So when are they going to make component cables for gamecube that A. are decent and B. not $400?
>>
>>12478830
They made them, you just have to have one of the earlier models with the second port.
>>
>>12478841
I said not $400

Adjust your television set.

>when
Before you were born. Sorry kiddo. Like nearly all things retro you missed the boat, the bandwagon even.
>>

Nintendo is fully to blame here for putting a DAC inside of a fucking analog cable just so they can have their own proprietary cables. Fuck you Nintendo

hdmi adapter

Are the Insurrection Industry cables considered to be good? I have a set of those and have no complaints, but I don't have any office cables against which to compare

I think they are good but aren't they just as rare as the OEM? I think they stopped making them too because even though good they weren't 1:1 with the OEM.

S-video chads just keep winning
fuck you feeding these retro game companies animals
you belong in the trash

From what I recall, COVID hit right around when they introduced them, so that probably cut their production before they could produce a lot. The output looks good enough for me, and I wouldn't spend $X00 on cables regardless of quality.

Just use a Wii. Their component cables are like $15 on ebay. Only issue is you need to use the wiimote to get to the game, but I bet even then there is some sort of mod to skip it.
>>
>>12478830
Why not just play GC games on a Wii instead?
>>
>>12478830
Have you been under a rock for the past like 7 years? the digital outport has been reverse engineered by GCvideo. You can do an internal gcvideo mod or buy an external connector like Eon or Prism for ~75-150 bucks depending what features you need.

This. And there are fantastic HDMI solutions as well such as the Carby

Does it support component? I want to play on my BVM
>>

I haven't been up on wii modding in a very long time, but last I checked there still isn't any solution to wii home menu navigation without a wiimote. There are "solutions" but they're bullshit workarounds like having the system autoboot into homebrew channel or USBloader and launching games that way. Which, yeah, that technically works, but holy shit why is it impossible to just have a stock wii menu to play GC games on without needing to juggle around with a wiimote
>>

It cost me $100 and you can also get good component cables for less then that.

But I will never ever share details with you queers due to what you did last time dragging a fuck ton of scalpers in and fucking it up for those of us who cares.

I have an Eon. It supports both digital HDMI output as well as analogue output via a Wii AV port. So you can just get relatively inexpensive Wii cables and you're set. It also supports a Wii RGB SCART cable and analogue RGB output if you want to go that route instead (this is what I did since my main CRT is RGB modded but I can't do component on it)

Not sure if there are any other plug-and-play solutions besides Eon. My only complaint with it is that the software it uses is clearly focused on HDMI output, and analogue output is a secondary concern. For instance, I wanted it to output analogue 240p so I can play gameboy player on my CRT like that. But for whatever reason it kept adding its own scanline filter to an image that was already 240p. It did this even though the menu said scanlines were off, and it resulted in this very bizarre look to the image, like all my GBA games had a striped pattern to them.

Only retards are paying $400. My official component cable was $120 and I bought it two years ago.

Buy a Wii.

I still have my original cable but the rubber coating or whatever is hardening over time and feels like it's going to snap soon
