Are we now in the age where what is old is new again? Seems like old games get talked about quite a bit these days over anything just made.(At least where I work)

My SNES didn't yellow. But on the other hand I wouldn't mind if it did.I also have a Super Famicom and it didn't yellow. My PS1 did get yellow, though, and the laser doesn't work anymore, didn't fix it because I just use the PS2 for PS1 games. As for your question, OP: modern games are really bad, 8th and 9th gen are blurred together, and people keep buying older games "remastered"
>>11519069>also mega drive games aged better than SNES games because arcade games are timelessThe narrative of "snes is for arcade games, snes is for RPGs" really got distorted to the max. Nowadays people who never really played much of either, but know about them through youtube or online discourse, really think that the Mega Drive was for "hardcore arcade players" and SNES was for "RPG nerds".If you could time-travel to the 90s you could see most people were actually playing the same kind of games on both, mostly platformers and fighting games like Mortal Kombat (and the blood argument is only valid for MK1), and some sports games - and yes! SNES had sports games, too, contrary to modern popular belief.
AmeriSNES was always ugly
>>11519065The key to success is prep.
>>11519082>uglyI always find it funny when random people online think they have any authority on aesthetics and design
>>11519065Yup. Makes me glad I still have my Genesis. As for my SNES, I only own a SNES mini(European version). If it ever yellows, I am forced to de-yellow it.
>>11519091He's right, it is ugly. It's the very reason I bought a European SNES mini.
>>11519110My point is that people online throw away words like "ugly" or "nice looking" when talking about inanimate objects and it's weird, like what's the actual argument other than subjective taste? I don't really find any console truly "ugly", they are all cool machines in one way or another, but at the same time I don't find any particularly super amazing-looking. All consoles are more or less the same kind of plastic boxes, which is fine.
>>11519142I get what you're saying. Just that some people prefer a more stylistic look than a square or boxy look when it comes to consoles. People are the same way with cars, some people would rather drive a Corvette than a 1970's station wagon.
>>11519151Yeah it's all down to personal preference but I find it funny that people go around saying "ugly, pretty, ugly". I dunno seems rather infantile. Maybe i'm autistic and think too much.
>>11519079>snes is for arcade games>snes is for rpgsUh, ok?
