Let’s settle this: which version of RE is the best?
>>12512443REmake
The Sega Saturn one
Nintendofied it ain't
Original.
>>12512443I like Remake but I think it's more of a companion piece to RE1 that should only be experienced once you've played both Chris and Jill's scenarios on the PS1. I don't see Remake as a replacement for RE1. I find it disrespectful to just how fucking good RE1 is to tell new fans not to bother with what is arguably the peak of the classic tank control series.PS1 RE1 strengths:>Extremely tight pacing, almost no filler even if it does dip a bit in the guard house.>More branching routes and decisions (REmake removed them)>Garishly colourful and surreal mansion >Amazing B-Movie FMVs>Better soundtrack (Original and Director’s Cut, non-Dual Shock)Not to mention it’s just a milestone of gaming history and anyone who likes horror games should play it.
>>12512505dual shock ost has a couple bangers
>>12512451/thread
The best version is Spamming/flooding
>>12512443original all day
>>12512443OG is what i played first so that
>>12512454Correct.
Not the one that drained all the color out of Jill's design, that's for sure.
>>12512818remake vampire jill be like:
Eat shit and die.>>>/trash/
>>12512451 remake adds too many more items and the need to carry certain items that then require more trips to the save room. at least it has excellent save room music. i replayed it earlier this year and was surprised how absurd the item management is in it, and then did a run of the original and it felt swifter than it had by comparison. it isn’t the end of the world for remake but it’s one of those flaws that the game can’t overcome, it drags at times. i think it’s worth playing, but for me it’s less enjoyable gaming. it’s not without exasperation from all the extra legwork with backtracking and item nonsense, which is quite a bit more than the original, a game that was already slow.
REmake is better. The original (the US original) is more difficult but it's still a great game. It's like comparing a 9/10 to a 8/10. It doesn't really matter.
>>12513234>It doesn't really matter. It does when the remake is actually worse and distorts the original.
I don't like Crimson Heads
Anon, pic on the right is Luigi's Mansion
>>12512443Original. Director's Cut Advanced Mode (without being a bitch and inputting the code to double your ammo).
>>12512451Based and true.
>>12513609DualShock or pussyfied japanese difficulty version?
>>12512443REmake is the best overall experience but if you really like classic Resident Evil you should try the original (Director's Cut especially) for the slightly more branching storyline and higher level of difficulty.
>>12513631What pussified japanese version? Director's Cut Advanced Mode is the same across all regions. You're thinking of Original Mode (where Hunters get killed by one magnum shot).

>>12513721nta and making what is likely a separate remark feom what he meant, the longbox original playstation release had no auto aim and less ink ribbons.
