But you lose the dvr functionality completely because the drive is too small to partition for it.Right now the psx2 is kind of doomed, but they also were physically manufactured later so the drives are newer. I'm not too worried about it yet because drive emulators will come in time.

Not to mention that because these are Japanese exclusive consoles you have to mod it if you want to play non-japanese games on it or use a non-japanese power source like the PAL standard
