I randomly remembered this game today and started thinking about how much this game series seriously impacted my childhood and life and how nobody even knows it existed today. Do you guys have any similar games in your life?
> how nobody even knows it existed todayWouldn't be that categorical. Myth was quite a breakthrough back in its day, and I'm pretty sure, thanks to the fans the game is playable on modern OSs. Warhammer: Dark Omen, Myth and Total War (the first two) were the games that nearly quenched my childhood thirst for playing toy soldiers but in a much more complex way.
>>11511998I’ve played it quite a bit in recent years. I have a toaster laptop from 2014 that I mainly use to play retro games, and Myth II + mods is permanently on there.
>>11511998It's funny you posted this, because I was just listening to the Myth 2 soundtrack. I could never get past the first couple of levels as a kid, so I'd usually just watch my dad play.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IQY_js0DkM
>>11511998I had Soulblighter as a kid and only played a little of it. It was too different from Starcraft and AoE to appeal to me. I think I'd like it a lot if I played it now.
Casualties...
>>11513249>tried to beat the first level of Soulblighter on the hardest difficulty recently>got my shit pushed in repeatedly and had to spend 4+ hours to finally beat itThat shit is no joke. Can't even begin to imagine how much worse it gets as the game progresses.
