Xbox emu barely works on Linux as it is. Maybe in a decade and that's being generous.

It should be possible already. We already have significantly more demanding PC games running on Android. There's even people running RPCS3 on Winlator on Android. Xbox emu devs are just lazy.

Big problem is, since emu dev rarely ever makes money, it's development is almost entirely dependent on how how badly people wanna access a certain platform's games, and how difficult it is to access said games without emulation. Unfortunately, Xbox didn't really have any "killer apps" aside from Halo, which has already been ported to other systems (this isn't to say xbox doesn't have good games worth playing, but I'm talking about mass appeal here, and most of the good xbox exclusives aren't super well known).

There's tons of people who wanna play Bloodbourne on their PC, or Breath of the Wild in 4K 60fps, or access rare/unlocalized titles like VB Wario Land or Mother 3 that they could never get through official means, but unfortunately that same enthusiasm isn't there for Blinx the Cat or Crimson Skies

Does anyone have a recommended case, preferably on amazon for the retroid pocket 2s? It's got a unique shape and there doesn't seem to be a proper case for it that accommodates the sticks and triggers
>>
Which amazon usbC cords are actually good? I assume the packaged cords are junk, since I was having data transfer issues with the one that came packaged with my handheld
>>
>>11457119
I don't think you actually need to worry about accomodating the sticks and triggers too much, the system doesn't rest directly on the triggers when laid on it's back anyways. it leans on the shell. Any of these should work fine:

>>
>>11457482
It's crippled. You may recall when I said Anbernic would have to fuck up something fierce for it to end worse than the RGB30, and sure enough Max delivered again, the screen is stuck at 58hz. Knulli just went whatever and released as is as if it wasn't a problem, muOS decided instead to cap the screen at 58hz so your v-sync games run slower. Apparently Gamma fixed it yesterday along with the 34xx, but it hasn't been integrated on any CFW yet.

https://github.com/TheGammaSqueeze/rgxx_boot_package_mods/tree/rgcubexx

Other than that, the d-pad is pretty nice though not floating, the shoulder buttons are mushy membrane based which to me is godly, the ergo bumps feel great, face buttons are just right, start and select at bottom right suck, top IO is messy and takes some getting used to (ie pressing M+Vol to control brightness). There are missing LEDs on top right and bottom left of the RGB rings which are extremely apparent. The grippy finish on the bumps are stickers and I can already tell they're gonna get disgusting eventually. Speakers are surprisingly okay for down firing ones, looked up a teardown and they're the 35xx H's.

>>11457546
From what I've read, the cardinal snapping fix Gamma did was for an older kernel. The newer kernel from Anbernic has snapping dialed down and devs find it good enough.

You know how little man sounded like a schizo repeatedly stating Anbernic sticks this year didn't really feel like sticks and their motion was fucked but he couldn't put it into words? He was right, this is stiff, I don't know if it's rubbing against the white cover on the stick's surface or something, but it's really bad to move compared to RGB30's, X28's or 353V's stock sticks. Other than that, didn't look too bad on input testers, slight more snapping than (ideal) Android gets, probably improves a little with hall sticks as the sticks themselves have some snapping too.
>>
>>11457482
It’s very comfortable.
D-pad is nice but stiffer than I’d like. I don’t have a Genesis controller to compare to, but it takes significantly more actuation force than a 360 d-pad.
Mine has some backlight bleed. More than my RGB30.
The screen refreshes at 58.6 Hz instead of the usual 60 Hz, so you’ll get stutters unless you adjust emulation speed to compensate.
>>
>>11457613
Might also add, this is -not- the RGB30's screen, it's cooler in comparison.

>notice weird black spots on my Vita when it’s dark
>”Oh no, the OLED burnt out!”
>check online
>”actually, it was like that since launch”
>”Yeah, early OLEDs were just like that. Just try to avoid black areas onscreen if you can”
So lemme get this straight. This OLED, device, with OLED’s main selling point being true blacks, just has random unavoidable screen rot when the screen goes black? ON LAUNCH? Thereby negating the main selling point of OLED? How does ANYONE shill this over using a Retroid device instead?
>>
>>11458254
The Vita was really good for it's time and that's why people still shill it to this day. But it's almost 2025 and anyone who still thinks it can stand against modern chinkhelds is being stubborn or a fanboy.

What I really really want out of a handheld is analog video output. This seems to be a huge hole in the market. They all have HDMI output but what I want is 240p RGB/Component/Composite video out.
That and two normal USB 3.0 ports for plugging X-input controllers into.

So in addition to using it as a handheld it's an all-in-one 240p on a CRT emulation solution.
>>
>>11458363
I don't see why one of these adapters the Misterfags use wouldn't work. I also don't understand how you have access to enough CRTs to not just use a Wii or Mister.

This will only work if you can get the video hardware to output a 240p resolution.

An FPGA-based handheld might be able to do it.
Famiclones and other SOC console clones sometimes have composite video output. They could probably be modded for RGB output.

>>11458730
It looks interesting but I'll wait for people to actually get their hands on it and say whether it's properly sturdy or not and if the buttons are good. Controllers like these are hard to not make feel like wobbly shit. And the magnet has to be really good too.
>>
>>11458730
It's still super fucking thick. Would probably have to detach it and store it in the opposite pocket. I don't know why they moved away from circle pads, if they were concerned about the stick click then they could have put back buttons that are mapped to L3/R3. Originally got an RG35XX in 2023, got me addicted to the current state of chinkhelds after dismissing them almost thirty decades as being "cheap Chinese knockoffs" like those fucking "PVP" PSP clones that only played twenty bootleg NES games made out of gumball machine plastics.
Ironically my next would be the R35S, then ordering the R36S before my R35S even arrived in the mail.
This year I've been enjoying the RG28XX a lot despite always being a vertibro due to the GameBoy Pocket, GBC, and GBA SP.

The RG34XX looks like a fucking stupid joke and completely redundant with the SEVEN other Allwinner handhelds Anbernic has recently put out in the past year. HOWEVER... The Powkiddy V10 looks like a perfect version of the Anbernic RG34XX in a vertical form factor.

Before I ever got the original RG35XX, the only viable chinkheld I had ever heard of prior was the RG280V due to how much it was being spammed on /v/ three years ago for being able to "'flawlessly' play PS1 games in your pocket for under $100!". I was interested at the time, but its size, actual performance, and price were 3much5me. That og RG35XX being in the GameBoy Pocket's almost exact form factor and being under $70 is what made me finally cave. My issue is... do I really want a Powkiddy V10 when I am already so happy with my RG28XX? The V10 would basically be the "ideal" version of that original Anbernic RG280V that I originally wanted but never got. It has that perfect 3:2 screen for GBA titles. It comes in a better form factor for half the price. But I don't just wanna buy Chinese shit just for the sake of trying it and owning it, I wanna actually use it, and I don't know if I would be using the V10 over the RG28XX.

Ideally I would upgrade to the MagicX Mini Zero 28 which seemed like the ideal, ultimate upgrade to the RG28XX. But who knows when the fuck that will ever come out at this point, it just went from a November release to a questionable maybe January? It's as ridiculous as the Miyoo Mini Flip

I’m more surprised some people legit thought the mini wasn’t its replacement.

Uhh... Budget windows?

>mini

>rp2s

Not the point. If retroid wants the mini to replace the 2s, it means the 2s is outta here. That’s how it is for every chink company except anbernic since they have an endless supply of those shit mips chips so you still see them selling those pap handhelds.

How long can I expect the RP2S to last if I take care of it? It's my first RP device and I'm kind of a fan now

Retroid doesn’t use bad emmc’s like the original 2 days, so that won’t die on you. They only started getting weird with battery replacements starting with the 3’s shell and anything trigger than that, so you can replace the battery without soldering different parts if it shits itself.

Is there a way to use my Odin 2 with an external controller, but also keep the built in controls working at the same time? So I don't have to keep remapping them?

work perfectly fine for me

Too thicc now. Not buying.
>>

It's a fair price. You can get a switch lite for 100 used. The mod chip costs almost nothing so you saved time on installation.

>>”actually, it was like that since launch”
can confirm. My friend gave me his since he wanted the white one. He only had the black one for like 6 months. It had the black spots on it already. When the picture is moving you don't notice it, but it fades to black, it can be noticeable.

Tbqh, I don't use it for anything other than Vita gayming.
