Well, my xbox is ding
I had it since I was a teenager as a gift from my grandma.
Now the video output port shows severe ghosting and no longer can output anything beyond 480i.
I took it to a local repair guy but he said the port has some plastic in it so he can't resolder it as it will melt.

For me, it was truly a leap, when I saw Doom 3 and Thief DS with dust particles visible in light, I was amazed. Haven't felt the same kind of technological leap since.

Post your memories relating to xbox

My first memory is thinking its just going to be a crappy win 98 all in 1 box like the pippen with poor hardware after seeing it in a magazine.
I first saw it in a store with Need for Speed but I was a bit jaded after the death of the Dreamcast and I was like its alright I guess, I saw Buffy and I liked the graphics.
They started selling them so cheap with 4 games so I got one to play halo splitscrew which I did a few times but nowhere near as much as Golden Eye. I was initially impressed with Splinter Cell but didn't play it that much until at the end when I got Outrun.
My experience talking other people was men in the 40's obsessed with modding it, I don't think they even played games but wanted to act as if they were beating the system.

Some of my favorite times with the Xbox aren't just with Halo, but playing online on Ghost Recon 2. That game's multiplayer was legendary. It was like the closest thing we got to SOCOM on Xbox.

Breakdown, Rainbow Six 3, the best third party versions on most games, it was a great console.

Does it only have composite out? I don't remember. Also that sounds like bullshit and he's being a lazy cunt, but I don't actually know.

Just do it anyways or replace the part, it goes in there somehow. Maybe find a way to insulate the plastic from the operation? Maybe find a new motherboard from a donor Xbox if you have to

It's been fixed and the fixer says good job.

Probably needs a recap for the gpu caps and the video port may be dirty, just apply alcohol to a q-tip and clean inside the port.

Whoops, wrong thread. My bad

Doom 3 co-op sounds so mind blowing it can only be rivaled by Halo CE. Does it work on Insignia?

It has its own special connector.

i got two broken ass xboxes im about to try and fix. have to buy a bunch of stuff like ide to sata adapters. the hard drive and disc drive are fucked on both im pretty sure so i guess i need a modchip to get around that shit
>>

>disc drive
The disc drive on one of my XBOXs failed, but after replacing the capacitors and reflowing solder joints, it works fine.
And no, I don't know if the capacitors truly needed to be replaced (I don't have a multimeter that can measure capacitance) or if just reflowing solder joints fixed the issue.

Lucky, I didn't got to experience xbox's multiplayer at its release, only with insignia I could finally play and had some fun in conker and counter strike.
I did enjoy the games that forced you to go out and make some friends so you could bring them in and help you 100% the game like shaolin monks since a lot was locked behind co-op.
>>
>>12250413
That still sounds like bullshit that it's not replaceable. Are you sure it's not just the cable?
>>
>>12248916
Well, whether you fix it or not, you got more use out of it than like 99% of every other Xbox owner. So you're grandma would be happy her gift gave you so much enjoyment. Maybe move onto a 360 and play it for next 15 years lol

>Does it only have composite out? I don't remember.
>being too lazy to google something this basic
>even fucking entertaining the idea that the objectively most powerful /vr/ console of all time well-known for its graphics only had composhit
you might as well have wrote "didn't PS1 not support FMV playback?" browsing this board makes me fucking suicidal
