Is this better than the two HuCards?
>>11507294US TG-16 version is on 1 hu card.
>>11507316I know that, I live in Japan.
>>11507294I mean on one hand it is the same game as the Hu-cards, just with an arranged soundtrack and cutscenes, on the other, to get it you need an expensive CD add-on. Also I don't like that you are forced to use the arranged soundtrack, with all the space on CD the arcade original soundtrack should be an option. The arranged isn't bad but it feels a little complex when played over R-Type, I feel the original soundtrack suits the game better. Not sure if the load times are bad.>>11507316That is definitely one of the pluses of the TurboGrafx, the complete game on a single Hu-Card. Not released in Japan or compatible with their systems. Such a shame they never released it there, must be annoying having such a short game split over 2 cards.
>>11507294I personally would just play R-Types on the PS1. They're 99% arcade perfect. The 1% that isn't is divisive among R-Type fans. I'm in the camp of loving. The PS1 runs at 60fps which is a little faster than the original. I think it improves the game, but there are others who hate it.
R R R-R-TYPE
>>11507390>SpaceWhen you deal with Redbook audio, you have a time limit and this game has voiced dialogue too, so there isn't that much space to deal with for both soundtracks.
>>11507294If it's anything like Bonk 3 on CD I would say probably not
Shmups don't need stories especially not anime cringe.
>>11507742But anon, what about preteen girls piloting flying death machines and massacring millions of our own soldiers during an excercise mission?
>>11507390>must be annoying having such a short game split over 2 cards.eh, the password is kinda nice becuase the second half of r-type is sooooo much harder than the first half, especially since hudson added a new boss on level 6i dont really want to keep no-diffing the first 3 levels over and over (which desu are the best levels) just to get buttfucked at the RNG boss on level 5
>>11507567bonk 3's soundtrack is pretty meh, so honestly the CD version is a mild improvement
