People don’t actually find this difficult, do they?

Has nobody ever played a warrior in any game? Literally just pull mobs away from the pack and around a corner, and you’re good to go.

Anyone who says you need magic to beat Diablo with a warrior shouldn’t be allowed to play warriors in vidya at all.
>>
I agree, the bigger issue is that the game itself is boring as fuck and didn't get good until D2. Cool atmosphere, though.
>>
>>11340869
Retards don't understand kiting.
>>
>>11340869
I actually played this for the first time recently and went with warrior. All-in-all I really enjoyed my playthrough. Extremely comfy and sovlful experience. Admittedly the last couple floors were a big jump in difficulty, but nothing that going slowly couldn’t fix.

I really don’t think I would have enjoyed playing Rogue or Sorcerer as thoroughly as I did Warrior. I feel like gear and weapons would be fairly insignificant for them, which is a big draw to these games for me. Inspecting every single drop and stacking resistances was really satisfying in the latter half of the game.

I will say the first half was a little slow and that the Butchers weapon carried me further than I was comfortable with. I had to force myself to put it down for the sake of my own enjoyment.

Also, FUCK those acid spitting dogs when they have a boss with them early on. Absolutely stomped my ass out like a fly.

The goat archers can suck a dick too.
>>
>>11340869
Nightmare and Inferno difficulty throws stunlocking enemies at you. Good luck with that.
>>
>>11340869
Did you run into the unique pack of spitters in caves? Their AI differs from normal spitters so they won't fall for peeling. That's really the most difficult pack in the game as warrior, the mages and bitches in hell just take time to chase down
>>
>>11340869
Warrior is not AS easy as as Sorcerer, but it's not really hard if you understand what to do, no.

>>11340876
You're boring as fuck.

>>11340928
>I feel like gear and weapons would be fairly insignificant for them, which is a big draw to these games for me
They aren't, gear which boost magic and resistances are pretty vital for Sorcerer, and really good for Rogue as well. Bows which do good damage, and maybe even have Knockback, are supremely useful for Rogue, and Rogue also benefits dramatically from blocking off the path for enemies with spells like Fire Wall, that'll let you more easily handle monsters which can more quickly close the distance to you.
Of course, some monsters are immune to fire.

On the Hellfire side, Barbarian benefits supremely from the Undead Crown, and any decent axe which does Life Steal or even Mana Steal. Barbarian is a shit caster by design, but with some gear to give him Magic and Mana, he can cast a few practical spells a little bit.
Mainly Town Portal and Reflect, but with Mana Steal you can keep up more regular use of offensive spells, at least relative to having no spells at all, and he's such a fucking rabid beast with an axe that with Life Steal, you can often power through hordes of monsters which would tear other classes apart.
I will however recommend carrying a bow with you for Cathedral and Catacombs just in case you encounter Black Deaths though, those fuckers are just no fun.

Yeah but it'll be through ignoring resistances and running into the acid mob >>11341907 mentioned, expecting to take it out while spamming potions. Same kind of players that don't realize running in D2 drops your defense.

Spitting Terrors are THE number one enemy of an unprepared Warrior, they are such a fucking oppressive demon, and why Warriors should actually learn some offensive magic.
They are fairly mean in melee as well, just one can hitstun a high level Sorcerer to death, which is why you make sure to avoid melee as a Sorcerer.

I actually find the uniques with their Constant Spit behavior a little bit easier a lot of the time, simply because they will tend to stay put and spit on, even if you get out of range, in which case you can pick them off pretty methodically with your further reaching spells or arrows.

>>11341892
The more armor you have, the less likely you are to take a hit, and items with Fastest Hit Recovery really fucking pay off in reducing hit stun.

You have to walk for the most part and engaging with enemies doesn't involve 20 squares of buffer space where you can get free damage in. It is more difficult than Sorcerer, likely more difficult than Rogue depending on the floor layout.

Yeah, a lot of people are pretty damn bad, they'll just rush straight into a big mob and get raped. You could also kite them to doorways and then stand on the other side of the door so that you're just fighting one at a time while the rest pile up.

The game was great though back in the day, PVP was awesome in that game. Definitely the best PVP of any Diablo game hands down. Also you dropped all your equipped gear if you died which raised the stakes.

I mean people say things like that but when confronted with the reality they choose modern zoomzoom gameplay of poe or fast clearing blizzard/hammerdins in d2. path of exile 2 appears to go back to the slower more methodical style. This .webm is what I mean by the unique Spitting Horrors sometimes not being as bad as the regular types, the Constant Spit behavior means the unique and its pack will stand in place and spit at you even if they can't reach you, which makes them rather predictable.

>>11344458
Well yeah, you don't get the best shit for free, son, you gotta make that kind of power happen.

>>11344496
>>it's level 29 now
I haven't played the PSX port, but it actually lets you level spells past 15 there? On PC, spells are capped at 15 levels, and can only get higher than that with some items which boost spell levels, in which case you can get it up to like 17 or maybe 18.

>Most disappointing final boss ever.
He's tougher on the higher difficulties, but I don't know if PSX Diablo enables those. He's not immune to fire though, so one of the easiest ways to cheese the fucker is to spam Fire Wall where he stands, which will eat away at his health, the more you cast, the faster he hurts.

If you and your pal wanna give Diablo another spin some day, DevilutionX runs on all kinds of fucking machines now (even Amigas and phones), it has multiplayer with the singleplayer quests and almost no cheats, and it has gamepad support.

>>11344675
A lot of the story gets retconned and muddled with Diablo 2. Not enough to destroy it, but Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 would make sure to do that.

You mean "the operative words".

I wish we could get an ARPG somewhere between Diablo 1 and 2. I won't elaborate on this, it's too painful for me.
>>

iirc shrines only appear in the first couple dungeons
>stack magic items
>learn teleport

>start new game
>teleport through the floors hunting for good shrines until they disappear (floors roughly 1-8)
>save character
>rinse and repeat

Don't use the goat ones. Goat magic is fucked and it'll cripple you.
>>11351663

>>
>>11351260
I find that Apocalypse isn't very practical outside of Hellfire, because you're so limited by charges and scrolls. Even in Hellfire, where you can learn it, it's not that great because it's nerfed, it doesn't strike enemies unless you have direct line of sight, so all it's really good for is hitting triple immunes, which is uses too much mana and does too little damage to be very efficient.
What Hellfire does have though is Immolate, which shoots out a ring of Fireballs around you, which are never AS strong as Fireballs, but they do splash damage and the relatively low mana cost makes the DPS pretty damn good.

>Villians
they all went insane and became cursed anon. Which makes fucking perfect sense to a mortal being around diablo and fucking being near his soul stone. I mean dude literally shoves it in his dead.

Is it canon that he was never even truly their. That the prince with the soul stone was just some like part of diablo you were not even in hell. It was all a ruse to find a legit powerful warrior to take the soulstone and put the real plan into motion freeing his brothers.
>>

>Is it canon that he was never even truly their. That the prince with the soul stone was just some like part of diablo you were not even in hell. It was all a ruse to find a legit powerful warrior to take the soulstone and put the real plan into motion freeing his brothers.
I think the canon explanation given was that under Tristam it's not the real Hell, it's the Caves but Diablo is warping them into his lair. The game was better before they tried to flesh it out over 4 games with angel characters and other retardation.

Not him, but I find it isn't that great. I'm gonna kill on sight anyway, and if I can't see them myself, then I can't target them. In some sense you can use it for stealth, but it's incredibly fucking niche in practical applications.

I tried going for maximum darkness to try to play stealth, but Diablo just isn't made for it, the game doesn't actually work properly when you get light radius down low enough.
