For me its dinky park
Reinstalled Sim Theme Park last night. It also turned out to be the UK version. I know there isn't a real difference but still a bit excited since a lot of people say the UK ant guy is better.Anywho, any tips and trips for the game? Kind of thining about going full Marcel Vos on it since I can't find anything other than cheating.
>>11964529I remember it being pretty basic as far as management sim goes. But it has spline-based tracks and on-ride camera which is cool.

What would make a good transport ride around the rock? Maybe suspended monorail, since a lot of the ground around it is full of rides and path? It would be much easier to build over everything.

>>11974241>meanwhile millennials 2 decades ago
>>11976761Eh, sure, but what's happening now is far more pervasive and ruinous. Any clip where people can comment is flooded with "me when" type shit. That behavior emerged from the old guard too but they pulled an image in to support something they wanted to express, not the other way around.
>>11976783It's more the fault of social media as a construct than the people who use it as it's designed.
>>11975767I wanted to do a long, Big Pier-type situation with a mini coaster/wild mouse, but got tired.
>>11976761That's a meme of memes made for one retarded website. Wait... 4chan is a millennial website.

>the current incarnation of Atari has had the Rollercoaster Tycoon IP for over a decade>they haven't made a single game worth playingAre they the most useless videogame developer?
>>11983569It's hard to compete with Chris Sawyer, the greatest mind of his generation.
>>11983573they could have at least included all of the features of his original 1999 game in their "attempts" at making new Rollercoaster Tycoon games
A new RCT game doesn't even need much. You want more freedom but not the tedium of Planet Coaster. So expand the scenery sets modestly - not so much as a NED workbench, where you need to build up knowledge of what the pieces even are to be able to use them, but enough that you can put up buildings with a decent variety in shape and texture. And implement spline-based track: I bet it wouldn't be too difficult (with the resources of a *product*) to cook up a system that, on the fly, bakes 3d modeled track into sprite chunks with car orientation data that can justwerk with the base game data structures.
RCT as a franchise is dead in terms of new games. Just play one of the many spiritual successors if you need to play something new.
>>11984280And yet we're all interested in the slow steady process of new stuff being strapped to RCT2.
>>11984308Zero-G rolls for inverted coaster WHEN
>>11983569The current incarnation of Atari has only existed since 2021, and sells more hot sauce than games.
>>11983569>Are they the most useless videogame developer? They have competition with Mojang
I *need* the custom objects to cover the limitations of the vanilla scenery set. But sifting through them, figuring out what's what, finding the piece you need, realizing that your workbench still has some gaps, etc is fucking misery.
>>11985158Just use trackitecture
>>11985161I'm talking shit like just finding a recolorable diagonal base block that matches the other sets. Vanilla and even many workbenches are stuck with only a wooden one. I just want to make a goddamn diagonal path.
>>11984280It's Atari owned, what did you expect?
>playing extreme heights>use the lack of budget and big space to finally try making some dueling coasters>shit at making coasters by the way>almost identical stats, intensity still high enough for the scenario even if it isn't 9+>fucked up a curve and one of them is 7 seconds longer so it loses every time
>>11985054Mojang has sold 1 (ONE) functional product, which Atari cannot claim to have ever done
>>11986127Timing racing coasters is fucking frustrating even for those who are good at making coasters.
>>11986127Dueling coasters are a pain, and moebius coasters are even more of a pain. It's even worse when block sections get involved, since even if the trains should take the same amount of time to get around the timings inevitably start acting up.
>>11987076>the timings inevitably start acting upNot if you set the station wait time to an exact value and don't try to cram in more trains.
Hosting The Caldera early this weekend. Enjoy.
I changed the ending to weed watcher slightly because hard-hitting brakes right before a hill nearly always lead to a crash, because brakes are inconsistent.
>>11988214Much better, thanks anon
density
How is this crashed coaster open and functional?
>spend 10k on a steel mini>5.98 excitementsame as it ever was
>>11988864I'm telling you, those things have a cap that is seemingly impossible to punch through.
If you see a closed loop like this on the transport system, please leave the area empty until we naturally build out there and connect it to the rest of the park.
>>11988869mostly i'm just disappointed in my inefficient designs, i'm so bad at making custom coasters
>hyper coaster crashes just by itself on a straight piece of trackWHY
>>11990005skill issue
>>11983320i mean the coloured glass IS the floor.i'd use the tile inspector to hide the queue path and have some sort of glass block underneath as the queue line instead.
Out of all of the inverted coasters I've made for these maps, this might be my favorite use of terrain yet.
>>11990005can't park there, mate
>>11986127You'll get better at it. Unfortunately your timings will get even more shredded once the ride opens and guests change the momentum. Asymmetrical designs are more challenging, but also have the benefit of uneven distribution of slopes/hills to even out the race. Ultimately a high average speed is best. Slower sections will pull the racers apart due to momentum differences. Once guests start filling those seats, the effect is even greater.
>>11990921>large half loop into in-line twists, then small loop into sloped banked downwards into mountainthat's pretty neato
I fucking LOVE building realistic-ish looking hypers
>>11991637I am a major fan of hyper-twisters and I love this turnaround
Bump
>>11992879About one-quarter of the map left untouched. That's a lot of good building space, including one of those big rocks.
I might honestly just make a path loop around the whole park before the server closes. It's a shame we didn't get to the last corner because the rest of the park is SO nice.
>>11993663It's a 3 day weekend for the burgers. Maybe we can get another day.
>>11993664So, should we keep it up for Labor Day? Let's give everyone one more day to finish up the park.
A lot of people were getting stuck by 2x Pine and it turns our they were all trying to get to the weed rides. I had to make a makeshift pass across the lake because there's literally not enough room underground, so it looks janky as fuck. I'll pretty it up as best I can.>>11993697May as well, right?
So I'm well into my years later RCT addiction but have never played multiplayer (didn't even know it was a thing) and I see there's weekly servers. How does it work exactly? Rules?
everyone's a critic
>>11993885Don't let that peep dry heave. Shit hurts.
>>11993849Enter this: >>11970140 into the window after hitting the "Add Server" button on the multiplayer window. As for rules, the only concrete ones are>No massive terrain changes without permission>Don't purposefully murder guests or spam rides that crash>Don't outright delete other people's builds, or grief other people's buildsOther than that anything goes. It's not a rule but it should go without saying but the parks are a collaborative effort, so feel free to add scenery to rides that aren't yours or ,in general, just get creative with other people's builds if you feel inclined.
GODDAMN IT
>>11993926The more I play this game the more I learn just how fucking dogshit the guest AI is.Can't have cool-looking paths, because it creates too many junctions and guests don't like that.
>>11993891And make sure to not leave the clearance check active when you don't need it
>>11993716Guests yearn for the weed rides
>>11993849It's basically just a map where multiple people can build shit simultaneously. Besides what >>11993891 said, I also want to add that you should avoid using prebuilt rides, because they're boring.
>>11993215Filled up pretty quick with how slow yesterday was going.
>>11993956why not?
>>11994772Accidentally building while clearance checks are off is disorienting because you can build on top of and through EVERYTHING. You can make shit that shouldn't work.
>>11994271I still see some empty green grass in there.
>>11994772If i build one more tree over my splash boat i'm going insane
How do you guys come up with the fucking ride names that you do?
>>11995891Are you talking about the reasonable/plausibly realistic names or the shitpost names?

>>11998416Automatically downloaded. If you want to skip the process of downloading it then, download and open this weekend's map to pre-load those objects.
>>11997414well if you want to be more specific, everyone just refers to the option as "zero clearance," so in use a phrase would be "Damn, someone left zero clearance on and I built straight through that forest."

I didn't get to it because I'm a lazy bitch, but I still plan on making a bunch of title sequences for the RCT1 collab parks. It won't be done before this thread starts auto-saging (very soon). Also going to make one of this >>11996003 because why wouldn't I?I'll probably do that first and post it next thread.
>>11999417I'll put the next thread up when the thread gets closer to the bottom, it usually takes 5-10 hours for it to happen so it'll be somewhere in that time frame probably.
