i missed out on cool pc games growing upi was stuck on console
>>11490905Back in those days people didn't know how to assemble a PC so they paid an insane amount of money for a prebuilt when they could've built an AMD Duron PC for $500 or less.
>>11490978i missed out on vietcong and battlefield 1942reason is family didnt want me addicted to a gaming pc
>>11490905>gun is a spriteyour consoles did better
>>11491075It was designed to run on a cheap GPU. Consoles didn't have fast enough CPU and enough RAM to render the voxel terrains. The Delta Force made for consoles, Black Hawk Down, was less open world and cut up into chunks.
>>11491160>voxel terrainsbig empty fields with nothing in them are not impressive
>>11490905The Delta Force games were really cool at the time.>>11490978>$500 or lessI paid $230 in CAD rubles for 128mb of sd-ram in 1999. There was some flooding or some shit in some Asian country that was a major supplier. It was the most expensive part of my build at he time.Thank you for reading my blog.
>>11491231RAM wasn't so cheap 1999. By 2000-2001 it was getting much better.
>>11490983And they were right. Online gaming addiction spree in the early 2000s was truly bad.
>>11491450Definitely not. A few years later 512mb ddr was about $80 per stick.
>>11491608I was talking about 128MB DDR2.
there's a mission in delta force 2 where you're dropped off by a heli and when you move away it flies awaypretty sure I managed to board it right before takeoff as a kid, blew my mind back then
>>11490905you didnt miss out on much, dont worry. consoles have been way superior until the modern era where the consoles just became PCs in a box (and theyre shit, just like pcs)
>>11491804Damn PCs really are making consolekiddies mald.
>>11492045He's right though. PCucks massively exaggerate the quality of their games compared to console based ones. It's like, there were and are great PC games that you wouldn't see on console, but the reverse was always at least as true and you'd never see anything as good as Zelda on PC until that could be properly emulated and eventually ported. Furthermore PCucks seem obsessed with unnecessary complexity that leans towards jank along with arbitrary freedom to do dumb, casual things like quicksave at every moment, over the deliberate and elegant design you get from well made console titles.
>>11492543Everytime someone praises a PC game, I try it out and it looks like pic related, with the budget being spent entirely on "physics" and nothing else. The initial release is usually a buggy mess and there are always patches (and fan patches) that you need just to make it bearable. No memorable art design, basic gameplay and barely any music at all. I'd feel pity for PCfags if I thought about them at all.
>>11492575>No memorable art design, basic gameplay and barely any music at all.Perfect description of the average PSX game really
>>11492575you're thinking about them right now
>>11492575You just described every N64 game
>>11492543>Zeldayour bait would've been better if you at least mentioned an actual good console game
>>11490905Same but the opposite. I missed all the cool stuff on consoles because I only had a PC
>>11490905>not having an n64, playstation, gameboy and your older brother's PC to play blizzard, westwood and idsoft games oncouldn'tve been me
>>11491231I paid about 50 US for 2MB of RAM in 93 so that I could play Syndicate (needed 4MB). This was during the massive RAM shortage after the factory that made most of the world supply of the black resin used to encapsulate ICs burned to the ground.
>>11491160Did you actually play Black Hawk Down? The intro campaign level is flying over the city and trying to take down the rocket launcher guys before they shoot down your heli. Most of the multiplayer maps are full towns where half the players would wander off into the hills in the distance and snipe with an M249 machine gun. I remember one map in particular had a helicopter that would hover in the middle of a city, and then fly around the city in a circle once it detected someone was onboard long enough. People would use it to snipe at people from above until someone cleared the heli's cabin with a rocket. The heli was invincible, so people would just wait for it to land again.I played Black Hawk Down on a shitbox Dell P4, and the levels were just as large and spread out as prior Delta Force games. Playing online gave me paranoia from constantly coming under fire from some asshole two miles away.
>>11491804>>11492543>>11492575>malding tranny-autist consolecuckDamn he maldin, lmao>posts some game no one's ever played or heard of and pretends it sums up every PC gameDAMN HE MALDIN, LMAOMeanwhile, while you were Playing Star Cuck- I mean, Star Fox in 1993, PC Chads were playing this.
>>11495565>posts a game that looks worse than the post he's replying togood job proving his point, retard
>>11495574Strike Commander came out 5 years before Motocross Madness, you dumb fuck retarded dipshit, lmao, holy shit, you have cow pies for brains kid?
>>11495578and? you posted something shitty of your own accordtry posting something that actually looks good next time if you want to look credible, retard
>>11495585I posted a better game that Star Fox on the SNES, retard, lmao.>on your own accordI was literally directly comparing it to Star Fox, you dumb fuck shit stain, know how to read junior? Lmao.>try posting something that actually looks good next time if you want to look credible, retardHow about you post a console game that's actually good, lmao, and not bing-bing-wahoo baby bullshit for 4 year olds.
>>11490905>>11492575>>11495565Amazing how these games are years apart and still look equally shit. It's the same desert landscape with nothing in it across three different genres lmao.
>>11492575You know there was another game that released on PC in 1998. It's name is on the tip of my tongue...Starts with an H...Half...something?
>>11495591*yawn* You were saying?
>>11495591Holy copium batman! What's amazing is how these games look so incredibly "shit", and yet console games looked even more shit!
>>11494674thisunironically my biggest fucking life regret is not being able to convince my parents to get me a PS2 when I was a kid
>>11492543lol console babies seething are never not pathetic
>>11490905All the cool games were on console, you didn't miss much.
>>11495606>no Ding ChavezYou will not survive
>>11495606>snow landscape with nothing it in, not even a skyboxlmao
>>11495804Why? So you could play buckets of sports shovelware and jarpigs?
>>11496289>nothing in itSame map, by the way.>not even a skyboxBecause that map uses "weather effects" which "obscures the skybox" genius. Boy, you really are mad, aren't you?
Felt bad for anyone who didn't have a high end arcade in their city.Seeing Model 3 arcade games in the mid to late 90's was mind blowing.
>platform wars in 2025 in the spoonfeeding threadIt's /vidya retro/, not /vidya retard/.
>>11496289>>11497859damn, nigga got rekt
>Can easily play the best of 40 years of both console and PC games for free>never been easier with more hardware, emulation, etc. choices>Somehow act like you have to choose between one or the otherexplain this autism
>>11498545It's one anon who goes into every PC thread and starts a console-war.
>>11498564It's even dumber because they both clearly excel at different types of games and clearly had different audiences.
>>11490978>Back in those days people didn't know how to assemble a PC so they paid an insane amount of money for a prebuiltits still like this
>>11498579Tbh prebuilt margins have come down a lot unless you're buying epic streamer company prebuilts, if you wait for sales you can get prebuilt at cost or even cheaper than what you could build them for. Still better to build them yourself but with the rise of pc popularity there's been a bit of a race to the bottom with prebuilt margins. Again, the streamer hype companies and retard brands like alienware still charge obscene markups but those companies are tard filters anyways.
>>11498579>pay an INSANE amount of money for a prebuiltI have a prebuilt and it only cost me like 1,300$ without tax. Came with a 1 TB SSD, Ryzen 7 7700 CPU, 16 GB DDR5 RAM, and an Nvidia 4060. That's pretty cheap.
