What do you think about the Legacy of Kain games?
>>
BO was too jank
SR1 had too many block puzzles
SR2 was barebones
But they all had good storytelling

Blood Omen 2 is a masterpiece. So is Defiance.

Load times in Blood Omen are very frequent. Didn't play Blood Omen 2. SR1 is good, short but I like the block puzzles as someone who appreciates escalation in a concept, also there's some subtle and interesting use of the core mechanics by the last few areas that I wish we got more of in SR2 but they were doing their own thing. SR2 is also a good time, well paced in how it introduces new enemies and escalates the stakes until it paints the full picture - there will be a point fairly early on that you're simply pining for the next revelation in its story. I started Defiance but decided to take a break, this is the one where they finally found the fun in combat, and it is satisfying even if it's simple. Insanely good looking too, I do not know why there aren't more people posting screenshots of that one.

I recently tried to get into the series.
Blood Omen starts off strong but by the Dark Eden zone I was having trouble staying engaged with the game. Great atmosphere and writing though. I then attempted to get into Soul Reaver 1 on the Dreamcast and didn't even finish the tutorial, was not interesting at all.
