Diablo 2 and WarCraft 3 are the only ones that come to mind.
Diablo 2 was unique in that you could see Diablo 1 characters in the channels and each of their 3 different looks depending on their equipment, Blizzard North had absolutely no reason to go that extra mile and waste time and resources for that, but they did. I miss those motherfuckers.
WarCraft 3 RoC and TFT each had their own different race portraits or whatever you could pick earned through x amount of wins in ladder, I always thought that was interesting. I can't for the life of me remember any of RoC's because TFT made its ladder obsolete.

I absolutely HATED that PlayOnline crap showing up on this title screen. It was so out of place and clashed with the beautiful minimalism of the Gen 5 FF games.

Still, like >>11391153, I can hear it clearly even after all these years. But I also remember my seething disgust at that out of place logo reminding me of the worthless FFIX strategy guide.

It's not even that modern UI's are "soulless", they're just straight up bad. SF6 having 7 or 8 submenus just to get to the "play online" function, of which there are maybe 4 different ways to do that, is a modern example that comes to mind. Shit's just fucked and barely usable in 99% of games these days
