Even as a kid I never understood this mindset. I was (and am) a big Nintendo fan, but I still loved all manner of games and was thrilled when I got a PlayStation and later a Dreamcast. I was baffled by a school friend who was pro-Nintendo to the point of not being willing to play games on other consoles. Eventually he opened up to other stuff.
