So what's the best way to play Goldeneye (on a xbox 360 controller)?
>>11356747>on a xbox 360 controllergo buy 2 n64 controllers, then come back here.
Goldeneye had a 360 release?
If you have per-game button remapping like in Retroarch you can effectively swap the sticks, putting the c-buttons on the left stick and the N64's stick on the right, set it to Solitare and it will effectively 'feel' like a modern twin stick shooter.
>>11356841OP's referring to the cancelled XBLA port that got leaked a few years ago.
>>11356841>Goldeneye had a 360 release?Nope. There was an HD remaster in development by Rare and Microsoft for the 360, and it was nearly complete too. But Microsoft couldn't get it published due to issues with Nintendo and Eon Productions. The beta did get leaks quite a few years ago, and it can be playable on a 360. This was a completely different port from the one that was released on the Xbox One X and Switch.https://youtu.be/PrIifGq9MOo?t=36
>>11356956>microsoft finally gets the license to re-release the game>they release an emulated n64 version instead of the remasterwhy?
>>11357103Think it was Nintendo's fault. Same reason only the switch version has actual online and the others don't.
>>11357154The Switch "version" has online because it's part of the shitty service it's in.
>>11356747Jesus if thats what the 360 version was going to look like, I'm glad it didn't happen. Microsoft doing something with GE was a grail for quite a few years. I'm glad they quietly released it to series x. It so smooth, and my go to when I want to play GE
>>11356891reminds me of treasure of the deep on ps1, that had also has twin stick controls, but analogs need to reversed
>>11357406I suppose you could leave it on 1.1 I'd prefer analog aiming to analog movement
>>11357418well that game had both, it's just by default it's left analog to aim, right anolog to move. aiming with left stick actually not that unusual, a lot of ps2 games used that for aiming, like almost all gta games did, but those had stationary aiming. this one has full movement
>>11356956If the team at Microsoft had finished it, could they have used it as proof of concept for a new Bond release? Or did they attempt to anyway? It's an interesting intermediate release, making you wonder what Bungie might've done with the Craig entries. Some of the cinematics are worse in terms of cinematography (Runway), while others are wayyy better (Arctic Surface of Severnaya). Strange how they added those dimly lit LED lights to the Complex as well, making it look like the Covenant homeworld, I guess they weren't interested in depicting tungsten lighting effects?
>>11357103Would you really rather give up the iconic look of the game in favor of a skyrim mod tier texture pack?
>>11357238>>11357446you can swap to the old graphics with a button press
>>11357450that doesnt justify selling mod packs and the game twice
>>11357450That's not too bad then
