>translation team blueballs their viewerbase by releasing a mere demoi have more faith in sega making a modern port of this game and its subsequent sequels than to wait for incompetent hacks on internetz to finish what they promised to do desu
>>11387359No one wants to play segaslop
If all you do is "wait" then who are you to complain? Either man up and find ways to play the game in Japanese or STFU. This "I'm no entitled I'll complain even though admitedly all I'm doing is wait" attitude is embarassing
>>11387364Shut up nerd lmao
>>11387368What's even more embarassing btw is coming to 4chan to do the complaining anonymously becausae you don't even have the guts to do that with a nickname; and think your shitty opinion is worth a new thread when there are already several threads related to the subject of fan translations
>>11387359>not playing the game in RussianPathetic.
All I get from this is that fan translators should just not announce they're doing anything at all. 27 years of going "english when" brings less whining than 25 years of "english when" and 2 years of "english soon".Someone should go kick Tom and tell him he's taking too long on Tokimeki 2 while we're at it.
>>11387414>Кaкeллa
>>11387359Sakura Taisen 2 is written at about a middle school reading level. If you studied Japanese for an hour a day, you could read it within a year. Then you would never have to complain about a bad translation or a lack of translation ever again.
>>11387359I would say just learn Japanese but given your response to not being able to play a video game is to whine and cry about it not being translated yet I don't think you have it in you. Suffer.
>>11387359What on earth are you talking about? The project lead has been posting updates on Twitter as recently as 2 weeks ago:https://x.com/NoahSteam_/status/1853220915858796681
>>11387375wtf, keyboard commandos in this day and age?>>11387896>>11389032Yeh this, first reaction was to side with op, but in the end it requires actual effort to stop depending on translation fags so, tough luck.
Learn Japanese
>>11389817Why would I waste my time learning a language just to play a game?I'd much rather waste my time crying on the internet about not being able to play a game because I didn't learn a language.
>>11387359>Translator Group fucks up the translation because MUH SENSITIVITY, JAPAN IS AWFUL TOWARDS WAMYN AND QUEERS.>Add hardcoded cringe fandub and memes so you can revert it backYeah i am still pissed.
>>11391382I would imagine these people like Japan a lot more than you do, considering they were able to learn the language while you didn’t and depend on their work.
>>11391447>Mommy, whats infiltration and subversion?
>>11391375Fair enough, but I'm studying at the slowest pace imaginable and I'm still making progress. 15 more years, I'll eventually know Japanese.
>>11391524Tell me about how the trannies prevented you from learning Japanese and doomed you to eternal casualdom.
>>11391524...was that a comeback?
>>11391667>DONT FIX IT, ADAPT! GEEZ!>JUST ASSYMILATE>ASS IMILATE
>>11391545頑張ってアノンくん!
Damn is this thread being raided by Discord? pretty gay replies
>>11391382What does this have to do with Sakura Wars 2?
>>11387359
>>11391717I don't learn japanese because I'm afraid it will turn me into a tranime poster.
>>11391687Yes and far greater than your non sequitur.
>>11391447>ImagineWell you do not need to imagine. It already is reality.
>>11387359We worship and defend incompetent hobbyists here.

>>11391447the fag behind princess crown translation project doesn't even know proper english let alone japanese and this version is prone to crashing as well. but ofc keep on defending terminally online eunechs regardless!
>>11392568>the fag behind princess crown translation project doesn't even know proper englishthis should not be a problem for you since you can hardly speak english yourself

GIMME GIMME GIMME NEED FAN TRANSLATION NOW NO WAIT FOR ME GIMME GIMME GIMME
Whining is a lot easier (and more productive tbqh) than spending hundreds of hours getting to the point where you can struggle your way through Japanese texts, with excessive use of dictionaries, and still not grasping the entire meaning at the end of it, and then having to constantly use the language so you don't forget it.Just wait for GPT 6 or something when they've finally cracked it and you no longer have to care about fantranslations.
>>11387896Real fact, I've been studying a year and I could read all of that except two Kanji.
>>11392836The "struggle through with excessive dictionary use" step starts day 1, not after hundreds of hours. How long it lasts depends on how much work you put in, but I personally became able to read without a dictionary after about a year.(Obviously even after this point it's still best to keep using a dictionary to look up words you don't know to help you learn; I still use a dictionary to help me learn English and it's my native tongue. My word of the day is "Xanthippe".)>having to constantly use the language so you don't forget itOh no, I have to use the language I learned to play video games and read books to... play video games and read books. What a horrible curse.
>>11392846>study japanese>suddenly the hieroglyphics can be decoded>holy fuck i know what it saysit's a great feeling, it's like magic
>>11392321It's clearly something to be concerned about. Everyone on /vr/ who is even knows a tiny bit of Japanese is a massive troon.>>11392846So are you saying that year of studying cased your eyesight to deteriorate? Because anyone with one good eye can read all those kanji. Understanding what they mean is another thing. Understanding what they mean in context is yet another thing.
>>11387896Can I really do it?
>>11393407>Everyone on /vr/ who is even knows
>>11393534See what I mean
>>11393407Well, I hope you can get help before you give in to your temptations.
>>11393456The difficulty is extremely front-loaded.My first few days of reading were so mind-crushingly hard, after my hour of studying I felt like some bastard had taken an ice pick to my skull. Not metaphorically, as in, "it was unpleasant", no, real, visceral fucking pain.It was so awful I bitched out of studying a lot of days in my first month. Eventually I steeled myself and forced myself to read, no matter how much I hated it.If you can do that, get through those first, terrible, terrible fucking weeks, you're basically 90% done already. The headaches lessened considerably in the second month, although they still sucked. In month three, I was reading a visual novel and noticed to my complete surprise that I didn't have a headache somehow. I was reading, and it was hard, but it didn't hurt. The headaches never came back. I learned more words, and reading became easier and easier. After a year, reading Japanese became something I did to relax. It was bizarre. Twelve months ago, reading was the most difficult challenge in my life. Now I looked forward to it. It was a treat. I could do anything in Japanese I wanted, any game, any VN, any anime, anything at all. Anime girls told me they loved me and I heard them say it in their own voices. I published a translation, and checked 4chan the next day and people were talking about my own translation, that I made. It was crazy; it felt like I had superpowers. All that in the first year. I was wishing I started earlier.I do not want to understate how hard it is to START learning Japanese."Study for an hour a day, every day" is a very easy thing to type, but it is a very difficult thing to actually do.Those first few weeks break people. Most give up.But if you really want it, you can do it. If there's some anime girl or J-pop idol out there who you love so much you'd take an ice pick to the head to hear her tell you she loves you, well, here's your chance. For me, it was worth it.
>>11393456Even an easy show like Precure is full of shit that is far above and beyond the scope of any JLPT test. Hell, just the first episode has Honoka being described as the 薀蓄女王, of which 薀蓄 you will never see even on the N1. And Nagisa's countless mis-spoken kotowaza throughout the series, from 爪の垢を煎じて食う(飲む) to 背水の瓶(陣) to 火に石油(油)を注ぐ, and more, while corrected by someone nearby, will throw off anyone who wasn't aware of them beforehand. And then being able to make out what the fairies are saying at all half the time is another quality bit of listening that is sure to filter out the inexperienced listener. These are all just examples that come immediately to mind, but suffice it to say that ANY native work, even if it's "easy," is going to be difficult for you for a long time just because there's no quick or easy way to acquire a lot of what would be considered common knowledge for a native. You CAN do it, but understand that it's gonna suck all kinds of ass for a long time and that the only cure for the pain is to read more and to listen, even if that's the source of the pain to begin with.
I like that they did the demo. It has me excited for a new game to play on my Saturn. Hopefully they do 3 and 4 eventually.
>>11394229Watching an anime raw when your knowledge of Japanese is poor is actually extremely fun.It turns any show into a mystery where you're trying to use all the clues you're given to sort out what's really going on.I went with Utena for one of my first shows, it was fucking hilarious. Every time something strange happened I assumed "Well, this must make complete sense; it's just that I misunderstood something." I only realized when I watched it years later that I was following along very well, it's just that the show is really fucking weird.I do recommend starting with a show for literal babies and working your way up though. I went with Cocotama and enjoyed it very much.
It's quite simple: you and your weird online friends produce a decent fan translation in a timely manner and without shitty memes, censorship or letting your tranny friend dub the intro then me and my headmates won't gang stalk you for the next decade.
