What's some games for women?I picked up a PS3 for a really good price and want to put some PS1/PS2/Remastered games on it as a birthday present. The girl in question is a big fan of PS2 horror so I've already put the Silent Hills and Resident Evils and Haunting Ground on the HDD. She's a big GameCube fan too, so if there's any Nintendo-adjacent games that'd be sick
Rule of Rose?
>>11350572Okami
Alternatively there's also the modern port/remaster
If you can get NES on there somehow throw this one on there along with Kid Dracula
Real gamer women's favorite games were Primal and Beyond Good and Evil back in those days
>>11350572Animal Crossing, Mario Party, and any other shit like that. Otherwise, you are dating a man.
>>11350572you should try putting on games that she would like, rather than games that Generic Woman would like
>>11350572>Nintendo-adjacent gamesSonic Adventure is on PS3
>>11350572My sister got really into Harvest Moon when we were kids.
About horror games I don't know...but my sis play with this Rumble Roses and Tomb Raider with Ps2
Do women only play games with female protagonists? Concerning...
>>11350812>that box artwhy does the girl on the right look like they took a real photo of someone and then slapped an uncanny valley ass anime girl head on top of it?
>>11350835There was a thing posted by the League of Legends devs that said 97% of their female playerbase plays female characters, and with guys it's 50/50. Mindboggling number if you think about it
>>11350849If true, this explains a hell of a lot about the state of modern video game character design. Hell, it doesn't even have to be true, as long as game companies think it it's true it still holds power.
>>11350843I don't knowI found the pic on amazonbut the cover is real,I checked now the game
>>11350843It's the European version PALIn Usa and Japna the cover is different
>>11350861>So they only play as females? Ok, let's make them ugly hags like in real life, fuck those cunts.>Man can enjoy their power fantasies of course.Based devs.
absolutely cringe
>>11350572Give her licensed games from the 2000's. Madagascar, Hello Kitty, whatever

>>11350572Can someone tell me her name? She's the only character I cannot recognize.
>>11350849>>11350861Makes sense: there was that study done by a toy manufacturer marketing department, I don't remember which, Lego or Hasbro or whatever that found that boys are able to better disconnect themselves from the toys when playing which meant a broader appeal, flexibility and ability to enjoy things without having to relate to them when playing or acting things out with the toys, whereas most of the girls in the study gravitated only to what they could relate to or insert themselves in and were less inclined to break convention if needs be.When you extrapolate this information to other forms of media and entertainment, you start noticing this pattern come up too not just with the types of protagonists but especially settings and what is focused on. What types of games end up being popular among girls above other games? Lifesim stuff like The Sims, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing are top sellers among women (don't bring up some anecdotal stuff or "I'm not like that", sales data doesn't lie and you or the person you know are the outliers) and they all share commonality in their gameplay and focus.even the unexpected breakout hit for sizable female playerbase worldwide, the MMORPG FFXIV, shares this commonality with systems such as the glamour function as well as housebuilding, letting people play dress-up with their character as well as prompting fashion contests among the community with many of the women citing going full sweatlords on certain raids or dungeons just to get a piece of gear for their glamours, or simply so they can craft specific furniture for their FC room or house so they can host and hang out and RP n shit.
>>11351726>Lifesim stuff like The Sims, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing are top sellers among womenThat's because they like the idea of lording over other people's lives. When a girl says some equivalent of "whatever it is you're doing right now isn't really affecting me, but stop it" to get you to pay attention to what she says, that's her wanting to tell you what to do like you're a Sims character.
>>11351726That actually explains a lot and makes perfect sense. We're on to some pretty deep shit here anon.
>>11351743>That's because they like the idea of lording over other people's lives.it's not just women, men like that shit too, it's just that they do it differently. when men do it it's as a god or a king ,when women do it it's as a mom.
i saw a girl drawing this yuna in class when this came out
>>11351726>>11351743>>11351768Women like The Sims and Animal Crossing because it’s atmospheric and noncompetitive. You’re reading too much into it.
>>11352008So what you're saying is that women are predisposed to liking specific things and games because they're women? Whoa, anon.
>>11352008>Women>Noncompetitive
>>11352046Yes, as a general rule, of course there’s exceptions to every rule. >>11352072In vidya at least. 99.9% of women aren’t grinding 1 CC’s in shumps or playing obscure Doom WADs. They want to play stuff like animal crossing or atmospheric games like silent hill/JRPG’s.Of course there are the types of chicks who play slop like League of Legends, but it’s a good rule of thumb to avoid esports “people” in general.
>>11352086>99.9% of women aren’t grinding 1 CC’s in shumps or playing obscure Doom WADsThose aren't exactly instances where you're competing with other people, just personal challenges (1CC in particular is something you achieve or don't, unlike speedrunning for the shortest time for example).Meanwhile women have entire discussion boards and youtube channels scrutinizing houses and mods and fucking reshade shader preset contests for the most insane minutiae in one another's Sims games, and I have no other way to describe it other than it looking like a very insane form of competition.
>>11350572>What's some games for women?Same games for guys.
>>11350572Try out Ghoul Panic for the PSX.
>>11351446
>>11350572dont women that have good taste like good games like you and me?
>>11352156Interesting. Got any links? I'd like to observe this behavior in the wild.
>>11350594>modern port/remasteryea that sucks lol
>>11353284I stumbled upon it when searching for some specific Marty Reshade effects that are kept behind a paywall, hoping for a stray copy. Just look up "the sims reshade presets" and you'll find that particular iceberg instantly.
Final Fantasy 7/9/10, Persona 3 and 4

>>11350572Cookies & Cream for co-op on ps2
>>11352086>atmospheric gamesIs that why the Yakuza games are so popular among them?
Is Simpsons Hit and Run girlcore?
>>11350572my sister likes re4 and dmc, and i pretty sure she olayed a bit of hl1 on ps2.
>>11352584Didn't see your answer, thanks!
>>11354254Koudelka.
>>11354254Is she a goth? If she's like punky you could put some of the Tony Hawks on there
>>11355718JRPGs are pretty long, so I want her to get through FF7 first before I install another one>>11355882I played Tony Hawk splitscreen with her once and she didn't like it
>>11357425>I played Tony HawkOnly tomboys would enjoy playing this type of game or any other sports game.
>>11357425Koudelka is very short, my first playthrough was just under 12 hours.
>>11353321nta but holy shit, out of curiosity I searched that and that is fucking hilarious. women are insane.
