I miss racing games like this, where the only way to win was the cut every turn as tightly as possible and one wrong move ruined the entire race. Kids can't handle the pressure these days and they're racing tanks with space laser power-up booster bullshit
>>11512535What's this, one of the Moto Racer games?
Games like that were more rage inducing than literally any other genre
I mean, I agree, but Moto Racer is like.... a super easy game and the speed boost from doing a wheelie makes the game super forgivingif you want some really tough racing games you have to look into 2D racers
>>11512542>>11512546It's Moto Racer 1, which I consider the best in the series. Such a clean and intense racing experience. I don't agree that is was rage-inducing. It was meditative. You had to be in a trance to beat it with nothing else on your mind. Nip one corner while nitro boosting and you fly off the bike. And you need to nitro boost constantly to win. It's a fun kind of intensity that I crave. I also preferred FPS games with one-shot-kill options like the golden gun. >>11512551What are your favorites?
I can't speak for what kids play today but I do know some are still playing Trackmania which has seen many updated versions since the original 2003/4 version. Trackmania Nations ESWC was even free to play making it very accessable.
I just wish there were more good motorcycle racing games even non retro ones
>>11512861What's wrong with picking one game and getting good at it? Super Hang-On is a great example of a game that has an incredibly high skill ceiling, there's not much else you would need unless you're allergic to 2D.
>>11512861I would recommend Road Rash PC/PSX version. Really fun and intense at higher difficulty. I love motorcycle games too. Better for racing because you can have tighter close calls, be parallel to many racers and still fit in the road, see more of the road. Car racers suck in comparison
>>11512861Have you tried ride series? I think it's pretty decent but sadly it's too realistic
There are many games like this but most of them came out long ago. Modern racing games are too easy both with handling and AI not to mention they don't include any challenge modes.
>>11512968>ride seriesI don't even know about it. I mite check the game, thanks
>>11512981They're like the Forza of bike games.
>>11512802>What are your favorites?I don't have the taste of an average person, but the Lotus series (kinda hard games) are well regardedIf you want something truly hard check out some NES/Famicom racers like Micro Machines (I could never beat it) or Motocross Champions (I could never beat the final race); even Rad Racer I was really proud when I managed to beat it... with continues
>>11512981Milestone is a completely competent developer that makes actual shovelware. There's 5 Ride games since 2015, along with a special Ducati game, Yearly MotoGP titles, a Superbike title, some yearly MXGP titles and some other non-bike racing titles. They feel like a modern version of those decent European budget game developers/publishers from the late 90s-early 2000s except the games aren't as cheap. It's the pre-cooked and packaged supermarket chicken of videogames. The microwaving and spices you add to it is you just not having played a racing game in a while or wanting Bike Forza in this case.
>>11512535Check out redline racer on pc, it's from circa 2000 couldn't tell you the actual release date. That was a pretty pure but arcadey feeling motorbike racer.
>>11512965>Road RashThe motorbike in Burnout Paradise is the closest thing to a modern-ish Road Rash game we can get. If that game had a modding scene they could make it a reality.
>>11512965The best way to play road rash is by emulating the 3DO version and increasing clock speeds to you get consistent, high fps. 3DO version has the best music too.
>>11512535>I miss racing games like this, where the only way to win was the cut every turn as tightly as possible and one wrong move ruined the entire raceSim racing is literally like this and 90% of modern racing games are simulators. It's arcade racers, where you would bump into the opponents the whole race and still win, have disappeared.
>>11513851Moto Racer is arcade. And arcade racers are like that in the hardest difficulty
>>11513773Nobody else makes serious motorcycle games, really. The other motorcycle games that exist are Kylotonn's TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge series, and PiBoSo's GP Bikes, which aims to be rFactor/Assetto Corsa for two-wheelers.You basically need a full body controller (similar to those you find in arcades for those games) for a realistic control similar to a steering wheel in a car-based simulator, and that's just not viable.
>>11512535Moto racer 2 is amazing but do yourself a favour and play the superior pc version ffs
>>11512535What the fuck are you even talking about?
>>11513837Just play the PC port, its the best version except for the in game music.
>>11512869super hang on sucks. road rage 2 is infinitely better
>>11516326One is a speed game and the other is a combat game. Thanks for sharing what your preference is.
>>11512535>space laser power-up booster bullshitWe have games like this nowadays? Where?
>>11512535>the only way to win was the cut every turn as tightly as possible and one wrong move ruined the entire raceSounds like tedious bullshit
>Kids can't handle the pressure these days and they're racing tanks with space laser power-up booster bullshitNigga what the fuck are you talking about? That doesn't happen. There are no games where this thing you're describing exists.
>>11516532>>11516387OP probably meant Kart Racers but wanted to include futuristic death racers because he's some sort of elitist for anything with realism applied.
>>11516532It does, you just don't play them. There's a AA Hot Wheels game that launched last year and has been getting regular updates, bet you didn't know that
>>11516387Wipeout
>>11512535Zoomers and millennials played the shit out of Burnout 3. If you're doubtful, try and play through the F1 races with the bullshit rubberbanding
