I was also on a GBA SP with a primitive flash cart so I can imagine save states would make it better. There's no map system so you just move from chapter to chapter. There's a 3rd one but I can't remember. blazing blade? didn't get released in the states but there's translations.

VF has good animations but I've always liked Lion's in particular. Especially the upkicks. The mantis style alone makes him stand out with how he holds his hands
