I dunno. It was pretty fun. It's just a lightgun shooter with an undersea theme.

This is my favorite Sega arcade game and possibly favorite Sega game. Its two decades late to the party, but its cool seeing it finally getting an official home port of sorts in the new Yakuza. There should have been a double pack on the Wii of this and Lets Go Jungle.

I still would love to own a full sit down machine some day.

I really want standalone releases of them, since I'm not sold on modern LAD games after finishing 7, those games deserve it (sadly it won't sell that much).

It annoys me that they don’t release them standalone or in a collection. It took until 2024 for Sega to finally rerelease Spikeout and it’s only available as an arcade game in Infinite Wealth.

why not? Looks intriguing at least

They thought that an underwater shooter would be pretty neat, they didn't know some faggot would bitch about it a quarter of a century later on some gay kitschy hobby forum.

I loved this game as a kid. It's shocking how many great Sega arcade games just never saw a home port. This was 98, prime Dreamcast territory.

Looks fun. What exactly are you comparing about OP?
Are you just being negative and dramatic to drive conversation

Fun game. Whats the problem?

I really want to try this one but setting up model 3 emulation with the sindens has been a nightmare and Pi4 can't emulate it well.

How do you aim in the Yakuza port? Gyro or d-pad?

It looks fun as fuck and I would have played the fuck out of it as a lad had it been in arcades where I lived. Was it America only or something?
>>
>>11509931
My local barcade still has this

Probably my favorite HOTD-esque game

No. It was released worldwide. But Ocean Hunter wasnt a massive hit seller like House of the Dead.

Ocean Hunter was a "modest" success. So it was uncommon to see them. Not rare...but not common either. Right in the middle of rarity scale.

Out of every 5 arcades I visited. I might only see Ocean Hunter at 1 or maybe 2.

Im hoping honestly its just the d pad. While it looks and plays similar to a light gun game, the original arcade version was really closer to something like Revolution X with big joysticks that look like guns. It would be cool if it supports something like the motion controllers, but I really just want to see if i can find a nice flight stick or something that can semi replicate the feel of the big two handed guns.

>fought stick
Tried it. My stick even has rumble built in, but I couldn't get it to work with the emulator. The experience isn't fun without the rumble. Whoever made the emulator did a half ass job.

Mame sucks too.

This game rules, I don't know what is wrong with you. They had this game at a pizza arcade in my hometown when I was a tweenager and I loved it.
>>
>WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
Tired of this shit meme.
>>

Ocean Hunter was a fun arcade game. Don't emulate it and ruin the experience. Go find an arcade cabinet and experience it like your ancestors did in the 90s.

This is legitimately my favorite arcade game of all time.
