Just got the first part where you go into the dark world. I'm not having fun trying to find these key things. It feels like a water level where you have to manage your air, and no one likes those. Am I going to hate the rest of the game? I liked the first one but there's only so much of this I'm willing to take, what do you guys think of it?
>>11396287You get upgrades so your experience right now is not really indicative of your experience as a whole. You should know this if you've ever played a metroid game.
>>11396287That was the exact point I stopped when I played this when it came out. I had no desire to do what seemed like "the same thing but dark xD" after already liking Prime 1 but hating what a backtrackfest it was. I didn't plan on dropping the game at that point but I never touched it again.
Prime 2 is for the sophisticated.Only midwits get filtered by it and probably praise the neo-Zeldas on GCN.
Well I was told find 3 keys in dark world. So I go there and find one and explore the whole thing multiple times. Spend about 20 minutes on that, going between bubbles. I must be missing something, this kind of sucks. Then the game goes beep beep and says actually stop looking for keys and go back to the light world and get this weapon instead. So I'm having fun again, that was just kind of dumb.
>>11396287Maybe. The dark world being ugly, hard to navigate and constantly worrying about finding the light nodes is the biggest flaw of the game. The rest of it is damn good. It's like a hard mode Metroid Prime. You won't believe how hard the bosses are, and how well things are hidden.
>>11396296>you get upgrades so the shit part is less shitWhy not just make better levels?
>>11396481That's the ideal, yes. But the peak of the genre is "great levels where you start out weak and progressively feel more powerful", it's not really an either-or.
>>11396346You've got hints on. I'd take hints off. They're kind of annoying because they pull you away from what you're doing. You only turn hints on when you're actually stuck. Don't leave them on and let them be your narrative. It's better to explore the world and take your own notes so you remember where you can go when you can get an upgrade.
>>11396324I love Sunshine, MP 1 & 2 and Wind Waker. Come at me, noob.
>>11396640>Sunshine FuckfuckfuckfuckFUCKEVERYONE get back, Chad Thundercock just entered the cafeteria!
>>11396287Yeah the game double and triples down on that throughout.
>>11396287Stick around, it becomes the best Prime game.
