Are you ever outside the mecha just shooting at people with ordinary weapons? Or is most of the game in a mecha?
>>11509235It has both levels where you're controlling the mecha and levels where you're on-foot, but they're always separate levels so you don't get to hop in/out at will.
>>11509235You bet there's fuckin on foot levels.
>>11509265Enemy reaction depend on framerate, if you play at 60 like you're supposed to they're still fast but they're manageable
>>11509235I dunno try playing the game for more than 5 minutes?
>>11509235Ah fuck I remember buying this on gog many years ago. Played for an hour, didn't like it.
>>11509673Took me 40 minutes to finally get to the first on foot level which was really fun. I'm not very fond of mech stuff, your enemies are always small and far away. Combat is best when it's up close and personal.
>>11509265If you slowly clear corners tactical style, you can usually shoot them in the leg and kill them before they're aware of you. Basically the on-foot sections want to be played slow paced like Counter-Strike and the mech sections want to be played like Unreal.
>>11509689Foot levels ruin the game
>>11509235i tried to get it to run yesterday. the dgvoodoo method worked, but the game crashes the moment i click either of the mouse buttonsanyone got a solution for this?
>>11510160Get an XP/98 VM?
For me it's the Akuma 12
>>11510160I played it recently and iirc I used some fan patch I got the link from pcgamingwikiHOWEVER; the framerate was extremely choppy, which is when I realized the more overlaid stuff there was on screen (dialogues etc) the more choppy it got. And, once I turned off the HUD, the game ran perfectly fine except in the rare dialogues scenes I had to put up with and I'd just bring the hud back on whenever I wanted to have a lookand this is the story of how this collage ended up hudless
>>11510258i got no clue on how to do thati hoped there'd be a fix
>>11510285Yeah I always pick that one. It has some Evangelion vibes.
>>11510310Are all mechs the same?
>>11510335Some are faster or can take more damage than others, but they are almost the same.
>>11510310More than vibes, it was a direct love letter. I was acquainted with the lead dev, we were in the same pre-forum internet anime sekrit society. There's all sorts of stuff shoved in there, like Shinji's walkman. Lots of obvious Shirow-isms and stuff too.
>>11509265I love this game it's so jank and 90s
"I have my orders sir, PLEASE be nice to me!"
>>11509810This
>>11511484I had a Linux native boxed version.
This game was a lot of fun but the on foot levels are an absolute nightmare to play.
