This game was on almost every kid's library of ps2 games in South America, it was poverty Smash Bros for those without a Gamecube lol, good fun still.

So happy to be just the right age for DBZ to be the only shonen in town growing up (There was also YuYu Hakusho which was also really cool, and Ronin Warriors but nobody liked that).

After being spoiled on DBZ and YuYu Hakusho everything like that they tried marketing to Americans afterwards just felt like cheap annoying crap, and it was.

I remember only being interested in this game for DBZ and crossovers being more interesting back then.

The obnoxiousness comes from the portraits being made at high FOV/low focal length
It makes them feel up close like they're annoying little shits invading your private space and you want to punch them
Pic related has similar framing (but at least uses varied angles) but since they were rendered at lower FOV/longer focal length, you don't get that unpleasant feeling from the portraits
