The DKC1 pre-render promotional artwork (as well as the original KI) didn't use any fur shading techniques. I would imagine that the success of DKC allowed them to upgrade to 'newer' SGI workstations. Rare couldn't achieve this look on the N64 hardware. But they were able to simulate it to some degree on the GameCube, and Conquer Reloaded on the Xbox.

Starfox Adventure is no more particularly flawed than any other post-Kazooie rare game.People pretend that Starfox Adventure is some significant cutoff point that Rare went downhill, instead of being the seventh 80%, 4/5, B+ console game they put out in 5 years, during which the only proper 5/5 they made was Perfect Dark.It's fine.

That misplaced Zelda shit isn't definitely for the franchise, but it definitely called for an idea.I'm thinking Sin & Punishment but not railroaded shit and schizo jank, but still arcadey and more awesome. Something like Kid Icarus Uprising's grounded sections, Gotcha Force, Gunstar Heroes, and Vanquish.

>>11509221I think the strategy aspects from Star Fox 2 and Command would be a good direction to focus on, to me that stuff goes a long way in bolstering the frankly barebones arcade flight gameplay, making both short and long-term planning and management of the Lylat map itself just as important as your ability to fly and shoot.imo the thing they should focus on in any case is player choice in regard to stuff like the player character, the ship, etc. A big part of this series' appeal, and really probably the only reason it retains such a dedicated fanbase, is because of the likable cast. If you could change pilots in order to hear new dialogue, pick what ship you're piloting, and maybe even swap your weapon loadout, that stuff would increase replay value exponentially. Let the player hire a whole crew of furry mercs, and buy and sell ships like in Crimson Skies.
