I don't expect anything super similar to DMC (aside from Rising Zan which I'm aware is a weird outlier) just interested in whatever attempts were made at 3D action games before the 6th gen.

You'll be playing some beat em ups like Gekidoh. Try the Alita game on PS1, Guts Rage on Dreamcast, Zombie Revenge. Spikeout by extension the Xbox sequel
