Pitch a Shen Mue/Yakuza/Mega Man Legends type game where you get to explore the world and environment of a beat 'em up or fighting game franchise from before around 2004. Each fighting game has its own roster of characters who have intricate backstories and histories, however, the detail of those environments are typically left to character profiles and endings. Imagine if the world of the fighting game could be explored in the game world itself. What aspects of the world would you explore. Who would be the main character or characters. What would the plot be about. The game might even have a fighting tournament in it as a reference to its own fighting tournament. Or it might be an open city/open world environment where the culture and tone of the environment is explored beyond the scope of the fighting stage. Perhaps the personality and characterization of a certain character or characters could be explored further. How do they act outside of a fighting environment. What do they do in their free time, their daily lives, their day to day interactions. Imagine the detailed 3D environment to explore and even cross paths with other characters.
