What are other games that could be amazing but are shit solely because of unfair, imbalanced difficulty

Just ignore people who tell you to git gud and insist the games are fair, unless they can provide a blind playthrough that shows the player isn't dying over and over again. If a game is good and fair, there should be at least one blind playthrough showing that

Konami are pros at this

I could beat this shit when I was 10 years old. It's not that hard. I beat it again recently and was taken aback by the ending credits which mimic the credits of the TV show. I dunno, something about it triggered some major nostalgic longing...some saudade in me.
>>
>>11352915
Did you get all the scripts?
>>
>>11352908
The handegg level just doesn't fucking belong.

adventures of batman and robin genesis
had to remove it from my curation, shits fuckin on the brink of being a busted game, shame it's so god damn hard when it looks so good.
>>
>>11352931
No but I generally don't care about 100%ing stuff.

>It's not that hard.
What's fact is that it's unfair with tons of things you can't know but are expected to react to, like the fat cop's behavior, especially when he randomly appears in later levels and you run into him. Or that fantasy level alone
>have to know how the dragon's "platforms" work
>have to know that you can't jump on the birds, not to mention that they drag you along
>have to know that you get blocked by that mountain even though the dragon, who is on the same, can fly past it just fine
>have to know how he randomly takes way more time to emerge from the clouds at the end
The lane gimmick just doesn't work well in general and sometimes makes no sense

>>have to know that you get blocked by that mountain even though the dragon, who is on the same, can fly past it just fine
i hate this, ghoulsn n gobilins does that with projectiles. dishonest.

>The lane gimmick just doesn't work well in general and sometimes makes no sense
There's a reason this is the only platformer like this.

The first five Wizardry games

I haven't played this version yet, but I find the Genesis version to be amazing. A true Konami classic, IMO.
>>
>90s Konami licensed games are bad because... i suck at them!
WTF? Neo /vr/ is bizarre.
There's nothing unfair about this game except for some of the scripts that are very well hidden, but getting all the scripts is not necessary to beat the game, it's just an extra good ending cutscene.
Dealing with the fat cop? He telegraphs when he's about to run in left or right direction. You can jump on his head to stunt him AND using the Y axis belt scroll nature of the game you can also judt evade him easily
>But he appears so suddenly and it's hard to react quickly!
It's your problem, the game gives you more than enough tools to deal with it
>The dog dragon in the Fantasy level
You just need to stand on him and jump when you gotta jump. Again, nothing unfair about this.
The belt scroll aspect works pretty well, with good responsive controls, even mid-air, and a floor shadow reflection also gives you a visual cue to see in which lane you're gonna land. No excuses.
Animaniacs on SNES is a unique "belt scroll" platformer with good dash & jump mechanics (coming from Buster Busts Loose, another Konami classic), and developed by people from the Goemon Team.
It's a game I also beat as a kid (with all scripts yeah, but I admit I used a guide), and still enjoy as an adult.
If your complaint is that it's unfair, I disagree.
>>
>>11352904
I beat this game when I was like 7 years old. You can do it too, autist.
>>
>>11352904
>if a game is good and fair
You are an unimaginable pussy lol.
>>
>>11352952
Part of gaming is learning. It's also part of life. Gurantee you have no job or a no skill one. Everyone who works a skillful job expects to run into failures based on things that they could not have none.

I'm just imagining you sitting on the floor flaying your arms like a child because something happened to you irl thst you think is unfair. You have no idea how shameful the way you talk sounds to actual adults. You went to strangers online to complain a tv toy from 30 years ago is unfair.

Wow, this takes me back

> find the game in romset
> start up
> the game looks amazing and hilarious
> hard as fuck from the get go
> decide to run through with save states
> still have a pretty tough time
> turns out not getting all script pages leaves you with a bad ending
> ass is blasted to pieces
> haven't played the game since that

This also made me realise that every Konami game based on 90s WB shows is like this. NES and Sega Tiny Toon, Buster Busts Loose, they are unforgiving if you're not going to actually spend a lot of time mastering them. Interesting approach for a licensed games that should aim for an audience as wide as possible.
>>
>>11354530
They are tough but fair. About the same level of difficulty as Mario or Sonic games.
The scripts are not necessary to have an extra level or boss fight, it's just a different ending cutscene.
You should try playing it without save states. The game goes have passwords.
>>
>>11354540
Yeah, I will, someday. Last time I played it when was around 15, I should have more guts in me now for a challenge.

What about Sega Animaniacs game? I've seen it briefly, seems like some Lost Vikings type of a game.
>>
>>11354553
Yeah Sega one is similar to Lost Vikings, it's good too! Totally different from the SNES game so you should play both.
Sega one has Dracula as a boss and it's like fighting him in Castlevania, it's great.
>>
>>11352904
They make games for people like you. Look up everything on the PlayStation 5.
>>
This game comes to mind for me, cool levels but it's really hard. I owned the game for a long time but never beat any of the levels, does make me want to try again though.

If you don't like to get good, you don't like old video games. It's time to stop pretending.
>>
>>11352904
Hated this game as a kid. It looks incredible and is mechanically sound, it’s just incredibly un-fun. The difficulty is way too high for what it’s trying to be, but even if it was easier there’s just nothing to see but lame movie parodies. The Warners don’t even have any goofy actions. Can’t have a game like this missing the humor element. >>11352904
>>
>>11352904
I don't think this game was unfair, it just required some trial and error. I finished it when I was 12 or so.
>>
>>11352904
I always feel like devs should be forced to compete the games they make with the lives and continues a player is given and fired if they can't do it.
>>
>>11355595
They probably can in most cases
>>
>>11355595
The don't have the time to play their games. And if they did they would suck because playing takes the practice that they can't gain through developing.
>>
>>11352934
Examples of what OP is talking about:
Handegg level in Tiny Toons SNES
Babs levels and the bumper car levels in Tiny Toons 2 on NES
Probably the entire second half of Tiny Toons on Genesis
>>
>>11355970
Just stop sucking.
The handegg level makes use of a core mechanic of the game, the dash mechanic, just try to react quickly and either jump or slide, it's a short level and very generous, you can reach the end even if you get stopped a lot of times.
What about the 2nd half of Genesis Tiny Toon filtered you?
Also reminder, this games have all passwords. You can resume from the last level you played any time.

How did everyone forget about the most infamously hard game of them all? I managed to finish this game in one day though thanks to the emulator having slow mode and instant replay.
