It's alright but it's really built for multiplayer for you to either coop or compete with another player. Playing it alone is a bit boring.

I don't believe you're being wholly honest with us, OP.
