What was the best retro wrestling game ?
>>11512495Backyard Wrestling Don’t Try This At Home featuring the insane clown posse
For me it's
>>11512495some people say Vendetta was good but I've never played itmany people say Raw and Raw 2 are bad but I liked themmost people say a Smackdown vs Rawboomers say No Mercy or WCW Revenge
Super Fire Pro Wrestling obviously. Never played them so pretend I listed the objectively best /vr/ one in the series.
>>11512495WWF No Mercy and the various mods based on it.
>>11512495I still choose WWF No Mercy as my favorite wrassling game. It has the big stars like Stone Cold, The Rock, Mankind, Triple H, etc from 1999 that were huge in wrestling, it feels better to play than previous AKI titles and especially the stiffness of WWF Attitude. A decent variety of match types, Create a wrestler being quite substantial, and the championship modes which have a lot of storylines and paths to mess around in. Plus there is decent mod support to enhance it further.>>11512520That doesn't work for me brother.
>>11512612>That doesn't work for me brother.I read that in Hogan's voice. lol
>>11512495This one is actually very good. Great presentation for the era with each wrestler having unique moves, an animated ref, commentary table and camera man to boot. Compare to the first WWF NES game which just has you wrestling in a void.I like Super Fire Pro Wrestling Premium X the best. Fantastic roster and the gameplay and animation has this real snap and weight to it I like. The other FP games are good but never resonated with me like Premium X does.>>11512520I like the very puro music and presentation to this one.
Tecmo World Wrestling for the NES. Tons of moves at your disposal, a play by play guy who van get really animated, and a crazy final boss.
OP's picrel is my choice. As an early NES owner there was only the black boxes. My friend and I had a lot of fun with it. I would own him with the Amazon. Neck bite ftw!
>>11512495Not this but I'm feeling the need to post the box art
>>11512773He was my favorite character. I liked how he'd bite someone, then shake his head at the ref as if to say 'I didn't do it" lol
>>11512903I can make a better box art than that. Sega really didn't know what they were doing.
>>11512495He's literally me
Oh nice, just the thread I was afraid to make.Could I get a list of good Aki engine games? Apparently people swear on that engine.
>>11513070I played the nigga in the pink leotard. Made it humiliating when I suplexed niggas.
The GOAT
>>11513130I consider this more of a fighting game then a wrestling game because the play mechanics are more like what you'd find in your average 2-D fighter. Still a great game, though. Especially when playing against one of your buddies.
What's the definitive way to start with AKI games?
Real wrestling - Giant Gram 2000. Fantasy wrestling - picrel.
>>11512495i remember i had a ps1 card full of old genesis and snes games and i played this oldass wrestling game that wasnt 2d but it wasnt fully 3d either, you coud play as a clown on up to 4 players it was great
>>11512980Yeah, the Amazon is great!
Are there some good wrestling series to watch to into wrestling?
>>11516925Check out the WWE Vault YouTube channel. It’s run by WWE, and they have documentaries, matches, etc. sometimes they even livestream old shows for people to watch together
>>11516925Late 80s JCP/WCW
Pro Wrestling, No Mercy, Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth. Those are my favorites.
>>11512612he's slapping his dick noooooo
WWF Wrestlemania the Arcade Game. The one with digitized characters.>he's going for the top rope!
>>11517036>>11517381Thank you, will do both. I feel like the genre will be wasted on me if I can't at least get a little bit into the source material.
>>11517381oh jim crockett promotionsi thought you were talking about juggalo championship wrestling lol
>>1151771680's NWA specials. the weekly show was just sqaushes and interviews, but the promos were absolutely classic
