Pretty much
You forgot "minus fun gameplay"
Adding those two games should produce two necks, but Crash has zero necks. Are you suggesting that Donkey Kong's neck is somehow actually the negation of Sonic's neck?
>>11494118Crash games is what DK64 should have been like
>>11494118Sonic's Ass
>>11494118I think the environments in Crash also mimic the ones in DKC almost 1:1. I think you have labs instead of factories but aside from that it's pretty close.
>>11494274Fruits and boxes are also like bananas and barrels from DKS
>>11494118But Crash came out before Sonic 3D.
Crash bandicoot ran at 60 fps right?
>>11494253Theres a reason why no other game tried to emulate the Crash formula.
>>11494356Weren't there like 50 Crash clones
>>1149435430
>>11494361Even Mario has been copying crash since the gamecube
>>11494121it's already absent
>>11494363so its unplayable trash
>>11494347Okay, let it be Antarctic Adventure then.
>>11494118Except no because Carlos el topo que gira also had sidescrolling levels, and levels where you had to run towards the camera.
>>11494365marios been trying to copy mario 64, no one copies crash
I really really really wanna fuck this ferret
>>11494545>no one copies crashMiyamoto does
>>11494121>>11494356>>11494462>>11494545When did /vr/ began to suddently hate Crash? It reminds me of how "Sonic was never good" suddently got parroted in every single Sonic thread, it's tiresome.
>>11494118Sonic's ass
>>11495083Loud minority overcoming the majority. They got tired of calling out the retard who always insists Crash is bad because he is still seething that he gets called out for sucking at the game. So now you get those who never cared about crash aligning with him despite never even touching the thing. Unfortunately when it happens this way, the ones who get tired from arguing no longer want to participate anymore and leave for a period of time or possibly never. When they come back and see that the loud minority is prominent now with even less activity they no longer want to come back and at best just lurk periodically.Of course this is excluding a certain other design feature driving people away but that is a another story.
>>11495145I don't think it's just this, but at the same time I see your point, by now when I see all of the negative posts that flood every Crash or Sonic thread I rarely engage and reply, it's just the same arguments over again and it gets dull, tiresome even, especially when 90% of the criticism for them is just people getting filtered and not trying to not suck. Also the 15 minute timer, posts being called spam for no reason, and 3 day bans for dumb reasons, is also a pain, this website didn't suck so much a few years back, damn it.
>>11495246Someone said crash was better than DK64 and I said no. Now youre having a fucking existential meltdown relax moron.
>>11495253I wasn't targeting any anon specifically, just an overall theme I'm noticing, don't be obsessed and thinking you're the main character whose opinions people care so much about individually.
>>11495271dont reply to my posts then weirdo.
>>11495083shaking the can of worms by saying this probably but: nintendo kids
>>11495278It's good to quote examples that display the general theme I mentioned, that's all, so chill out, anon.
>>11495083>>11495279It is just what a lot of retro gaming is online any more. People bringing in old console war shit and generally being fags for attention. Most of them don't care they just want to have the argument.
>>11495083Crash is pretty okay but the failure of contemporary ports and the sub-mediocrity of crash 4 burnt out any good will the franchise still had.
>>11495083Crash was always good, but as a whole the series isn't consistantly exceptional, even if it has a lot of merit to it.1 is a decent, solid platformer that's just a bit too simple and has dumb things like the bonus level save system. The game is made quite interesting by the 'get all boxes without dying' gem mechanic though and is well worth playing.2 is the one that's actually terribly overrated. It's basically a "kid's game" that's mostly fluff, any given level will likely either offer close to no challenge or have some random hidden bullshit in it that it barely clues you in about, so it's not even fun to try to 100%. Introducing the slide is maybe the best thing it does. This is the one "that was never good".3 is legit one of the best platformers ever made. The motorcycle and jet-ski levels are really cool and add a nice level of variety to the game, but people keep acting like they're something wrong with them somehow, especially when they're some of the most satisfying levels to run time trials on. The time trials in particular are what really make the game, it's an interesting challenge to run through the levels as fast as possible with the moves you get, which involves a lot more creativity and technical skill than what's needed for the previous games.>>114962434 is one of the strongest games overall, not quite as good as 3, but still very full of substance and good design. It does end up bloated with some repetitive nonsense, but its moveset and selection of mechanics and decision to actually stuff levels full of (mostly) interesting challenge goals from the prior series makes it actually really good. The way it drops the increasing difficulty after the Chinese levels unfortunately causes it to lose direction somewhat, but it does the best job of getting the most out of the core gameplay of any of the games.
>>11495083Nintendo fans have this weird obsession with trying to rewrite history and pretending anything besides Nintendo was never quality or accepted. The Genesis popularity as a whole, the sonic series, the popularity of PC games in the 90s, the idea the PS2 was just purchased as a DVD player, and now the crash series I guess. Very strange fanbase
