>Enemy Zero began life on Sony's PlayStation. Its unveiling at the 1996 PlayStation Expo in Tokyo was described by journalists as the highlight of the show. Irritated by Sony's failure to meet even a third of preorders for the PlayStation version of D (and to a lesser extent, their policy that all marketing for third party games had to be approved by them), at a press conference during the expo Kenji Eno made a shocking move. Eno showed a preview of Enemy Zero. At the end of the clip the PlayStation logo appeared, but slowly transitioned into the Sega Saturn logo, indicating that the game would now be a Saturn exclusive.

Are Eno games actually good or they're just artsy kusoge?

Yes.

D is pretty unremarkable. At least as I remember it. D2 sounds interesting at least.

They're interesting. Not good, but interesting.
He even made a sound visual novel for blind people (nip nip only). IIRC the screen would be pretty much a blank color all the time, even for non-blind players.

That's just an audio book with extra steps

Is there any video proof of this?

Definitely the latter. Along with Osamu Sato, he's the posterboy of Japanese DUDE THEY SMOKED WEED LMAO games from the 90's.

They aren’t very good, but they’re experimental and unique. I have a huge soft spot for D2 despite its many faults because it has soul and at least I felt something when I finished it.

The artbook for this has a bunch of manga pages devoted to a girl wearing a crotch strap outfit like the protag from the non-retro Citadel game. One scene has her taking a shit on a space toilet mounted on the wall of a bottomless Death Star shaft. I have no idea what any of this has to do with the game.

They're not good. If the same exact games got released by a western dev they'd be tossed in the pile of forgotten games from that era. Eno only gets cred for being Japanese and the way he circumvented the ESRB with D.

I WANTED to like Enemy Zero but it's not at all fun to play.

My best guess is that was all art made for what Enemy Zero was at one point planned to be before it ended up becoming a low-grade Alien ripoff.
