What is some essential playing to get all the references in the Parodius games? I've cleared Gradius 1, 2, and Life Force. Briefly checked out Parodius Da and it looks like the first boss is the Track and Field mascot?

>>11498080I think some of it is genuinely randomness, but if you're a classical music fan then theres even more references to get! Love this series and wish we'd get a physical collection along with Gradius. Also I'd like to recommend checking out the SNES ports. Gokujou in particular as it has 2 exclusive characters.
>>11498160Nice, I got the impression the PS1/SAT versions of Gokujou were better, so maybe I'll clear those and come back to the SNES version. I realize I should probably play Penguin Adventure and Knightmare. Seems to be far more references to Konami's MSX games than console games.
>>11498163Happy to own the PS1 and Saturn ports myself, though they include slightly annoying load times they play fantastically well! The SFC ports do have slowdown, but as someone who still isn't the best at shmups it's quite welcomed.

>>11498160I would love a collection, but it will be next to impossible to get one intact since they already removed songs for the PSP collection, that soured my enjoyment of the games (specially Oshaberi since it's my favorite). In anything, they'll change more stuff (and censor some) unless they renegotiate some licenses (since Gokujou the game has the JASRAC logo in package)
