Allright, what led to the previous thread to be offed to oblivion?
I can't believe they straight up said "yeah, the Blood remaster is broken forever, we're not fixing it, deal with it NERD". And I'm betting my left kidney Refreshed will still have broken things they will abandon eventually.

Holy lel, they actually deleted it at 500 replies. Based fucking mods. Megafaggot on absolute suicide watch.

>>12063838the guy who was having a melty last thread was probably the OP and got all of his posts deleted, including the thread.
>>12063838I guess they finally banned and wiped him? Are his posts gome in the old thread too?
>>12063840Are we placing bets on who'll get the blame for it this time? Atari or WB or some other third party?
So why did you want me to download Doom II - No Rest for the Living (BFG Edition)?
I just want to talk about Doom on 4chan. When did shitflinging make that too much to ask for?
>>12063859>kino of the highest order wad exists>anon don't want to play itYour loss.
>>12063859Unrelated, but the mapset itself is pretty damn good. I should play it again.

>>12063882HFFM expansion might be cool. Harder, faster, faggotier.
>>12063854That wasn't obvious from the OP itself?
>>12063858>Atari or WB or some other third party?Everyone, but Nightdive. You would think that by 2025 people will stop treating any company as their friend, but instead you see plenty of nutjobs thanking Nightdive and defending them like it's their beloved family member.Such loyalty won't last forever, but it does make you wonder what will be the turning point for them.
>>12063885HFFM's name also came from the word bubble. This is clearly a sign that the bubble wants MORE faggotry.
>>12063882Commander Keen needs to be replaced with truck nuts.
>>12063892As long as the only other big remaster studio is Aspyr with their janky AI slop, people will keep jerking of Dumpsterdive as the second coming of Christ. The instant they get competent competition this will stop.
>>12063892>but it does make you wonder what will be the turning point for them. They'd have to seriously fuck something up hard since they're forgiving of stuff like the Blade Runner and Fresh Supply shit, and are even thanking them right now for the chance to preorder a patch with community mods to bulk it out.
>>12063892Well for me, it's not that black and white. They are not my friends, but they are not personally my arch enemies either. Just a company with either good or shit products. If they make good remasters, I buy. If they make shitty remasters, I won't buy. This new Blood goes to shit category. Turok 3 and RotT were good since there were no viable alternatives to play them on modern PCs. All Bethesda ones, I got for free, so didn't need to use my money for those. Liked the new expansions, but Nightdive didn't make the Quake ones (it was Machinegames).
>>12063876>everybody mapping>obviously elephant>gay trolling teleporter>definitely samefagging completely>alien files saw fact
>>12063901If they're offering Blood on console together with Death Wish, I would say that it's value for console-only fags, in the same way that Unity Doom was.On PC though it's not worth much.
Huh.Anyway, I remember shooting Xaser a message on Doomworld maybe a year ago, and he said "Oh yeah, maybe I should fix the VM Abort in Zen Dynamics." but I guess he never got around to doing that.I saw someone here say that there was a fix someone else made? I'd love for you to share it, Zen Dynamics is very much a demonstration project more than anything, cobbled together from other people's leftovers, but it was actually pretty good, too.
>>12063892How much tylenol his mother took for him to be this retarded and a self-centered prick?>>12063901Blade Runner's case was literally the ScummVM community acting like faggots towards all sides and Nightdive's ego.>>12063898Aspyr is cursed. They gave TR and SR to literal autistic fans who delivered, then they gave Deus Ex to indians.Still the TR Remasters are easy to mod as SR since raina's tism made sure everything from SR1 and 2 was added into the mix and OL+TR Forums people made sure everything was moddable.

>>12063842There exists Daisy player skin
>>12063892As an early Nightdive detractor I've enjoyed seeing the goodwill turn but unfortunately its not fast enough to stop the damage it's going to do to retro shooters.Locking mods behind "remasters" in the guise of "keeping interests for the IP alive" for WB to make mobile live service games for (Monolith is defunct) is something I thought more people would see the bullshit in.
>>12063943Maybe they interpreted it as that? I have seen people get their posts wiped for when they get b& for illegal shit, so they do it for other things besides spamming.>>12064008How "locked" is it actually though? Unless they manage to somehow quash piracy of DOS games (good luck lmao) then they'll never have full control.
>>12063898>As long as the only other big remaster studio is Aspyr with their janky AI slopModern Digital Eclipse are more about re-releases, but they're the best as far as I can tell. Would've been nice to see them handle just any FPS game, even though they're all about emulation. There's also Limited Run Games... Fuck. This shit sucks. General Arcade isn't specifically a re-release/remaster group, but they done some stuff too. All the rest are situational.>The instant they get competent competition this will stop. That's just piece of a puzzle. It won't be just a competition, but Nightdive's growing hubris doing its thing.>>12063901>They'd have to seriously fuck something up hardTrue. And when they do, all that was forgiven will be back for dogpilling.>>12063903>Well for me, it's not that black and white.I'm sure some people there are great. Some of its work isn't great, but give credit where its due to Quake 2 and DOOM 64. I guess you can I'm balancing it out general perception with more negative attitude>Turok 3The lack of multiplayer and their attitude towards Rage Wars are very telling. I'm sure Nightdive will take on Quake 3 Arena if id asks them very nicely, but if Heretic+Hexen is anything to go by... I hope they don't.>>12063920>They gave TR and SR to literal autistic fans who deliveredThat was Saber (Russian branch, I believe), actually. All of those autistic fans were hired by them for Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain back when Saber was with Embracer and they then kept ongoing deal.
>>12064008>something I thought more people would see the bullshit inThe target audience of these remasters is zoomers who get fake nostalgia for games they've never played from the e-celebs they watch, but are too dumb or lazy to use sourceports. You'll never get complaints out of them because they don't know any better and probably don't care enough to learn. Most people who played these games when they came out either aren't playing them anymore (or gaming at all), or are comfortable using sourceports and don't interact with these remasters on any level - including to point out how shit they are.
>>12064030That's a lot of projection and made up assumptions
>>12064030I'm not gonna say you're entirely wrong, but you aren't entirely right either, I see older people who played these games back in the day get roped in too.
>>12063943The guy went on pne of his bi-monthly schizphrenic breakdowns and straight up said he was baking generals with the Mm8dm pic incouded just to spite everyone and hadn't even played it himself, then taunted everyone and the moderation about how they couldn't do anything. It may not be "spam" but the reason for deletion is obvious.
So when is SIN Reloaded coming out?
>>12064030I just like the remasters with new campaigns, the ones for Doom 64, Quake and Hexen were pretty good
>>12064039Given that he latched on to and griped about the evil oppression of poor innocent little Sarais early on, do you think it was just him being a turbofag for the sake of it all along? Both are anti-social drug addicts after all.
>>12064040Right after Episode 2.
>>12064042Or maybe he actually did that just because he knew we hated it. I guess I shouldn't assume that quickly.
>>12064038>I see older people who played these games back in the day get roped in too.Yeah I know people who still have copies from the 90s, and absolutely ought to know better but are still begging for Nightdive to re-release crap, even stuff like Shadow Warrior that already has a functional fucking re-release on top of plenty of sourceports.
>>12064063I'm just glad that there is still interest in these old games even though I don't play them muchIsn't Shadow Warrior classic redux really buggy as well?
>>12064042>>12064039It's probably the same anon who thinks he's doing internet activism and only ever showed up in these threads to fight the invisible iron fist of the janitors or something like that.
>>12064008Double standards with Nightdive's fans are very amusing. Blaming corporations for business practices Nightdive endorses through collaboration and lament about Aspyr and Deus Ex while actively advocating for monopoly by hoping that any FPS remasters is done by one company. At the end, people will willingly default back to originals.>>12064030>The target audience of these remasters is zoomers who get fake nostalgia for games they've never played from the e-celebs they watchNot always the e-celebs. Inspiration sometimes comes from other places like childhood and such. That's how it mostly was for a retarded zoomer like me.>>12064037No, anon totally has a point.>>12064040How much in total it took them to get System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster? Approximately 6-7 years? Considering that SiN is a similar situation where Nightdive owns the IP and how things going right now, I would give it another 2-3 years from now.Reloaded was at first supposed to be out in 2021, meaning it probably had at least a year of development by the point of announcement in 2020. It probably started development around the same time as SS2, but who knows for sure.
>>12064068>Isn't Shadow Warrior classic redux really buggy as well?It got an update a few years back that fixed a bunch of the significant issues like underground mines.
>>12064074Tbf Aspyr is dropping the ball on this one.I don't love or hate nightdive though. They've had their share of fuck ups and successes.
>>12064027Did General Arcade do Chasm The Rift? I think they did a pretty good job with that one
How many remasters are even there left for Nightdive to do?>Quake III>Dark Forces II>actually trying to fix Blood II >Hexen II with the expansion>Terminator Future Shock and Skynet>Daikatana>Blake Stone>Alien Trilogy>Requiem Avenging Angel>Wheel of Time>Descent Series>Mechwarrior series>Tekwar or Witchaven for the memes>some console FPS like Disruptor, Medal of Honor or Alien ResurrectionMost of these are probably unlikely because of licensing
>>12064074It's funny System Shock 2 took them so long when System Shock Enhanced was one of their first projects
>>12064087They'll pad it out with awful ones like Neves of Steel and Isle of the Dead, and obviously they're already into remastering their own remasters.
>>12064091>when System Shock Enhanced was one of their first projectsAllegedly they cannibalized System Shock Portable to get that out so quickly, then DMCA'd SSP.
>>12064087I would unironically buy a South Park port.
>>12064030As someone who hasn't finished any retro shooters (except for Half-Life and Goldeneye) until a year ago it has been fun to catch up with all the classics. I'm also happy people are still playing these games and there has been also a resurgence of various retro style shooters. It sure beats the era when everyone was trying to rip off CoD.
>>12064087Hexen 2 would be actually nice since it has non-existant modding scene. I'd enjoy a new mission pack for it.Then they could do Duke Nukem 3d, just to get a new 6th episode. At least it couldn't be a worse port than World Tour. But since Gearbox still holds the rights and is gayer than Nightdive, I doubt it'll happen.
>>12064087They'll probably end up doing more full remakes like with System Shock. Depending on how this Blood situation goes, they might even try double-dipping on their earlier remasters and use console ports as an excuse.
>>12064113>Duke Nukem 3dMegaton Edition with the official expansions is all you need, it just isn't on sale anymore
>>12064085Well to be fair Chasm community (if it exists at all) is nowhere near as autistic about the authenticity, so maybe a lot of small bugs might just go unnoticed, meanwhile nothing goes unnoticed past the Doom/Build community.
>>12064118Megaton is overrated. Sure it's a better port than World Tour, but it certainly didn't have all expansions. Eduke is the best way to play Duke. I'd only want a new remaster to get a new expansion. More Duke is always good.
>>12064027>>12063898Say what you want about Nightdive, they never fucked up as hard as the guys who did Kingpin Reloaded

>>12064098that's one i wouldn't mind getting the heretic treatment
>>12064081>Tbf Aspyr is dropping the ball on this one.For sure. I'm still happy Deus Ex in their hands not just because "fuck Nightdive", but also "yay, competition". As shitty as it is.>>12064085>Did General Arcade do Chasm The Rift?Yep. I need to play it. Big thing is no multiplayer, which sucks.>>12064087I won't be surprised if they skip straight to Heretic 2 simply because there's more profit for it. You don't need to "suffer loses" to Bethesda's generosity for Game Pass fodder when there's no barebone original version of the game up for sale already.>>12064091To be fair, it's also logical. If you own the IP, you have full control over time management. That's why its been so neglected for years.>>12064127>Kingpin ReloadedThat got fucked over by Interplay, 3D Realms with its awful attention span and Embracer bullshit. Although Interplay did get slow patching going recently for what its worth.Considering Kingpin Reloaded had five developers working on it in total, you can argue that end result is actually kind of impressive if you have desire to be charitable.https://youtu.be/YbYWvhLd2sI&t=14292

>>12064163We could just fucking omit MM8BDM, maybe substitute it with Highway Accelerator as someone suggested. But again, just not doing a Doom recc chart as an image anymore may just be the better approach.
>>12064164>The campaign is like 4 hours long so you can easily complete it in one eveningI'm a slow player, so it's probably gonna be at least double the time for me. Not to mention collecting achievements.
>>12064092>Isle Of The DeadThat would be such a fucking desperate and funny scrape of the bottom of the barrel that I would just kind of accept it.
>>12064181>I'm a slow playerSame, I always try to explore levels and find as many secrets as possible, I can rarely complete a gem in less than 2 sittings
>>12064172Works in Doom 64 EX Plus. Excellent port.
>The start of map 26 in Alien VendettaI'd understand better if it wasn't being surrounded from every possible angle and carving "safe space" where you can catch a breath is behind some wetwork
>>12064184>I always try to explore levels and find as many secrets as possibleIt's not even that. Often even if I'm trying to just playing it without putting much thought into secrets and such, I still end up taking longer than one would expect. That's how I'm with games in general, not just FPS.
>>12064087They can branch out and do more non-FPS games like shadow Man and The Thing
>>12064087Convince Bungie to let them remaster the Marathon trilogy and include famous mods. Then the Marathon community gets to collectively piss themselves because their mods are now "official" and "canon".
I got excited that I found a bug in Chocolate Doom but apparently it's been known for 8 years. There's a sector type 10 which closes 30 seconds after the map starts. It's used in a secret in map27. In vanilla, if you run to the secret and stand under the door as it closes at 30 seconds, it will reopen and keep going up and eventually the game will crash. But this doesn't happen consistently, because the behavior depends on unitialized memory.Chocolate Doom is supposed to reproduce all vanilla bugs but apparently reproducing a stochastic crash that could lead to security issues was too much for them.Honestly at this point DOS emulation is so good and comfy that I don't see much point in Chocolate Doom anymore

Still, I'm kind of jealous they gave more love to Quake 2 anyway instead of Quake 1's remaster.>Quake 1: HD models for the original game's weapons and enemies, actually packing the OST with the game unlike the original Steam release, and restoring Dismal Oubliette's length, but they didn't do the same for the weapons and enemies in the expansions; Dimension of the Machine also only uses the base weapon/enemy rosters, Dimension of the Past was also included as Machine Games jacking themselves off, and Quake 64 is relegated to an addon.>Quake 2: Same as with Quake 1 but with:>Remastered lighting.>Weapon rebalances (however unwanted they are).>New enemy behavior.>Giving this treatment to the expansions' content, including restoring the Disruptor from Ground Zero.>Even remaking the N64 campaign in the base game.>And having Call of the Machine include content from both expansions, both console ports, and Quake 1's Shamblers.
>>12065565Nothing says "we do this for preservation" more than Nightdive leaving "Stop asking us about Rage Wars" in the credits of their Turok 3 remaster.>>12065856At this point, I feel like most devs at Nightdive just don't like PSX version of Quake 2 and just don't add it out of spite. They added fucking Sigil 2 into a proper list of campaigns for DOOM + DOOM 2, so it's not like they're not capable.
>>12065882At least they put Q64 campaign. Both are better than the PC campaign.
>>12065882Nightdive might be egoistical bastards, but this is not on Nightdive (hell the campaign was finished by Nightdive member on his free time). And not even on Bethesda. It's the console policy combined with how Q2 engine is. Technically the blame is also on Carmack by making the engine dependant of dll files. Doom 1+2 has different engine than Q2 so it's not really comparable. Sigil 2 deserves it's official expansion status though. For me it's the episode 6.
>>12065891It's nice to play them both on pc, but I disagree with them being better than pc campaign.

Switchspeed is different: I had my fill with mods and the remaster and can enjoy going back to the standard switchspeed now.>>12065909>It's nice to play them both on pc, but I disagree with them being better than pc campaign.I'll second that.
>>12065891I did like Quake 2 64 a lot too.>>12065907Nah, it's all just a bullshit excuse on Nightdive's part for not wanting to do more work (that they've already done to get Quake 2 re-release on PS and Switch in the first place; because all that DLL shit isn't exclusive to this one thing) for free + probably hate for that port in particular. Props to Paril to finishing it regardless, too bad his colleagues didn't share his enthusiasm. There's no good reason to not have PSX version of DOOM or Hexen 64 in respective re-releases either.

>>12065273Good run! I feel like Osiris may be pretty well suited to Fast Monsters given that it's not made too tough to begin with, so it ends up a just tight enough challenge this way.I probably won't do more Osiris challenges (for now), given that we're heading to October really soon and people wanted to do Halloween stuff, but I feel like I actually want to just play through Osiris myself, I forgot how fun and moody it was. It does a lot with relatively little, and Jeremy Doyle's music does so much for the atmosphere.I wonder, did Osiris actually inspire Powerslave? It's a continuation of I, ANUBIS, which was from 1995. Maybe Glen and Marshal saw Powerslave in magazines and got some inspirations from that to build more upon I, ANUBIS to make Osiris?

It doesn't seem to be a straight CRC32: The decimal form of Excalibur: Morgana's Revenge's map checksum doesn't match the checksum used in the LUA patch, and converting the LUA checksum brings back a different hex sequence.
>>12066120Based on the time I've taken a look at it myself before, it's pretty much the desolate wasteland of the Classic Doom community. There's a bit of memeing about running the game on various things, but very sparse discussion of playing the game itself.I think maybe there are some other Doom subreddits, smaller ones, which are more about the classic games and their modding, but the overall Classic Doom fandom already had its well established nests before Reddit ever took off the ground, and people never felt a need to emigrate from them, thus r/Doom is only where people who are nothing bu Redditors go, thus the state of it.There's legit way more discussion about Classic Doom on Discord, be that some larger servers, servers dedicated to certain mods, or smaller and private servers.

>>12066309Q2's mapping scene was basically dead save for few people like Quakeulf, before the remaster generated so much more interest that Map-Center became a thing. Vanilla Quake 2 has had less than 30 map sets released between 2000 and 2025. That's less than the amount of Doom wads that have got released during one of Doom's least active "dying" years like 1999 or 2000. Remaster itself has received already more than 15 good map packs after it's 2023 release. Comparing those numbers makes me see Nightdive with Q2 more as good than bad thing. It's less about stealing the modder base, and more about making the game more attractive modders since almost nobody was interested modding the vanilla (were you?). Now since CotV gave whole Q1 beastiary and 30 other creatures for modders, I see zero reason to go back to vanilla modding.

It's only a matter of time until someone offers an accessibility option to handle the fucked palette. Some very interesting maps there. Some kaizo bullshit, some jumpscare you half to death, some others are just regular maps but all weird and fucked up.It's a nice pack for the ten people in the world who can stare at it for longer than one minute.
>>12064087>TekwarI have a feeling that'll happen after Shatner dies.
>>12067153>Shatner diesLet's be at least realistic here, that's not going to happen.
Caved in and added another weapon to my dungeoncrawl bunker map. It's an auto shotgun replacing the plasma gun, works the same way too - let go and you get to handle a lengthy animation. It'll be pretty well-hidden but should be a nice reward.Added some nice decoration too. This area is meant to be an R&R center with some amenities, including a library and some reading rooms. If my doomcute skills are good enough, I want to add an air hockey table, some TVs and some discarded bottles and food packages.
>>12067148I don't think that Blood 2 is even conceptually good, it'd be much better to just make an alternate sequel which isn't lame.
>>12065527Yeah Tanks are pretty cool, I like their sfx. But I like the new Gunner Captain or whatever name they have

Not relevant to the thread at all, but it occurs to me how much Max Payne is a Build style shooter - protagonist with a personality, oodles of environmental interaction - but in the third person and dark and dank.

>>12067510Yes. Old Fresh Supply stays unupdated though.New remaster is supposed to be more accurate due to the access to original source code, but it still doesn't use Build proper (either because of Kaiser's distaste or the fact that it probably would have to be licensed from Ken).
>>12067517Yeah you better eat that fucking crow and get mad. Neener neener neener.

>>12067526Nope, actually gonna go e-mail some project leads and tell them to cancel anything spooky coming up, just to spite you. There'll never be a Halloween DOOM map ever again, and it's all this guy's fault.
>>12067530Is this the test?
>>12067470good now i'm fucking stuck on the elevator
>>12067485>There likely won't be another Halloween Jam this year eitherFFFFFFFFUCK. At least the existing Halloween Jams have some neat atmospheric levels. Spooktober for Doom is also a thing, and while it has a bad reputation a handful of the levels are actually fun too. Then there's Ad Mortem, which doesn't quite feel Halloweeny enough for me (it lacks that certain cheese) but it's a good mapset so whatever.
Upholding my pledge to make a room a day through October. Picked BTSX texture pack for this, since it's been recently released.
>>12067538It's funny how that happened. Isn't it the same mechanic that was used to get Romero secret?

>>12066563I don't know. I think both mods playable in DOS version though? Unless they somehow were able to apply FS changes there, which I doubt. As things currently stand, I'm also having a bad time of taking any statement from Nightdive devs at face value.>>12066721>They were breaking mod compatibility already, so why not take one extra step and put game code in VM?They can do that when they want it to. >Gameplay mods have flying enemies that make no sound aside from their alert/death sound>Only way you could reliably know they're there is when you start getting hit with rocket barrages
>>12067009I meant we should avoid doing 2 in a row, yeah. Although variety in general is the goal. You could theoretically pick 2 different wads in a row, but if they're really similar it would still feel monotonous. I considered submitting my demos, but since I recorded using nugget-doom, they technically aren't permitted under competition rules anymore and might therefore be more hassle than it's worth to add. I don't think every wad needs to be table filled necessarily.
>>12067546well not today, i keep dying stupid deathsI hope snoopdogg anon has something prepared
>>12066983It's a shame that the mods support is so mediocre in Raze, especially when its Doom counterpart can run (or "run") 99.9% of existing Doom mapsets.
>>12067659Nugget isn't eligible? GAY.
What was that wad with pokemon furry OC footfaggotry?
Why was Carmack always so autistic and nitpicky about licensing the id tech engine unlike Unreal or Renderware developers?
>>12067691Thats what you get for using the worst duke port. Raze is a fuckin meme, is it even still being developed?
>>12067767>the worst duke portIt's the best SW port.
>>12067769Better than VoidSW?
>>12067780From what I can tell VoidSW is functionally abandoned, it gets like 3-4 nothingburger commits per year from a single guy who worked on Redux.Five years later it's still not possible to set an offset for a custom statusbar, so it's still not possible to have a widescreen statusbar. So if you want a statusbar, your only option is picrel abominations.
>>12067130I made a really quick one, and converted it to a .kvx, but placing it in the wad(over the potato, as a test) does nothing.I still know nothing about creating voxels.https://files.catbox.moe/e7ytt8.kvx
>>12067791What's even more annoying is that EDuke32 (which is right next to VoidSW exe file) have a borderless statusbar now. I don't like it because it offsets the weapon way too low, but the fact that the basic feature that could've been added to both sourceports only got added to EDuke32 despite the fact that you can't even download one source port without the other tells quite a lot.
>>12067797Meanwhile Raze aka "worst duke port" aka "a fucking meme".
>>12067801For me:>Raze for SW, Eduke for Duke, Notblood for Blood, Rednukem for Rednecks.
>>12067807...Redneck Rampage had a Japanese release?
>>12067807>Eduke for DukeExcept Alien World Order which is easier to play in Raze.
>>12067812Think these weebs liked it? Who knows maybe there's some niche scene of them making more RR content
>>12067812It's a fairly polarizing game but yeah, seems to have done pretty decently financially. Not sure how it compared to Blood's financial success.>>12067817>Alien World OrderI enjoyed it most through Randy's modded port.I also need to compare hitscan aiming assist between Raze, Eduke, and DOS: When I played Raze it reduced all spread.
Died the 4th time, I should just stop...>>12067796Hmm when I open this kvx in goxel it also looks empty and the layers tab shows some big number as z coordinate. Can you maybe send it in whatever format you created it?
>>12067769Better than BuildGDX?
>>12067828Anything is better than Java shitfest.
>>12067831What's the problem with Java?
>>12067820>Not sure how it compared to Blood's financial successWasn't blood's perform mediocre globally? The game released after quake. I'm pretty sure everyone can agree it is an absolute kinofest for old school fps games today, but I can't imagine people in the 90s would give it that much of attention
>>12067839It did ok enough that they tried for a sequel, but it was never a barn burner. The sequel then basically killed its prospects as a franchise.
>>12067732
>>12067835Having it installed is like bending over with your arse in the air in the middle of a prison and hoping nobody fucks you.
>>12067826ok i fixed it somehow by moving to origin, exporting to vox, importing back again, exporting to kvx
>>12067835Most of the times it's bloated as hell, slow as hell, and a security nightmare.
>>12067856https://files.catbox.moe/zya55c.voxThis is what I originally exported it as, I was using MagicaVoxel.Actually shading the thing is going to be a real pain. I hate working with Doom's palette.
>>12067831And as for the port itself?>>12067849Skill issue.
>>12067124>I forgot about that "compatibility checks are DRM" cunt. It's absurd that anybody took issue with it being in the mod, especially when it was done entirely for practical reasons and without any kind of malice at all.
trying out blood death wish. what are these maps supposed to be? there's nothing in the wiki about them. the first one is just 2 floors in a building with every gun/ammo type but no enemies. are they unfinished files or something?
>>12067972BB stands for BloodBath, the game's Deathmatch mode. They're multiplayer maps.
>>12067975got it, thanks.
>>12067972>>12067975additional question: i'm using fresh supply to dw (i know, i know). it appears to only loads the maps in isolation. i get the credits each time i finish an episode, it doesn't flow like a campaign is expected to. is that normal in shit like nBlood or does fresh supply just suck for addons like this?
>>12067817Works fine eduke with stopgap.
>>12068013That's why I said it's easier, not that it's impossible with EDuke32.With Stopgap you need too keep the whole Randiversary Edition game somewhere, which is like 1GB+ of bloat you don't need, while with Raze it's a single 100mb GRP file that has nothing but the new episode itself and can be used just like any other GRP file.
>>12068007>it appears to only loads the maps in isolation>i get the credits each time i finish an episodeI'm gonna need clarification because you're kinda giving me mixed signals here: Are you seeing the credits after playing multiple maps, or are you seeing it each time you finish a map?

>>12068039Are they all closed?A common trope I've seen is to have at least one stall different than the rest, like maybe it's open, dirtier, or has a corpse or item.
>>12068037i finished e1, i get credits and dumped to main menu. same thing with e2. if i play it in something like nblood, is it smart enough to chain the maps together so that it doesn't immediately go to credits and goes to the next correct map?
>>12068047Players will surely smirk and nod at a subtle postironic deconstruction and subversion of the one different stall trope
>>12068039every toilet should face another and the users have to maintain eye contact
>>12068050Oh, no, it's supposed to do that. Every time you finish an episode, it's supposed to show the credits sequence and then take you back to the menu.
>>12068039immersive cute is never boring
>>12063834Managed to misread this as "tender loving cat" and then thought, that's not a cat.
>>12063834You are now aware of the fact that this picture was drawn by a furry porn artist.
>>12068057ok, i wasn't sure if addon campaigns were supposed to explicitly behave like the OG ones. thanks.
>>12068047They're all closed so far because I've been copypasting them. A lot of the less important rooms like bathrooms/dorms are copypasted with only very minor differences, since I want the map to look like it could house around 30 people. Originally it was 60, might go for that still.>>12068054I'll have that at least at one point. Maybe in a secret.>>12068058Thanks. Have an air hockey table.

>>12068125I only just discovered how to get the widowmaker on the watertower zooming around with noclip to take screenshots. Years of playing this map and others every Halloween and only now do I realise you need to try to escape the map by running along the fence to be teleported up there.
>>12068094Yeah, I guess there has to be some background for such spirit animal to exist, even if it's an oddball joke or programmer's own fascination with dogs. Nonetheless, I was asking if any other kind of animal could fit the role of a hardened space marine's companion.
>>12068091>Why rabbits anyway?Have you seen bunnies? They're cute.
>>12068143>Nonetheless, I was asking if any other kind of animal could fit the role of a hardened space marine's companion.A dog would be better, but that would be a bummer.
