Looks like you forgot to post a good jrpg.

Puts a tale of two cities to shame
Thanks Richard Amtower!

meh: the game

Been replaying GS the last couple of weeks, and it definitely holds up. I like using Psy to puzzle solve in the overworld and the fact the game just throws PP at you so I can just fry enemies in random battles without too much trouble. Not invested in the story too much, but the gameplay carries Golden Sun.

The best part of the game is beating Deadbeard (hidden superboss, hardest enemy) at the lowest level possible. Motoi Sakuraba from Tales, Dark Souls, and Star Ocean composed it and it sounds great for GBA. It's slow IMO and a speed boost made it better (played it last summer), but kills the music.

To add to this, the battles are nice and fast at stock speed. The dialog and puzzle solving sections are much better with a speedup. At standard speed in the later dungeons you'll be doing stuff in multiple rooms in multiple floors and after 10 minutes of battles going between rooms and managing the party it's easy to forget what you were doing with the puzzles.

I actually think the game is pretty good and is held back by its story. The story isnt awful or anything either its just so long fucking winded it holds the game back. Camelot characters just never know when to shut the fuck up. Mario golf advance tour is guilty of it too with 30 minutes of blabbing before you even get to hit a fuckin ball.

it's bad because Retronauts says it's bad :(

This is one of the times some Action Replay cheats are an enhancement: when I’m puzzle solving I turn off the encounters. There’s a Repel item in the game too if you want to do it totally legit

Id prefer if Golden Sun threads didnt start with an antagonistic lie. I want to talk about the game not start a flame war.

Goyslop Sin is literally baby first's RPG for those who grew up with a GBA

When is somebody going to hack Broken Seal and Lost Age into one game as originally intended?
>>
>>11355179
Agree. All style and no substance. Worst thing about rpgs is you have to waste a long time before you can conclude it's shit.

I had always wished to go back to GS1 towns when I was playing lost age. I remember there was some flying boat glitch where you could get back to the mainland but there were no towns obviously.
