>>11391456I don't play those
>>11391456Bonk
>>113915062 > 1 >>>> 33 is such a lazy cash grab disappointment. i just pretend pce liquid kids is bonk 3
>>11391456
>>11391456KarnovDino RikiBonk
>>11391716Holy shit lmao
>>11391487basedprehistoric settings never got more interesting pas the god damn flintstones. i can't imagine being enthralled by a game that tries to play the prehistoric setting straight, instead of putting a new spin on it
>>11391716>ASS HOLP???
>>11391456Chuck Rock (soon to be Sneed)
Are the Adventure Island games honorary caveman games?
>>11392394I'd say they are quintessential dinocore at the very least.
Any Flintstones game developed by Taito
Despite all the other trappings I’ve never considered the Adventure Island games of the caveman genre for no other reason than Higgins wears a modern baseball cap.
Primal Rage, except the dinosaurs actually weigh something: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzoK9LFiMHICaveman olympics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXzsJ-jWhqMThe nightmare that is Trog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHPjU7TZ73A
>>11392394>>11392612I would say those are more castaway-core, like Amagon
In France we had the Prehistorik platformers that were alright. And Sapiens, some simple caveman survival simulation, was on most school computers in the 80s. There was an updated Windows port in the 90s
What's the best version of Caveman Ninja?I always played the NES version but apparently its a somewhat different game from the original.
>>11391456Live a Live and Chrono Trigger have prehistoric parts
>>11393158also E.V.O. of course
>>11393156For me, it's 1)SNES2)Arcade3)Genesis4)Amiga5)NES6)GameboyHaven't tried the rest.
trog
>>11391516>liquid kidsHoly shit finally, more conventional platformers. Anything more like this on the platform I haven't heard of?
>>11393912>Anything more like this on the platform I haven't heard of?of course brother. the pc engine is pretty overlooked when it comes to platformers. i think its because everyone knows rondo but the CD platform is otherwise lacking, most of the good ones are hucard>blue blink>new adventure island>kato and ken (not my favorite but also a wonderboy type game)>new zealand story (strange port but good game, has faithful level design unlike genesis)>makai prince (i love this one, it feels like a 16-bit version of mario land 2 in terms of vibes)>legend of hero tonma>momotaro katsugeki (keith courage if it was good. very refined game)>pac-land (SMB before SMB)>obachama kun (goofy powers)>rainbow islands (best home port. you can save your progress and go back to prior worlds to earn the gems)>parasol stars (single screen but masterpiece)>youkai douchuuki>dragon egg>horror story (toaplan port, hop on enemies)>monster lair (best home port)>jackie chan (remake)>bonze adventure>ninja gaiden (nes remake, somewhat easier than the original)legendary axe 1 and 2 are obvious mustplays. basically castlevania and rastan respectivelyninja spirit, shubibinman 3 and genji tushsin agedema are 3 of the best action games on the systemSonSon II is a masterpiece, it is a spiritual sequel to black tiger and one of the only capcom games on the system developed internallywonder boy 3 dragon trap and blood gear are both must plays by westone
>>11393158this and the cowboy one were the only 2 segments I actually liked in that game
