Dungeons & Dragons Shadow Over Mystara was probably the peak of Arcade and Arcade style beat em ups.Dragon's Crown is better in an overall sense but it has leveling, stats, equipment etc. so it's not an arcade like experience except that you can play missions in small chunks that are kind of arcade-like.

The bosses in SoR1 do so much damage that it's almost required to just cheese them with loops and it's just kind of tedious. SoR1 also has less variety in gameplay when fighting normal enemies.>GET GOODI've 1cc'd both games on the highest difficulty both solo and co-op, SoR2's more fun. Haven't spent much time with SoR3 because I personally can't stand it, so I won't speak on it.
