Im looking for extreme sports and also racing games
On ps1 I know almost all of them, but on ps2 I might be unaware of some unpopular ones. If you know any, then tell me please

Neopets is extremely famous so by definition it is not a lesser known game at all
please exit the thread
>>
>>11491428
You tell me ANYONE cares about Neopets in the modern day. Not even the church of scientology cares, otherwise they would've kept it. Alright, something s little less famous.
World Destruction League.
>>
>>11491441
>World Destruction League
I know it, because i basically had to look through every single tank game on PS1 in order to find the one i played as a kid
(Which is this one, really good game, i would recommend any parent to let their kid experience this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ShSFhwYQdo
and there is an extremely similar game to it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-QO51zqe10)
but havent gotten to playing it
Its interesting that there is a ps1 and ps2 world destruction league game with the same title; there is quite a few games that released on both platforms around the same time but the ps1 would always be inferior in amount of content and amount of detail, most famous example i know is the wacky races games released on ps1 and ps2

It's part of a trilogy, start with the first game. They're all similar but fun. Spoiler: beating the championship once is never the end of the game, you have to play it several times to get new tracks.

Then on top of the trilogy there are 3 spin offs on PSX, including a racing """RPG""" and a boat racer, but I didn't like them at all. However there is also a Saturn game which is tons of fun and ended up being my favourite of the series.
There are also 2 games on GBA, they're okay but they're too easy.

>>
>>11494643
I think this one might play better with a PAL copy. It feels too fast at 60fps.
>>
>>11491414
Brahma Force. The pinnacle of Genki's mecha FPS games. Very underappreciated and worth playing. A pity that they stopped making games like this.
Destrega. 3D fighting game that is somewhat similar to arena fighters like Power Stone but with the focus on the fighters using their projectile magic. Fast paced action and simple controls that are easy to learn make this game fun to play and easy to get into. Pretty good graphics for it's time and a great OST as well. I don't understand why it is almost never mentioned when the PSX 3D fighting games are being brought up.
Panzer Bandit. A beatemup game heavily inspired by Guardian Heroes but it does enough things on its own with the main focus on fast paced action to be distinct enough. The game is JP only and there is no translation patch but for a game like it's not really an issue. Beatemups is not the most prominent genre on the PSX and compared to the few Final Fight alike belt scrollers and clunky 3D titles that there is Panzer Bandit stands out a lot.
Jet Moto '98. The JP release of Jet Moto 2. It fixes the biggest problem of the original release by toning down the brutal difficulty of the original release both by making the cpu controlled racers perform less perfect and adjusting collision detection on the tracks. The game is still a plenty challenging but no longer feels unfair while retaining all its strong points of jet physics, tracks design, aesthetics and absolutely fantastic OST. This is what the Championship Edition re-release should have been instead of that weird romhack.

Global Domination.

Its a game about shooting missiles at countries. It has a story, with live action cut scenes and everything, I think it's some James Bond-esque plot.

Anyway, I played it as kid and never finished it, because I couldnt understand what I was supposed to do. So I pick it up again as an adult and try to figure it out.

I'm stuck at mission 2. It says I have to intercept a submarine that is escaping into India: I have to kill it with a Cruiser, but I can never catch it. Other people on the net seems to have the same issue and no clear solution. The few videos on YT are failing this mission. Some say that you have to press X to get the cruiser to use its depth charges, didnt work. Other said to attack India's harbor so the sub cant dock, but theres no way to attack it as offensive weapons are disabled for the mission.

Now, I remember that as a kid I did complete this mission once, but I dont remember how. Anyone knows?

not really a game but nowhere better to post this on the 'log
I'm considering getting a new laser for my PS1, my original one still mostly works (though clearly not perfectly) but I want to preserve it. I was thinking of just putting it inside of whatever the new one's packaged in and putting it in a drawer or something.
Would this be fine or does it necessitate any extra care? I'd like for it to remain functional in case anything happens and out of love I guess.
