i grew up with the ps2 and thought its system menu had uhh, idk, an eerie feel to it? almost as if you're terminally isolated, with no one there besides you. i believe the gamecube also got relatively similar ui design philosophy

Retard
>>
I never found any of those menus creepy
>>
ps2 menus is what you see when you rub your eyes
>>
those menus were very futuristic and millenium
>>
>>11354135
It took me like 15 years to realize the sound on the menu was waves
I think I might be retarded
>>
>>11354135
yeah I get what you're saying.
it's a bit melancholy
>>
>>11354135
It's because of the ocean sounds. It's primordial. The "universe" of the game is missing.
>>
>>11354135
>uhh
uuuuuhhhhhh, you need to get out of here and back to twitter, okay?
>>
I don't care about your liminal space bullshit. Thread hidden.
>>
it's calming, atmospheric
>>
>be zoomer
>afraid of everything
Many such cases, i blame microplastics and soccer moms who killed manly cartoons.
>>
This is such an obvious bait thread
>>
No. But it would be nice to change to a weird theme.
>>
I think it's peak comfy. The boot up sound with it's moving blocks that represent your save data. The ocean waves that has a relaxing feel. It's just kind of timeless.
Why would anybody in this world be scared of that?
>>
>>11354383
Those women were all dead by the time zoomers were born.
>>
>>11355371
Because zoomers are incapable of expressing any emotion that isn't fear.
>>
>>11354135
Let me guess, PS2's red screen of error also makes you spooked?
Eerie wind sounds, Playstation hell fog, all that?
>>
>>11354135
as a kid I always found it a bit melancholic yet soothing, never really found it creepy, same goes for the gamecube menu, the only time it freaked me out was when I was trying to play late at night and my tv was louder than I thought it would be.
>>
>>11354135
You subconsciously noticed the occult.
>>
>>11354135
>zoomer here
stopped reading there

If only you knew how occult things really are

Why do you type like that?

wow, cheerful bunch here. How dare that zoomer come here and write what he thought about an aspect of retro gaming technology, you sure showed him.
>>
>>11356760
don't mind him anon, millennials are permanently butthurt about not being the "cool" young people anymore so now they have to antagonize every young person they meet
>>
>>11354135
i always liked it and thought it seemed appropriate. it's like you're in a big futuristic spaceship sitting idle waiting to launch
>>
>>11355408
>Article doesn't link the terrorist attach to Sony in any meaningful way
lame
>>
I thought it was cool and futuristic. But I'm not a zoomer who finds mundane things creepy so I don't know.

The transition from the boot to this specific menu has a particular vibe that I almost can't describe. All I can think about is soul, embodiment, incarnation, twilight zone between the void and the living world...

The red screen of death froze my soul and heart for a second the first time I saw it.
I remember being very close to the TV, the volume was a little loud and my room was almost dark.
>>
>>11356760
Zoomers have two opinions when it comes to old tech..
>it was really spooky and i cried
>it was never good.
>>
>>11356760
>wow, cheerful bunch here
Says the stalker
>>

This is probably due to the Post-9/11 world they all grew up which was constant fear mongering then combine that with the post 2010's internet they all grew up on that was some weird kind of post-irony shit where everything is fake.
It's quite sad.

Never found it creepy, but it definitely leaves an impression
I was freaked out by the memory card menu when I was a kid though. Something about all the little moving icons on that blank background felt deeply uncomfortable
>>
>>11354135
>almost as if you're terminally isolated, with no one there besides you.
Is this why zoomsters have a need to be constantly online and seek the attention of others?
>>
I completely understand. It's a toy that 98%of the time exists to blast out bright colors and loud noises and when it instead projects nothing but ambiance it's a weird feeling. Same concept with Spongebobs end credits.
>>
>>11354135
>i grew up with the ps2 and thought its system menu had uhh, idk, an eerie feel to it?
i thought it sounded chilled as fuck. what the fuck is wrong with zoomers. they are the pussy generation lmao.
