Even the creator of the huge lolicon trend Anatomy of a Gamer got banned due to mass reports from faggots. Whether they have a good reason or not to dislike lolicon, they will still hate it with the fury of a burning sun. It's always funny to see those very same people turn out to be actual real life pedos. I liked what you posted here and liked and followed you on twitter so this is sad, but probably for the better. I know how it feels nice to have a twitter and see people like your stuff and heap on the praise, but to maintain that humility and keep yourself from becoming a part of that twitter hivemind, it's better to stay away. Even twitter lolicons are pretty faggy in their own ways>>3465435By that logic quite literally everyone is a cancer of sorts. >>3466654>the relationship between sexuality, violence, and love is a pretty important part of the series, so they're missing out on a fair bit, imo. That's the problem with people today. They refuse to be challenged, whether structurally, in terms of prose or ethically:>nonlinearity? too confusing!>an attempt at lyricism? purple prose!>the characters aren't sparkly clean morally? the author is a nazi!Just look at how many people complain about dumb shit like "the scenes not moving the plot forward" or them thinking that if the characters say something then the artist agrees with them too. I don't know how we got here when both modernists and pomos were experimental as fuck.>The artist is the creator of beautiful things. To reveal art and conceal the artist is art’s aim. The critic is he who can translate into another manner or a new material his impression of beautiful things.>The highest as the lowest form of criticism is a mode of autobiography. Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming. This is a fault.>Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope. They are the elect to whom beautiful things mean only beauty.>There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written. That is all.>No artist is ever morbid. The artist can express everything. Thought and language are to the artist instruments of an art. Vice and virtue are to the artist materials for an art.>Diversity of opinion about a work of art shows that the work is new, complex, and vital. When critics disagree, the artist is in accord with himself. We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely. >All art is quite useless.
>>3466660I appreciate the doodles, they're soulful. The "slice of life" elements of the series are quite underrated, just exploring the world is a joy in and of itself. But I also agree with the other guy. >>3466680I think consumers are generally getting better at enjoying things outside of what used to be the norm, like nonlinear stories, unreliable protagonists, and dealing with taboo subject matter considering the amount of art constantly being pumped out celebrating and exploring these things. The Internet has been great for outsider art since it allows easier distribution and consumption, but it's also been terrible for outsider art because it gives idiots without media literacy the ability to fuck up creatives and start moral crusades against their works.Corporations like Visa and Patreon attempting to sanitize the Internet by cutting off revenue sources for independent creators hasn't been great for outsider art, either. >>3466760>People like you are the reason why some boards are unusable, 4chink is not your designated shitposting place. Fuck offBut IT is. alice is looking a little different today...
It seems like more people have played/heard of BS in the last year or so than the last 4 in western communities. With how many new players there are, why does it seem like discussion about story and lore from their behalf is a fraction of what it was compared to the players of the last 4 years? Instead, we're inundated with more ritual posting, shitposting and twitter screencaps than ever. Do these new players not have questions? Do they even understand the story enough to ask? Are they going somewhere else that I dont know about (not discord)? Have they even played the game?Im always happy to help new players with the game and story, and it's half the reason I post. So it's unfortunate to see what should be our biggest cohort of players be practically non-existent in actual discussion of the game. The people who play the games now feel like they're playing for a completely different reason than what people in the past did.

>>3467054People here are evil scum bugs like this>>3467094, they don't want their hidden treasure to be touched or discussed, especially in this thread. Black souls beyond these threads have their own fans who do something on the subject. Interest could increase with the popularity of another violent game, from Fins, but BS is so morally shoddy that even those who search and talk about dark and cruel unknown games discard this stone.
>>3467272It's spelled scumbags, ESL kun.
>>3467054It seems in the last few years as the discussion on the game began to slow down, Some of the BS players have migrated to different fandoms and communities alike especially gacha games like Blue Archive and perhaps Azurlane while that in of itself isn't a problem but these people seem to be very active within these communities and as consequence the gacha players of these fandoms especially Blue archive take interest in this vidya and as lolicon begins to become somewhat of a social movement with values you have to subscribe to otherwise your an "anti", The topic of lolicon has become more mainstream atleast in these space and no longer is a good filter for BS as those gachaplayers are more interested into the waifu aspect of the vidya instead of the story. In some way, They are interested only on the rape, H-scenes and waifufagging because rape le funny and look at "Cunny UUOOH".While I don't think the solution to this problem is stopping the waifufagging, Its far much better to atleast once every thread have a lore discussion or some lorefag to loredumb all what he knows which always will lead to discussion and more lorefaggotry and perhaps produce more lorefags as they seem to decrease in number with each passing thread.
>>3467317I'm still here and I imagine a lot of other lorefags are here too. We just don't post much because there's no one asking questions. And discussing the same old tired plot points (the/a! ship of theseus!) with each other gets tiring. The gacha community crossover is concerning. At least PMfags were interested mostly in the game's story, but gachafags might be in it mostly for waifufaggotry or because it's trendy.
>>3467326PMfags turned into gachafags too...
>>3467326>We just don't post much because there's no one asking questions.Yeah. Generally I butt in when I see people wondering about shit, or correcting people saying X is because of Y, when it's actually because of Z, and so on. It's not like I don't try to lorefag outside of that or anything either, but trying to piece together shit to try to figure out something new isn't exactly conducive to thread discussion when it comes out looking like some Pepe Silvia-tier schizophrenic theory in written form, I usually keep that kind of shit to myself until I've got a more polished way to present it.
>>3467317I don't think I live in the same world as you.
The lack of Red Dead Hood and the mini-scenario of Grimm living with her is driving people to raise their SEN as means to sustain the wait.Half tempted to go and update BS1's OW sprites with new ones as we wait.

You're getting things wrong with "Hearing about it" and actually playing the damn thing. Most people that you see out there are just trying to fit in with their shitty posts about Red or Alice. They know nothing about the source material and they don't care. They just want to be "Le quirky" and farm their internet points for validation. Do you really think that the average twitterfag would be able to play through a nonlinear game like this? Even better, don't you think that he would be filtered just by the artstyle itself?>we're inundated with more ritual posting, shitposting and twitter screencaps than ever.I just wish people would stop posting those screencaps man.... >>3467454Unis scenes were one of the best of dlc3 the only downside is the lack of them,Like only a rape and prison scene isn't enough if you exclude the reward scene.EMMM definitely gonna add her as the main heroine of bs3 I just know it.
>>3467317I dont really have an issue with waifufagging itself. But like you mentioned, it feels like people are playing the game for that and the funny rape man completely missing what makes the story great imo. This is what I meant when people are playing for different reasons than what they used to with different expectations on what the game is. It's like this every where the game is disucssed now, not just /vrpg/. I avoid actually talking on f95, discord, and twitter but still lurk/get art for the game occasionally. It's the same case there but way worse. It genuinely feels like people dont understand the basics of the story and feel more like secondaries than people who actually played the game. >lolicon becomes to become somewhat of a social movementThis is another issue when the game is seen online more often. Cunny makes certain people mad and people may play/attack the game just for that. Just breeds more shitposters.>>3467481Yeah I realize we have more secondaries than ever. There are definitely more new players though. There is a certain percentage of new players from people who just hear about the game. Even if they get filtered by the games themselves they continue to post about the game or play because they saw a twitter shitpost with a leaf/alice image.>>3467326Im the same way. Im just a lorefag who helps people understand lore when I can. With all the BA popularity there is an understandable overlap between this community and their own. Im worried more about activist types latching onto the game because of that with the while loli debate being more popular than ever.

>>3467541Yeah it was definitely not enough, Leiden got shafted on the exact same way I liked how gentle she actually was on her service scene with Grimm, that was a nice contrast to such a strong character. >>3467481Damn, did a tranny flag kill your dog or something? My condolences.>>3467831I 100% agree, I was kind of sad when only JubJub helped Grimm escape TCO. I get that JubJub started questioning her place in the narrative because of Grimm's dick and love and all that, but it seems odd that Bandersnatch wouldn't be loyal to Grimm to the end. She has the most direct and amicable history with him, and seems to genuinely care about the guy. She also seems to know something's not right about the world and is the only person that insists that Alice is dead, although I'm not sure how aware she is of TCO's bullshit or what she actually saw in the library. Maybe Jabberwock just groomed her real good after Ending G, I dunno. Bandersnatch is a friend.
>>3467952If her niggerman form is anything to go by, she's anything but a friend. She could very well be playing a long con given that her title is The Patient One.
>>3467952I didn't notice at the time but it does feels weird her not being there. Specially with her being the more simple minded of the three.
>>3467959I'm holding out hope that her Lovecraft Mythos counterpart doesn't have too much bearing on her character due to Character Development or Toro wanting to do something different with her. I'm coping hard, but I want to be her friend and have everything turn out okay. Griffy and Mock Turtle will live happily ever after, Bill will get estrogen, Red Hood will live past 20, Mary Sue will learn how to write good fiction and get therapy, Prickett will reunite with Grimm, Bandersnatch will be everyone's friend, and nothing bad will ever happen again. The real Black Souls will be the friends we made along the way.
What does it mean when characters reffer to Grimm with the player name instead of Grimm? Mabel and Node always use the player name, it's not like when Grimm hears his true name makes him remember anything, is it just like his 2nd name or has someone noticed anything more interesting
>>3467982I remember some lorefag trying to speculate just what this might mean, but I'd just wait until we get newer games tbdesu. We don't have anything substantial, so any ideas we can come up with will be just wild unsubstantiated speculation.

>>3468080Oh, probably, as far as I know. There's still probably something to unpack about the Cheshire Cat taking on the form of something that spooks in the Lovecraft Mythos fear, but I'm not smart enough to hypothesize as to the significance of that. Maybe that's also a joke at the expense of the Outer Ones. The Cheshire Cat also has an uncanny resemblance to my girlfriend and I'm not sure what Toro meant by that.

>>3467982>What does it mean when characters reffer to Grimm with the player name instead of Grimm? That is something I've been trying to figure out for a while now, like >>3467987 said. There's clearly something to it in my opinion, but we don't have much to work off of.>is it just like his 2nd name or has someone noticed anything more interestingThe player inputted name comes up in very weird situations. For some quick examples, BS1 D (said by TCO), Jabber's rape dungeon snowman in Carroll River has the player name instead of Grimm or any other known author along with only being visible at 0 SEN, GG in the VN (as said by the doll at the door, telling you to escape), in the fucking flesh pit by Grimm himself when he's trying to remember who he is, and in the merge ending with GG by Node when there's absolutely zero script or reason to go off of. None of these really track with the whole idea of the player name just being a pseudonym for Grimm, I'm thinking it's someone actually in there, potentially even the soul of the vessel that the authors all reside in considering the Hotel scene.
>>3468210My pet theory is that it's the designation for you, the player, as the soul currently controlling Grimm. Something like Deltarune, as dumb as that sounds. My only evidence for this is the scene in the remains of the Poseidon Hotel where all the souls inside Grimm yell at each other and presumably Grimm while Grimm tries to say he's not evil and it's not his fault. Maybe we, the player, are the Black Soul. Or some bullshit like that. This is probably completely wrong, so take it with a grain of salt.
>>3467795What thread?
>>3467982>>3468210I like the theory that Mary "fused" all those authors by feeding all their brains to the same ghoul. We, [PlayerName], are that ghoul.

>>3468779Grimm was created but only in the sense of being a conglomerate of pre-existing souls given a nice dose of mind break and shoved into a single vessel. Mary cannot create something from nothing, she needs existing materials to edit into what she wants, and that process of gathering and editing existing materials into what she wants is what constitutes her creation process and applies to all of her creations.
>>3469802Where I come from, we, even with a lot of generosity, would call that a retcon.>"You told me my father was dead">"In a manner of speaking"
>>3469854>Where I come from, we, even with a lot of generosity, would call that a retcon.Must be an unfortunate place to come from.
>>3469860Yeah, it's called 99% of the world.
>>3469861In their current forms, Grimm, Red, or the fairy tales in general wouldn't exist without Mary's actions. She is the one responsible for editing whoever and whatever into what we see in RHW and BS1, so in this sense she is in fact their creator. That doesn't change the fact that her creative process is just (poorly) editing existing shit into shit she wants. That isn't even really a retcon, it's something we've at least known about since BS1, we're just given more information about the whole process in BS2.
>>3469742Everyone here is asking about DRH , the princess game, and BS3 and when it will release. But, honestly? They might as well not without Rare_Cats doing the translation. These games are so stupidly complicated and reference laden that BS2 was already a nigh insurmountable task to translate, let alone to the incredibly high standard that it did. Rare_Cats is the reason for that. There is no way anyone else will be able to muster up the sheer amount of EN/JP knowledge, understanding of the material used, and the game itself to produce something on par with the previous translations. We are well and properly fucked without Rare_Cats and I don't think people fully grasp just how bad things really are if he doesn't come back or died.
>>3469868I'll just rely on intuition and shitty MTL tools and suffer that way like I did for DLC 3 before it released, it's still better than not playing it at all.

>>3469868Which is why (and I've been saying this for a while) if rare_cats continues to be missing we should set up a fundraiser to hire a professional translator. At the very least at the same level as the guys who did Dies Irae and Muramasa. Literary ones would probably cost an arm an a leg.Alternatively we could try to get Mangagamer (or some other publisher) interested in the games so that they can fund the translation for us.
I tried using the train to Queensland at 0 SEN but Hein was wearing a weird yellow shirt and spouting nonsense about how Grimm jerks off 4 times a day and claimed Prickett was an "illusion"
>>3469870>But if you are saying "Grimm wasn't actually created and was just a guy that was also edited" despite the characters, especially those that know better and should know better, saying "Grimm was created and he's the most interesting and delicious thing since sliced bread with chocolate" then...Let me try phrasing it like this to see if it makes more sense to you. Grimm is a creation of Mary Sue's, but he is not a new, original work. He's like a niggerman version of one of those Deviantart Sonic OC templates. Mary Sue is only capable of derivative works (as shown in the games, and I believe it's mentioned by EMMM in an interview), of editing existing content to suit her own purposes. This is both in terms of creative potential and creative ability (as shown with the Power to Change) so she does not create anything new or original when creating, which I think is the point you're been hung up on since the post here >>3468658.So yes, in this respect Grimm is just a guy (actually many guys) that was heavily edited into who we know as Grimm today by Mary Sue. He is not (at least not as of now) some completely new, original person that Mary Sue created ex nihilo due to how he was created. To repeat, as far as we are aware of, Mary Sue is incapable of ex nihilo creation. The Power to Change is fucking broken, but it does not create something from nothing, and never has had that ability as far as we are aware of. Even BS1 describes her power as the power to change reality as she sees fit, as per Prayer Master, and BS2 doesn't retcon this. Also, as for the niggermen thinking Grimm's the hottest thing since sliced bread, it should be kept in mind that niggermen have rock bottom level creativity. Mary's unironically the top tier among the known niggermen as far as creativity goes, and all she's capable of is kidnapping some people, fucking with their minds, and having them act out her bad self-insert fan-fapfiction.
>>3469870What the fuck are you talking about
>>3469899The idea I'm hung up with is that Grimm-the-body was just a nobody that Leaf found, flattened up even more body and mind, put the souls in it, and that the original soul reawakened. That in BS that was why he was perfectly sound of mind, because they were all in sync, or because they were all in sync and Grimm was the pilot. Leaf being shit, except when she is very fucking lucy.I always was under the impression that Leaf flattened all the souls, made a body, put them in there, and because one soul had to be chief among them, one was created or put in there like a soul would be placed into a baby.I guess I'm a bit vexed at the idea of Grimm not being a legit created being and that is smell too much of sequel retcons to me.>as shown in the games, and I believe it's mentioned by EMMM in an interviewOhhh? I want that.> and having them act out her bad self-insert fan-fapfiction.And making shitty maps
>>3469897can't believe carroll molested her so hard that she became a furry from the trauma
>>3469905>I always was under the impression that Leaf flattened all the souls, made a body, put them in there>Leaf...made a bodyI'm not the anon that originally wrote >>3468519, but as far as we currently know, if Mary creates ANYTHING, it's with her Power to Change. Given the known limitations on the Power to Change, it's very reasonable to assume that Grimm's body isn't an ex nihilo creation, the same as every other known aspect of Grimm's creation or for Mary's other known creations. Everything we know of that she does creatively is edits.>and because one soul had to be chief among them, one was created or put in there like a soul would be placed into a baby. There's not much existing lore about creating souls in the series so far, but what we have currently points to manually creating souls being extremely difficult, if not outright impossible. The process of editing souls into what you want seems to be the way to go, hence BS1 Victoria's creation, among many others.>Ohhh? I want that.Took a minute.https://ch.dlsite.com/matome/91660Interviewer is asking if 01 (in BS1's intro) is an original creation of Mary's here.町民「アリスの外見を作ったのはリィフ?」Did Leaf create Alice's appearance?トロ「真似たのはリィフだよ。彼女はあくまでメアリィ・スー。二次創作しかできない」It was Leaf who imitated it. She is just Mary Sue. She can only create derivative works.Essentially, you can think of it as Mary's creative constraints being similar to GG's, which makes sense as GG was literally her power. Both need existing shit to work off of in order to create anything.I'll also try to preempt any 01 shitposting and say that EMMM's talking about the appearance (I.E. the vessel) here for 01. We still know 01 is Prickett, as per GG in BS2. Basically, Mary ends up recreating Prickett's 01 vessel to reenact the end of the Tea Party for the start of BS1.

>>3470016The latter. If those miserable years are with me, I'll make sure we reach the happy ones.
>>3470030I honestly don't care as long as they aren't coming for these threads.Ever since one of you faggots told me to get a x*tter account and I have not seen a singular good thing coming my way other than perhaps Toro liking my shit and getting a feel on my senpainoticedme moment.I rather post here and preserve on my pixiv and I get valuable feedback from certain anons here which really is needed since I'm still a beginner to the whole drawfaggotry thing
I need to take a break from drawing by drawing. What should I draw that is simple and lewd?
>>3470135How about something cute with Dodo?
>>3470139I said lewd
>>3470152Cute and lewd with Dodo then
>>3470155Need a little more detail than that.
>>3470135Dodo spewing nonsense while her clothes are just about to explode with Grimm sweating profusely watching it happen
>>3470135>I need to take a break from drawing by drawing.Literally me.....But with all seriousness if you looking for **lewd** and simple go for Haigha. Dodo require drawing clothes while the slutty hare has her very tight bunnysuit.Ngl I rather Victoria because of her guro potential.
>>3470144 Grimm should have gave Mary the bunnysuit instead of Node...you simply cannot tell me otherwise
>>3470171That's already a scene though, I'll modify it to something else.
>>3463626This is nothing. The game got posted on a sub with an user overlap with animecirclejerk yesterday and it got +1k updoots.
>>3470217I was thinking of that scene. Just with a different perspective showing Grimm's reaction like picrel. Be free to modify it in any way you want tho.
Do we know exactly how powerful Grimm is canonically supposed to be? Not trying to start a powerlevelfag argument, it just seems hard to tell due to the setting and the in game mechanics
>>3470171nsfw, I really can't draw armor.https://files.catbox.moe/a2fr0q.png
>>3470319> those titties Pretty accurate to the game desu, looking pretty good and the armor is kinda irrelevant since Its not the main focus of the drawing so don't worry about it
>>3470319Dodos bobos....Thanks for the drawing bro, also for someone who doesn't know how to draw armor your Grimm is pretty on point there.
>>3470213Cope

>>3470382>>3470392Can't wait for bs3 in 2035 to seggs Leaf again
>>34703972080*Sorry minor mistake there.
Just break his switch already ffs. We would probably be already at BS5 by this point if not for this apparatus.
>>3470095>beginnerOne part of me tells me that you’re an experienced artist who currently adapted a style of you choice, and only calling yourself a beginner
>>3470410My secret is autism I only drew obsessively jet fighters and my nightmares ever since I was a kid, that's where all my "experience" comes from and It was traditional art.Im still a beginner to drawing people atleast that aren't deformed by choice thus my anatomy problems begins and how some just straight up look shit for example redhood before I change her face kek
>>3470418My beloved maiden
>>3470418The BS1 intro is so weird, Jeanne appears to kill the guard but doesn't even open the door, at least I figured out if you skip the intro it lets you play the game, unlike BS2 which is just talking to Alice and then doing nothing in the room with the unopenable door
>>3470469>doing nothing in the room with the unopenable doorthe "unopenable" door with a key right next to it?
I haven't been here for so long I forgot parts of the story...What did the rabbit do to betray Grimm and Alice in the tea party for 3? Did he summon baphometh?
CHILDMAKING SEX EVERYDAY WITH MABEL UUUUUUHHH
Lorina is better when her mind is broken.
>>3470537Black Rabbit made a prayer, said prayer reached Mary, Mary got in and ended the tea party.
Fuck you Alice. And especially you Lewis.
>>3465640AILCE!!!
>>3470548He thought he did. Prickett (Alice 01) is the one that actually ended the tea party.
>>3470548Oh right, They were in TCO's garden back then, Mary snatched Grimm to her garden... but was it all Grimm? Or just LC? Because if I remember correctly Mary created Grimm, so that must have been just LC
>>3470558Who are "these women"?
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz
>>3470562The jap wiki thinks it was Grimm, but the consensus here is that it's bollocks. The timeline only makes sense if it was just Lewis.
>>3470558He is at least partially responsible, both games make it a point to drill this fact in. BS2 just shows that Prickett also had a part in it.
>>3470562General consensus here is that it was Lewis.
Who would be the author in focus for BS3 if it ever comes? Lovecraft?
>>3470575Milton's gonna be huge.
>>3470577There would only be paradise lost to work with though.
>>3470575Shakespeare was heavily hinted at in 2.Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm are likely going to get a conclusion to their story. Here's a quick rundown on their life:https://arch.b4k.co/vrpg/thread/3311284#3315580https://arch.b4k.co/vrpg/thread/3311284#3315586>>3470583There's more to him than that. His Lycidas might be what inspired the whole God of Sheep thing. He was also a revolutionary, heavily criticised the king's rule, was wanted by the authorities at some point in his life. He also lost his sight and had to dictate Paradife Loft to his daughters. Lost his wife, too. He had a pretty colourful life.Methought I saw my late espoused saint Brought to me, like Alcestis, from the grave, Whom Jove's great son to her glad husband gave, Rescu'd from death by force, though pale and faint.Mine, as whom wash'd from spot of child-bed taint Purification in the old Law did save, And such as yet once more I trust to have Full sight of her in Heaven without restraint,Came vested all in white, pure as her mind; Her face was veil'd, yet to my fancied sight Love, sweetness, goodness, in her person shin'dSo clear as in no face with more delight. But Oh! as to embrace me she inclin'd, I wak'd, she fled, and day brought back my night.
>>3470583DLC 3 ties him in pretty hard with Hastur.
>>3470566Current Alices
>>3470537Technically, he did pray for someone to come and separate "Alice" and his new friend but the "joke" is that it's actually "Alice"'s prayer that was responsible of summoning Leaf. It's his thing, everyone including his son think he sinned, and he did, but, it's not a sin that did much. >>3470568>>3470572I feel deeply attacked. (I don't)
>>3469960The Fagles version is clearly the superior translation.

>>3470767it's on the required reading list
>>3470774I don't mean Touhou in general. I mean that reference in particular.
>>3470779i doubt it was seen as noteworthy, just an example of Touhou and BS referencing the same historical thing
>>3470783I guess. But because of the extra bits of character spell cards are meant to hint at, it's interesting to know of the Grand Guignol being an interest of Margatroid's.
>>3467795Bist of the North Star?
>>3470028What's the ending if you turn around at the end, my friend and I were scared while she was streaming it but I definitely wouldn't try that section on my lonesome.
>>3470801alice is enough of an autist that i can see it honestlyit's funny how it's canon that she's an unintentionally(?) creepy weirdo
>>3470812There were only puppets.
>>3469980I wish I could make you the happiest woman in the world.
>>3470842Oh... I was hoping it'd at least be happy escapism. No jumpscare though, right?
>>3470856>No jumpscare though, right?No
>>3470886Sorry, "no, there isn't" or "no, there is"I hate the English language sometimes
>>3470588I don't know about Shakespeare, but if leaf is going to be involved it would probably be twisted into something like, Juliet is just using Romeo all this time and both family died except for her. Probably twist the whole love thing in midsummer into a cult-like obsession too.
>>3470909don't forget, ofc, there's gonna be 10x more rape and violence
>>3470923Maybe switch around tragedy and comedy works too. Macbeth is actually a hot woman who killed the queen haha?
>>3470926Nevermind, that wasn't funny.
>>3470926inb4 Romeo and Juliet has the age difference focused on (if not exaggerated) and Romeo is a pedophile or somethingmaybe it'd be a reflection of Carroll and Alice
>>3470812
>>3470943This is unnerving but also very sadThank you. Also weird/concerning since I didn't see this in the CG list, meaning that there's more jumpscares than the ones I've seen in the files
>>3470889you can safely assume it's a negative/positive if they use said negative/positive statement without elaborating (so in this case it would be "no, there isn't")
Newfag here. Just beat BS II and only got ending A and C. Are there any tips on how to get the other endings? I know there's a lot of walkthroughs out there but they autistically go in depth which kinda loses the appeal of trying to find them on your own.
Reread Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass last year, but actually gave the Hunting of the Snark a read since BS2 kept referring it. I loved the stories but I'd have to say that this was his true and underrated masterpiece.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlXPCAm5nHwThere's a decent musical as well, I cried during Butcher and Beaver's song (because it reminds me of my best friend whom I love, and streamed BS 1/2 at me and got me into it)Carroll loved playing around with logic, but iirc it was more evident here than his books. The Snark is also a near-eldritch tier mystery>>3470950That is the case in the common convention, but it's logically incorrect, so there's autists like me who'll just instinctively give the logical response that goes against conventions
>>3470963>BLiterally doesn't matter at this point, unironically the only ending you can completely ignore in the series. Requirements are just A, but with Sin or not all of the heroines.>DIn the poison swamp down where you fight Helkaiser and Miranda, there's a cave there guarded by a Satyr. Go in there and complete the requests.
>>3470967That's BS I though...
>>3470966>That is the case in the common convention, but it's logically incorrectthis is true. it's always best to elaborate
>>3470971Yeah, it's best to clarify immediately after the answer. I know I was confused as a kid when mom>"you aren't sorry?">"no" (because me not being sorry is incorrect)>she gets madder
>>3470963You probably played the game enough to learn the truth about certain concepts, so I'll leave under the spoiler a tipplay the game, right from the very start, with 0 sen
>>3470968Sorry, just woke up and only saw one | when posting that.>A, C, D, EAll require you going through the door, what ending you get depends on what you do behind that door, and what your SEN is at while doing it. A and C are at high SEN, D and E are at zero SEN.>BFor the sake of simplicity, you can think of it as requiring all non-Nightmare covenants. Afterwards, go and fuck Node, and then tell her you're tired.>F/GThis is where the really spoilerish shit starts, so if you want to figure it out on your own, I'll just say to start with 0 SEN, and go out through the door leading to Lutwidge ASAP after defeating the Headhunting Beast.
>>3470975>>3470976thanks bros, can I use ng+ for this or do I need a new save?
>>3470982You're intended to NG+ for it.
>>3470982NG+. I'd also like to mention that you're kinda supposed to know that by now.Keep notes of your seemingly fruitless pursuits, and mentions of cycles/time traveling.
>>3470767It's not the first time.
>>3470842>>3470943Waxworks to be precise.
>>3471007Correct, but technically it's close enough anyways.
>>3471009Uncorrect my good friend! The word is very important after all.
>>3471011The waxworks are the puppets used, so it basically means the same thing here.
>>3471012No I meant, if you don't know they are waxworks you won't make the connection between it, the patients in the asylum, what Lewis said in the VN, what the tweedle said, and DLC3 final boss.
>>3471014>the patients in the asylum,Do you mean the Mental Ward? Those are in the process of ghoulification, just like the Patients in the Nursing Graveyard, they just don't get a chance to complete their regimen like the ones in the Nursing Graveyard do. Ghoulification is completely unrelated to the waxwork shit to my knowledge.
>>3471019Come now, they have hollow faces, it's clearly a waxfork reference.
How do you people pick up so many obscure or Nietzsche things about this game
>>3471020No, it's just their flesh rotting off as per the medicine they're given. There's a reason why the Star Fluid takes out 90% of your max HP when you use it, and it's not for flavor.
>>3471022>the more it will hurt>meanwhile the Thad Grimm doesn't give a shitBut more seriously you can't deny that they look like it, maybe it's a coincidence, or a story coincidence to reinforce the theatre theme.>>3471021Passion, autism, or both.
>>3471005Igyoukyo?
>>3471025Naaaah.Yes.
>>3471024>But more seriously you can't deny that they look like it, maybe it's a coincidence, or a story coincidence to reinforce the theatre theme.I'd say it's an intentional reinforcement of the theater theme, but with what we're shown they're definitely two entirely different things in-story. The giant pool they're drinking from in the Nursing Graveyard is just a ton of the Star Fluid all the Patients are given. Hell, even just walking in it damages you.
>>3471028And the second image I wanted to post along with that. >>3471021I've been playing since the MTL for BS2 first came out, so I've been at it for a few years now. At this point there isn't much that I haven't seen time and time again in the game, so it's more a matter of trying to piece it all together.
>>3471007Yes, of course. I was quoting the game.
>>3471028The game is mean, all that WHITE FLUID you can walk into, and it doesn't max it in our inventory. Ruuuuude.I find it funny how EMMM make Soulsborne references into genuinely meaningful things.>I'd say it's an intentional reinforcement of the theater theme, but with what we're shown they're definitely two entirely different things in-storyYeah. The games are all about piercing things together and wondering if it's intentional or not. And it's intentional, is it tied to the story or not, the dev trying to tell us something, etc etc.To think that EMMM had though of the whole waxwork thing this far back into the very start of the game.
>>3471037>To think that EMMM had though of the whole waxwork thing this far back into the very start of the game.I believe EMMM's gone on record saying he's had his Touhou thing planned out in a journal of his for like 10 years now, odds are he's doing the same for BS.
>>3471039NTA but he's at the level of autism where I'd be more surprised if he DIDN'T have everything planned out
i'll probably draw something lewd again to take a break from drawing.
>>3471039He is Life. Creator of Kinos.

Where can i find the machinegun in BS 1?I'm so tired of swords in (j)rpgs that it's even funny anymore
>>3471074Hans is kinda shit in BS1, but I think you get it after defeating him in the bone zone.
>>3471076Ty>gun sucksI take anything over a sword,my guntism is that strong
>>3471078Well, you can go with staff autism if you want something a bit more optimal, Magic's broken in BS1.
>>3471078>>3471074Based.Make sure to check out Underrail, fantastic game. Wasteland 2 was okay, haven't played Wasteland 3 yet. E.Y.E is a weird game you'll either love or hate.Jagged Alliance 2/3 are in my backlog, heard great things about them but haven't gotten around to playing them yet.

>>3471050Give me Mad Hatter hang rope sex.
>>3471021A game that is built on references to classic literature will absolutely attract those who are fans of literature, and people who enjoy literature tend to enjoy philosophy.

Three months ago, I saw a funny looking green fairy girl on youtube. Two months ago, I just saw a video about raping every single black souls 2 girlNow, after downloading and played both game, I am going to red hood.
>>3471192>I am going to red hood.not before toro had his turn
>>3471192Well play "Redhood's woods" If you are that much of Redcuck, Its an optional prequel to Bs1 which is why not much people talk about it nowadays.
>>3471192RHW exists, but honestly I'd avoid it unless you're wanting to lorefag and can stomach a legitimately awful (albeit short) game. Both BS1 and BS2 reference it a fair amount though, if that matters to you at all.
>>3471214If understanding references is what you want then Alice in Wonderland is far more important of a target than RHW. BS2 references it far more than it does RHW. And AiW is an actually fun read that's worth going for even in a vacuum, disconnected from the context of the games. You should read it if you have even a passing interest in linguistics.
>>3471221While you're not wrong if we're talking about literary references, books weren't the point of that post. RHW won't massively expand your understanding of the series or anything, but you will see a number of callbacks to it in both BS games, and that's probably the best reason I can come up with for anyone to bother playing Red's first game.
>>3471214>pic>RWBY's in thereFucking disgusting.>>3471226It help that BS2 had more... clearer references to Red's game.
Did Carroll have sexual relations with Alice Liddell in the in-game lore? We know he was tormented with sexual desire by Mary (VN section) but is there anything signifying that he actually acted on it in the real world before niggermen yoinked him?
>>3471269>Did Carroll have sexual relations with Alice Liddell in the in-game lore?I don't think he stuck his dick in, but he and Alice were clearly pretty intimate before being split up.
>3470982>>3470976Alright, just finished ending A, C, D, and E of Black Souls II. Gonna try to do a run for ending B. Any tips on how to not let the girls get killed? I remember in my first run Dodo, Shisha, and Duchess just mysteriously died after a while. should I limit the progression meter while going for them?
>>3471269And I have another related question. We know that the timeline most likely is:>real world>tea party with Prickett/TCO>mindbreaking by Mary (VN section)>start of BS1Did Lewis have sex with Prickett (Alice) during the tea party? Given the highly sexual nature of niggermen one might think so. But if he did, why would Mary's sexual torments have any power? Is it because he was having sex with an idealised, older, book version of Alice instead of the real-life child Liddell?
>>3471284There is a character, identified by a massive amount of blood messages around them, who causes the killings. They also boast about it once you reach progress 10.You might not have reached this character yet. Did you find the Mental Ward? If not, try playing around with 0 SEN after starting NG+.
>>3471289The one with the KILL messages and that dual wield message? Jubjub I think? On my first run she wasn't there though i probably took a look at her while I was at 10. Then when I did my 0 san she was just there and I ignored her. Do I need to kill her before a certain point?
>>3471284>Any tips on how to not let the girls get killed?Explore more, find the killer. You might have already found them, but weren't paying enough attention to what they were saying.>>3471287>Did Lewis have sex with Prickett (Alice) during the tea party? It's strongly implied that they ended up fucking, but nothing is outright confirmed to my immediate recollection. I'd have to doublecheck with Tea Party for Three and Prickett's lines to make sure though. But if he did, why would Mary's sexual torments have any power?Because it's a reminder of mutual love that was lost/what Lewis could never have? It's not like Mary's torture was only sexual in nature either, look at the radio in the VN for an example of that.
>>3471287>Did Lewis have sex with Prickett (Alice)Bold of you to assume it was Lewis and not Grimm
>>3470831She called Suika a voyeur once. It may be that she's the only 2hu who'd actually know what that is.
>>3471301Nta but it was before Mary came and ended the tea party, If Mary made Grimm from the amalgamation of different writers including Lewis then Its Lewis and not Grimm that was at the Tea party with Prickett
>>3471382That's... a very stupid argument.
>>3471382The anon that thinks that it's Grimm at the tea party thinks that Mary created Grimm beforehand and lost him somehow, assuming it's the same anon that's posted about it before. I think it's bullshit, but that's just me.
>>3471399I'm not the only one, on this side of the fandom or the other, if that mean anything.
>>3471388>>3471405Can you elaborate? Why is it stupid?
>>3471483Maybe not stupid, that was harsh from me. I was a bit put off because you were being a bit redundant and my brain glitched. The general argument against Grimm being the one at the tea party is Leaf talked and grabbed to Lewis, and it's fair, but what is stopping Leaf from grabbing Lewis, making Grimm, losing Grimm, and getting Grimm back?
>>3471496Theoretically, nothing. But there's also nothing to support the claim. EMMM may add some piece of lore that either confirms or debunks the theory in the future, but for now the less convoluted theory makes the most sense.
>>3471507My argument: Where do you think we are, and what do you think we are talking about. Also something about Mad Hatter being undead, but why is she undead of she's supposed to represent Lewis. Why could Lewis and co fight with eldritch creatures, why do people that should know Grimm as Lewis, know him as Grimm and not Lewis.
>>3465640games like this? with neat exploration and an interesting world that feels kind of unique? also lots of freedom would be appreciated as in black souls
>>3471518Would saying "Souls games" be too obvious?
>>3471520yes. not looking for "obvious" answers. played most modern fromsoft games. enjoyed most of them. and many other souls like suck in the exploration department, which was the strongest point besides the atmospheric world of fromsofts souls games for me.
>>3471520That's too soulful.
>>3471518Hollow Knight. HK, BS and Bloodborne are the big 3 games that reminded me of the way I explored Dark Souls 1 for the first time.I really enjoyed exploring Underrail, though not in the same way as Souls games. The world also doesn't feel as unique, but charting new grounds through its cities and caves felt fantastic.Outer Wilds is a pretty popular exploration-focused game. I ultimately felt it was too easy and straightforward in the way it presented its story and the solution to its puzzles (the ship notes didn't help) but a lot of people love the game to death.Heard great things about Rain World, haven't played it yet. Same with Northern Journey.
>>3471399>bullshitWhy?BS1 outright says that it was Grimm at the tea party.
>>3471527I'd say that Lords of the Fallen (2023, not the first one) is one of the few Souls-like that nails the exploration, and I've heard that Hellpoint is also good in that regard. For non-Souls games, how about some Metroidvania stuff? Hollow Knight and Rain World, like the other anon mentioned, is pretty great when it comes to exploration. A lot of the older Zelda games are also fun to explore.
>>3471520>webmOkay, I'm taking that and naming it epic fail, even if it's a faulty design, it's still an elevator moment.>>3471546Yes! Praise my name! Praise my glory! Praise the Japanese Fandom of Black Souls!
>>3471546> BS1 outright says that it was Grimm at the tea party. Funnily enough she doesn't specify
>>3471569And then in the same game, she decide it's Grimm, and in the second one too, there's even his possible diary in the library of the first game.I'd like to say it's EMMM not paying attention, but we all know it's less than likely, it's possible that it's Leaf being cheeky, or being legit forgetful... or there's something deeper.
>>3471568Please tell me it's not a noose.
>>3471577Seems to just be shading
>>3471575But that doesn't deny anything I have said Grimm is the amalgamation of many writers and Lewis is one of them, she wouldn't refer to him as Lewis after combining him with others ofc But we are talking about the Tea party before Mary even enters the picture here Surely TCO didn't create Grimm and we agree its Leaf, So we should also agree that at the Tea party It was Lewis and not Grimm
>>3471628The Grimm argument lies in the fact that there are two possible timelines:>Alice & Lewis make a wish>TCO kidnaps them and starts the tea party>Mary steals Lewis and makes Grimm>BS1 startsThe other one being:>Alice & Lewis make a wish>Mary kidnaps Lewis to make Grimm>Mary somehow loses Grimm, who is then picked up by TCO>the tea party happens>TCO loses Grimm, who is picked up again by Mary>BS1 startsAs far as I know, there is no evidence to indicate that the latter happened. Timeline 1 is less convoluted, ergo more likely to be true unless proven otherwise by future games.
All these talk about Grimm actually being Lewis at the Tea Party is dumb as shit and the anon who started it in the first place has barely played the game and shits up that other forum with his shitty lore question trying to come up with his le Mary Sue hypothesis with his headcanon.
>>3471655>and the anon who started it in the first place has barely played the game and shits up that other forum with his shitty lore question trying to come up with his le Mary Sue hypothesis with his headcanon.explain further, but in english this time please
>>3471655Explain to me the name "Grimm" in the context of the whole series, because I'm starting to think that this name mean something perhaps different to you. Also learn one or two thing about argumentation because you have gave exactly no points to back up anything you have said lately.
>>3471681Notice how he does not deny the fact that he barely touched the games and is still waiting to be spoonfed answers.>>3471287>Did Lewis have sex with Prickett (Alice) during the tea party? You would not be asking this question If you actually played the game and find out what TCO's initial objectives were and the upcoming garden wars.
>>3471628>Grimm is the amalgamation of many writers and Lewis is one of them, she wouldn't refer to him as Lewis after combining him with others ofc Anon, she refered to him by multiple name until she ended up calling him Grimm, just like I said...>But we are talking about the Tea party before Mary even enters the picture hereI'm working under the possibility that Mary lost him or something, because like I said there... >>3471516>Mad Hatter being undead, but why is she undead of she's supposed to represent Lewis. Why could Lewis and co fight with eldritch creatures, why do people that should know Grimm as Lewis, know him as Grimm and not Lewis.Yeah, what you say make sense, problem is, so is what I'm saying. So we are screwed.>>3471638>timelineOh.Oh God. Imagine that. >>3467054I know this was forever ago but 4chan is just regarded as the depths of hell wich scares away most of the people getting into these niche games, then if they do come to a black souls thread they're gatekept by a few people and it's just easier to fuck off and figure things out for yourself, plus after i read this post i decided to check out other places black souls has a presence in,the discord server is pretty dead but the subreddit is a bit active with new players though it's mostly gameplay questions from what i saw
>>3471816>subreddit>check it out>it's realFucking hell. I remember looking for it all the years back and being proud that this it was one of the few games r*ddit hadn't touched with its tendrils.>check top posts>Fear & Hunger, Project Moon and Blue Archive
>>3471834i was surprised too that there was a reddit lmao but it's one of the first things that showed up for me when i searched up black souls
>>3471816Xitter also has a bit of a black souls presence though i'd say the most reliable place to talk about black souls outside of the /vrpg/ threads is f95zone,though it's still pretty ass.
>>3471030The JRPG format is a bit daunting and jumpscares turn me into a baby, but I should really finish the game myself (instead of having been shown and told all of it by fren)>>3471117I love those things too (but I didn't literally mean Nietzsche I meant niche but was being cute), it's just that a lot of callbacks are vague or resurface like 800 hours later into the game, so I'm always impressed
>>3471638I still think that it's Grimm given the context of the story, his supposed memory loss, and what we know of what happened pre-BS1 and 2.I've posted this timeline more in-depth before when discussing this with someone else a year or two ago but it goes something like this:>Lewis sees old Alice and makes a wish, Mary responds and uses him to create Grimm. Grimm is still an actual entity with a home in the physical world based on ending G of BS2.>Old Alice at nearly the same time indirectly contacts TCO reminiscing on the old days with Lewis>After both of these memories, we get perspective of lewis/grimm disoriented, without memory, and bells ringing indicating the entrance of a niggerman into the real world I think this indicates that Grimm has already been tampered with considering he doesnt even know his own name>TCO (Prickett) retrieves Grimm and the first tea party and subsequent events take place>Black rabbit and Prickett make wishes allowing Leaf to retrieve Grimm and take Wonderland with itThe biggest indicator is the unexplained memory loss and that Prickett never really indicates that she cares for Lewis specifically. It is always for Grimm. She is not obsessed with Lewis which sets her apart from the rest of TCO There are also events that take place during the first tea party or some time before BS1 that indicate that (you) or Grimm fight with the Old King, Jabber, etc. and I dont believe Lewis as an old man is capable of doing so.It is more convoluted but I believe it fits into the context of the wider story based on how the memories are presented. I could see it going either way, but this makes more sense to me.>>3471816Like I mentioned before, I have checked all these places and discussion sucks major cock even with new people
>>3471887>instead of having been shown and told all of it by frenI really hope you mean just DLC3 with its just and not the entire fucking game.>NietzschePretty sure he isn't even referenced in the game. No philosopher is, in fact, except for that one guy who wrote the Agartha book.>a lot of callbacks are vague or resurface like 800 hours later into the gameThat part is impressive, especially when compared to other vidya. Limbus Company does it too, but a lot of the times they get the details wrong (Canto 5) or a quote they use ends up feeling cheap/out of place (Canto 6). Meanwhile I have not seen a single error or a quote that feels out of place in BS1 or BS2, or a single line line that violates internal consistency (which is impressive, given how convoluted and self-referential the story is). Hell, after years of lorefaggotry by various people, the most serious charge put forth by the loremasters here is that one twist was not telegraphed "well enough".
>>3471900>No philosopher is, in fact, except for that one guy who wrote the Agartha book.Ah, nevermind. I forgot for a second that Lewis Carroll dabbled a little in philosophy.https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/What_the_Tortoise_Said_to_Achilles
Seeing all this discussion on the timeline has made me realize i'm still plenty disoriented on the story even after completing ending H some time agoDo yall recommend for me to replay both games to try to get a better grasp on the story?
>>3471021I like reading and black souls has a lot of literary references. Toro is clearly a westaboo or something because he takes the connection between the author and their works very seriously and with a lot of finesse. Some examples:>Obviously Charles Dodgson (Lewis Caroll) and his whole history with the Liddell family, speculation of pedophillia with the sisters, potentially pining for Prickett their governess. >Edith Liddell and Jack Leopold/Jack the ripper/sherlock references with their subsequent romance>Edith was also immortalized as saint Catherine in a cathedral stained glass piece>Lovecraft references>References to Milton>Florence's character design likely being based on one obscure note talking about her strong bite in real life>Anderson's nihilistic perspective on life seeping through occasionally>>3471900There are some connections like you mentioned>>3471905 with the authors and their philosophies in their work showing up in game. >the most serious charge put forth by the loremasters here is that one twist was not telegraphed "well enough"I still dont get what the controversy with this was. Anyone who paid attention to their characters and their boss souls made it exceedingly obvious. Even before DLC 2 was released it was widely accepted that who their real identities were. It was more of a confirmation than anything.
>>3471898This is how BS 3 is going to end.
>>3471910Don't feel too bad about it, most of the things discussed here were unearthed by autistic lorefags who had literal years to dig through both games multiple times over, while being challenged over their interpretation of events by other equally autistic lorefags. They have hundreds, if not thousands of screenshots and one even admitted to having a physical notebook.I don't think there's a real reason to replay the games, unless you're also bitten by the lorefaggotry bug. Just ask questions about the parts of the story you're unsure about and you'll likely get an answer. What I do recommend is going for an SL1 run, shit's fun as fuck and not as difficult as you might think.
FUCK>>3471900>I really hope you mean just DLC3 with its just and not the entire fucking game.I was shown and explained a lot but got most/all of DLC3 streamed iirc>No philosopher is, in fact, except for that one guy who wrote the Agartha book.I meant niche, I didn't literally mean Nietzsche!>LimbusMy toaster couldn't run that but I was hoping to be able to.But yeah, something so dense made and translated still has a large internal consistency.>>3471916>westabooI think it's a bit beyond that, if guys like Rawhide Kobayashi can equally claim a westaboo title. Even just from Carroll-related stuff alone, he clearly has a deep love and profound knowledge about his corpus as well as his life.>all that other shitI'll say that at least for Japan (and Korea), there's a lot of books for kids that give you this stuff that even westerners might not necessarily know. This is just going by my childhood and seeing what was in western schools and what people were or weren't aware of.>Aesop's fables are a clear given>biographies for Nightingale, Van Gogh, Amunsen, a series about the world's great and influential people>stuff like Heidi or A Dog of Flanders, which is way more common knowledge in JP/KR than in the west imo>just a lot of depressing-ass authors who wrote stories made for children (I'm looking at you Andersen)The Christian/Christian-adjacent stuff and Lovecraftian stuff though, not to mention ALL the invader/nightmare spirits being references to very very specific murderers and crazy people? Like, I can't even name that many mass killers predating the 20th century. Also surprised that stuff like Heidi or Lupin haven't come up yet.Toro certainly knows a lot and would be a fun and interesting person to talk to.Sorry this is a bit disorganized, I'm not ESL I'm just hungry
>>3471900>>3471916Also what specific twist are you guys talking aboutThe niggermen one?
>>3471930His knowledge on this stuff is beyond even westerners it feels like. Some of the connections he makes between the author's life and implements them into the game is quite clever. I swear some of the shit he pulls is straight from primary documents available on the most obscure archive sites.>>3471933Spoiler for DLC3 of BS2 if you havent played it. 3 Alices = 3 nightmares
Very interested to know what the translation for things like Alice even look like in Japanese. It's strange to me that EMMM got so attached to western canon literature when the nuance in most of those works probably can't translate to Japanese. The inverse is true of course, but it's still something I wonder about.
>>3471916>authors and their philosophiesThere's a difference between personal philosophies of the authors (think Dosto, Melville) and formal philosophy (think Kant, Hegel, Gödel). Lewis dabbled a little in the latter.>>3471940Jabberwocky has been translated into other European languages, so I imagine it's not completely impossible to translate it to Japanese. Just look at the different translations in whatever second language you know (German, French, Spanish, Italian) to see how it can be done.
>>3471937Definitely. Unless you're a literal lit major or professor, I don't think a layman would have deep knowledge of all of these topics or even these people. It feels like he probably spends at least a week straight-up researching these individual topics and people, but who the fuck wakes up and goes "I wonder if there's any famous nurses to learn about" (poor example since I assume educated/"parents bought them a lotta books" Japanese children are familiar with Nightingale, but you know what I mean.)I haven't seen or noticed what smelled like primary document quotes apart from stuff by Carroll himself, but I believe it.>spoilerI know about this and I have to pick a different one each playthrough instead of picking mommy Jabbers each time... but wait no, but you or the other anon said it was>exceedingly obvious. Even before DLC 2 was releasedso it was probably about a different twist, wasn't it?>>3471940I don't know how they would have done the puns or wordplay (probably subbed in an equivalent like people did for Jabberwocky?), the rest would have probably been accessible to children, although I'd guess he just straight up tried to read them in English, or read one with plenty of footnotes.>try to find an old Wonderland anime, as a potential source for how the Japanese did it>https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbWeDWSZu4eFJJD7IfT7L3R2UmuiRltCr>it's all on youtube>but English dubbedWe're just back where we fucking started!!>also pretty sure this is the one where it also does its own thing with stuff like Bill wanting a gf
>>3471951Comparing translation between languages with a common base like most western languages is much different than translating between English and any asian or slavic language. Besides English loan words, there is no commonality between the languages.
>>3471952There are direct quotes from Shakespeare and Robert Browning. Maybe more, but those two are the ones I'm aware of.>>3471954Here's 13 different translations into a slavic language.https://home.agh.edu.pl/~szymon/jabberwocky.shtml
>>3471952It was me that said that, but i think I meant to type DLC3. Regardless, most people knew about it since the base game.
>>3471954Also if fucking Finnegans Wake can be translated then Jabberwocky shouldn't pose a problem. It was translated into both slavic and asian languages:>Translation into Japanese was said to be impossible, but in 1969 a partial translation, including the opening part, was published under the title "Finnegan Tetsuyasai" in the February issue of Waseda Bungaku (Waseda Literature) in 71 issues, and was later published (translation by Yukio Suzuki and others, Finnegan Tetsuyasai - Part 1 -, Toshi Shuppansha, 1971). Also in 1970, a partial translation by Masayoshi Osawa and others was published in the July issue of the magazine Paideia, and later in the Shueisha edition of World Literature 1: Joyce, Italo Zvevo (1978).>Finnegans Wake, translated by Naoki Yanase, Kawade Shobo Shinsha, 2 volumes (I & II), 1991. III and IV, 1993. Each, new edition, June 2024.>Finnegans Wake, paperback edition, Kawade Bunko (3 volumes), 2004.>This is the full translation version, and the translator Yanase was a participant in the Waseda Bungaku (Waseda Literature) translation edition. The above edition respects the wordplay of Joyce's original text and replaces it with Japanese wordplay wherever possible. Yanase has described some of the difficulties he encountered and the techniques he used in the translation in his book Finnegan's Wake: A Book for Reading Finnegan's Wake, published by Waseda Bungaku.

New player here. A question about Catherine in BS1 What the hell caused her to commit suicide in the lower layer of the holy forest? I needed her for ending A.
>>3471993You're a sinner, aren't you anon?
>>3471816I don't understand. Why the hell would you disregard 4chan if you're playing Black Souls? Especially BS2, which has a LOT of degeneracy, thanks to Lewis Carroll. And most newcomers grab the game for free from f95 which is arguably more unwelcoming than here, being focused on pornography and all.
>>3471997Oh.....whoops.
>>3472000Catherine and Jeanne will commit suicide if your sin count gets too high. I think the threshold is 10, but I recommend setting it straight to 0 right after recruiting Miranda, just to be safe.
>>3472003Jeanne just doesn't kill herself, AFAIK. She just bids you farewell and then Distorts into a Demonbeast.
When doing DLC3, the Unicorn path is described as "Shorter and simpler, with little to gain" or something to that effect. Can someone explain the actual differences to me as a Lionfag? Just from what I've seen, it seems like Lion misses out on more content since you don't ever meet Sho.
>>3472003I see. Thanks for the help. Guess I'll do A and D in NG+ now
>>3472017Just make sure to do C before D. You should do the endings alphabetically in both games, come to think of it.
>>3471999i'm not disregardging 4chan i'm just mentioning other places that black souls is discussed, and well, while f95zone might be shady it definetly doesn't have the entirety of the internet screaming that it's full of toxicity, though i do think this is the best place to discuss black souls in the internet,or at least in western internet
>>3472029>i'm not disregardging 4chanI'm not talking about (you), anon. People in general, like you mentioned.
>>3471895My nigger brother.>unexplained memory lossJust for the same of the argument, I wouldn't necessarily call it unexplained. It's pretty clear that Leaf and TCO "cleared" his memory clean. >>3471816Been into BS since 2020, blazed through BS1 and finished BS2 as well as its DLCs, I will never forget the discussions back then in /v/ and all that Aliceposting and walls of spoilered text. I also noticed that there’s a sharp increase of BS being in the spotlight mainly due to a certain vtuber covering it, that and PMfags getting more intrusive than gacha communities like Blue Archive. I know BA can get some of those moments but holy shit, they know how to gatekeep, especially shitters that don’t care about the game and tries to spread tranny agenda crap. going as far as taking down a government wing and making a korean witch cult shit itself
>>3472182Blue Archive is the sole piece of media that prevents me from rooting for Kim.Its overlap with Black Souls fanart is quite amusing.
>>3472182>mainly due to a certain vtuber covering itThat turned out to be a nothingburger. Her streams were how many months ago? And the sharp increase is happening only now, for no apparent reason.

I like Miku and I like Black Souls, but I don't want any of that shit to intersect. Same deal with the PM and Blue Archive crossover stuff. Keep that contained to itself since if more people keep hopping to Blacksouls from that shit it's only gonna make the fanbase even cringier
>>3472196Ngl that guy really got a laugh out of me in that thread. It's crazy to think that he actually finished the game too.

Is Grimm aware of the cycles on later cycles (like when he reaches winterbell) ? I know his memory is meant to be wiped but it's hard to actually remember it does that cause well,it's not mentioned that much, plus you can have options to recognize both Miranda and Victoria wich show he has not forgotten,so i'm unsure if it's 100% headcanon on whether he remembers shit or not
>>3472238>Is Grimm aware of the cycles on later cycles (like when he reaches winterbell) ?Yes. Technically speaking, Grimm's always been aware of the cycles, his issues are just a mixture of memory tampering and memory fragmentation, even in BS1 he's aware of hitting endings before they get reset and in BS2 you have shit like the 0 SEN message in Oxward talking about what's probably a previous E ending.
>>3472216>we start speaking in niggermen speak>he starts typing gibberish because he wanted to fit inTo be fair I don't think it was actually him on that part. I doubt he even understood what we were doing with that level of tardinessRemember PICREL? Yeah, that's your culprit.
>>3472245Now this I do remember.
>>3472238I think that, like with the Hotel Poseidon event that some things are meant to be overwritten in Grimm's memory, but are so deeply ingrained into his soul that they remain, at least vaguely.

If the heroines in black souls 1 are "changed" rather than "created" then did mary sue just kidnap some random people from the real world and even other gardens, cause apparently dorothy was a mental ward patient, but then i wonder how did mary sue access wonderland to snatch dorothy? Aren't gardens mostly closed off to those that aren't invited?
>>3472238Honestly it's just "he can remember what's convenient for the moment". It's not like thats bad, it's easier for EMMM to manage.Up to dlc3 you still get "I'm going to Alice" dialogue options, so I'm guessing there is not much difference on his mental state during the start and the end of the game. I guess he could remember stuff if he wanted to, but choses not to since his mind is already on a deplorable state, and if he remembers too much then the poseidon hotel event happens

>>3472321>If the heroines in black souls 1 are "changed" rather than "created" then did mary sue just kidnap some random people from the real worldWith what we currently know about Red and Grimm? Yes.>and even other gardens, cause apparently dorothy was a mental ward patient, but then i wonder how did mary sue access wonderland to snatch dorothy? To me, Dorothy's log reads like she was taken from reality post-BS1. With her state in BS2, she probably ended up getting booked in reality as well if she suddenly disappeared like that, and the whole entering the world of fairy tales thing at the end matches her current situation. Honestly though, the entire situation surrounding the Mental Ward and the Nursing Graveyard is a bit of a fuckfest so it's hard to say for sure, and it's not helped by the fact that they're both some of the oldest locations in the series and that they're some of the most cryptic ones too.
>>3472354Not him but could you explain more what happened with Dorothy between BS1 and BS2, I miss her and want her back.
>>3472347>I think he claimed to have beaten the Old King but I genuinely cannot remember or believe thisHe posted his save time on the following thread so I think he actually did it legit. All the while blogposting a lot about his experiences. He said that ending F was his favorite lolAlso considering how much he grinded even before finding mabel's dungeon we can only imagine how much of that play time is him just mindlessly killing stuff to farm levels
>>3472357That's the thing, we don't have that much information. However, the short version with what we do know would be "not much" between BS1 and BS2. Dorothy's state in BS2 indicates that she died at the end of BS1's events, and that after dying her book wound up in Wonderland. Of course, in BS1 there is no timeline of events that Dorothy ends up surviving through, either with her personal ending, C, or D. If you put a gun to my head and told me to pick which ending BS2 Dorothy comes from specifically, I'd go with C, though you can also make a good argument for her personal ending since the disciple mentioned in her logs SHOULD be Grimm and she ends up really close to him in both routes. Anyways, after BS1 we know she gets drawn into her book and seems to be stuck there from then until we meet her in BS2. The rationale for her scene in BS2 seems to be based off one of her earliest lines from BS1 regarding how the books work, though I don't have the exact line in front of me at the moment since I'm on my phone right now. If it makes you feel any better though, it shouldn't be too difficult to revive her come BS3 (as long as we find her book), especially with Hatta's line at the end of DLC 3 if you need that extra hit of hopium.

That's also why in Bloodborne when people in the know are asked "are the events of the game real" they answer "It's doesn't really matter".So right, Dormhouse. So she sleep. Sleep is niggerman domain. She take the role of Alice/Prickett/TCO. Presumably TCO take direct control of her when she sleep, and if you fill up the rape dungeon murder everyone. As for why you start in her cell before DLC3 last boss? That's a very good question. I think it might be weird time travel shenanigans like maybe before the VN section.>>3472833As said by >>3472833Probably The King In Yellow or the Sheep God. The description of the items found in there kind of tell you what you need to know. Jerky/Hyde found a "cure" to a mysterious disease that he gave to Florence, that is implied to given to him by TKIY, that made people into Ghouls, immortal undead cannibal that some niggermen like TKIY would love to have as soldiers for.In fact you remember the whole map where you find ghouls/skeletons doing war? It's most likely training for the future.>Actually something i was wondering about is if great ones can have multiple gardensProbably not.
>>3472953Though it would make sense for great ones to only have one garden i remember reading a book in the chaos dungeon about mary sue creating multiple gardens "Mary Sue's ability to change was a power unique to her. Wielding it, she crafted and maintained many gardens,as vexing as it is i'm obliged to admit her genius as a creator"
>>3472959Imo, it's probably a case of creating it, destroying it, recreating it, redestroying it.Or maybe it's tiny Gardens within a big Garden, like Red's game.
Are there any guides out there that tell me the minimum of what I need in order to get BS1's ending C without locking myself out? I found one but it's so detailed that following it doesn't seem like funIf you wanna say "Don't spoil the game with a guide", then I already beat BS1 a few years ago but got the normal ending. So it's not like I'm ruining it for myself or anything.
>>3473018TXT file in the game folder. You can't really lock yourself out of ending C.
>>3473028You can if and only if you fail to resurrect Jeanne in time.
>>3473028Are you certain? Because on my first playthrough I'm pretty sure I somehow locked myself out of getting Elizabeth
>>3473018There's no "minimum requirement" for Ending C. You get it through an entirely different mechanism from the normal ending, same with ending B. Namely, you need to fill the library with every fairy tale. Look up the locations of the bosses if you need to, since some of them are obscure. Also, I'd recommend getting your favorite companions up to level 100 so you can get their endings (same way you get the normal ending) if you haven't already.
>>3473033>>3473034>I forgot about THE ROOM Ha-ha. Maybe you can.
>>3473028>You can't really lock yourself out of ending C.Yes you can. It happened to me because I told Hood to talk to Liz, the latter left amd never returned so I couldn't get her book.

>>3472750I get what you mean, I didn't pick up FGO but it feels like Jeanne is comfy in almost every continuity.Did she do anything wrong irl, because it doesn't seem like it
>>3473370No, she's the single purest girl to ever live (outside of Mary). The absolute worst thing you could blame her for was the massacre of Jargaeu, but that was 100% justified.
>>3473373Literally pure, what the fuck? I mean, I'm not surprised, but still.>massacre of JargaeuCould you explain to the folks at home what happened? Looks like she asked for surrender before attacking, which is like, more than generousI meant also the "what the fuck would she have been hearing" bit, but iirc she straight up goes "if I've said or done anything wrong against God without my knowledge then I repent", which- people who talk to niggermen wouldn't say thatAlso iirc they pretty much entrapped her to have her killed?
>>3473385She asked them to surrender and promised that every single one of them would die if they did not, so she had all of them killed when they refused to surrender and then died. Jeanne is a kind and loving girl, but she firmly believed that a quick war was better than a drawn out war.Her trial was a complete sham. Despite her perfect responses to every question (save maybe the shattering of her sword), the head inquisitor wanted to prosecute her in order to court favor with the English. As such, they eventually decided that she was cross dressing and ordered her to not do that again, only to steal her clothes and leave only male clothing. She was then burned as a witch. To offer a bit of levity, her mother eventually got the Church to do a retrial, and she was cleared of all charges. The people who tried her were excommunicated.Even then, she didn't deserve that fate. She didn't even express any regrets while on the stake. As for her Black Souls incarnation, I think Baphomet teases her about being some sort of witch? The description of her book in BS2 also refers to her as one. I wouldn't put it past Leaf to try to rewrite things so that she's remembered as one. It's simply not fair. I would kill every single niggerman to give her a happy ending. She more than deserves it. Please, EMMM, I just want to be with her in a peaceful field. Why did that have to happen to her? What a cruel, cruel, cruel, cruel, cruel, cruel
>Tfw I just beat end GFuck man, I feel really bad for the girls, but especially for Lorina and Bill. They're two characters that end up actually loving you with no strings attached but unbeknownst to them their hopes and dreams will never come to pass, Bill will never be a girl and Lorina will never be Grimm's main love interest, they're just cogs in the machine fated to stay the same and repeat their roles. Sometimes as tools for Grimm to relieve his stress, sometimes as his victims if he's feeling extra schizo that cycle.Their entire beings feel like they exist only to be around you but they'll never taste anything besides superficial love. End G overall felt very hopeful until I remembered those two. It's depressing as fuck to think about.

I agree, she doesn't deserve any of the pain inflicted on her. Literally just wife or protection material, she should be able to spend her carefree days relaxing in the countryside with her friends and husband should she choose one.Dark Souls 3 involved references and revisiting the past, so surely we'll get to see Jeanne and Dorothy and the others again (alive, and not just a sad trace of them) r-right?
>>3473399This copypasta is relevant.Reminder that Jeanne>Was extremely pious>Was extremely nationalistic>Was extremely pure>Was extremely beautiful>Had large breasts>Had toned legs>Had a slight tan>Had black hair that she cut short>Had a low, enthralling voice>Was really smart despite being illiterate>Was 5’2”>Loved cannon>Loved her country>Loved God>wanted to raise a family on the countryside after the war was over>Had top tier bants>Could maybe predict the future>Was the best!>>3473400Yeah, Jeanne's canonization is a lot more recent than people realize. It's rather rare for someone who isn't responsible for converting entire countries to get canonized, though. She's the single biggest "wife material" woman to ever exist. Just thinking about her sets my heart aflame, and she's the biggest reason why I even got into Black Souls. Ahhhh, Jeanne...
I don't mind the blonde hair, I greatly prefer blonde, but why do I see her with blonde hair so often?>>3473403I don't know the criteria for canonization, but if she was already a national Christian symbol for France, then it's probably permissible(?) or understandable to canonize. Since it's a different but still widely-influential thing like converting countries, you're effectively confirming what's already held in people's hearts. And you could say that her influence helps keep or protect people within their faith. Again, I don't know how canonization works, I'm not that denom, I just think it's very comfy she was canonized.>She's the single biggest "wife material" woman to ever exist. She's certainly virtuous, but did she have values and desires specifically about being a Christian wife, or is she more of a saint->wanted to raise a family on the countryside after the war was overOh.She JUST wanted a normal life, after serving God and country...There is a pain in my heart.
>>3473423>but why do I see her with blonde hair so oftenNTA but I have no clue, it's mostly an East Asian thing so I think it's just "white girls are blonde and blue-eyed"

>>3473423The ultimate irony of Jeanne is that, for all of her military victories and grand adventures, she's still a simple peasant girl at heart. She was always busy and rarely had time to relax, but she looked up to her mother and wanted to be like her. It's so cruelly ironic that this tragedy is what makes her such a compelling "character" in reality.>>3473425 The Japanese consider blonde hair as a signifier of both purity and foreigners, and Jeanne is a pure foreigner. >>3473390>>3473403To add>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--AoxM-hick&tFamous Italian historian talking about her. He explains how not a single inquisitor wanted to do that process to jeanne cause they suspected she was a living saint and no one wanted to risk taking a fake process to kill her, they all knew she was going to die and no one wanted to sully their hands with her.She also famously answered trick questions regarding dogma and high level concept without any problem, stuff that would require a trained and smart priest to actually answer, not the local normal priest. It's pretty crazy.
>>3473745It's crazy how her trials didn't cause an international incident.
>>3473745And to say more, she was 19 when she died (a virgin), she started her mission as a 15 old.She brought her brothers to fight with her and she wasn't really a poor low peasant girl, her father was pretty rich and well put in society, he was the mayor of the city very often. Also there were many other people like her before her that said where sent from God to save France. There was even a public request for all people that were chosen by God and had special powers to appear and help France. At the beginning her father and brothers thought that she was going with the army to be a whore, so thought of killing her to preserve their honour, but avoided doing so.>>3473750It was a church scandal, but they couldn't really do much, the war between two giant nations is a serious matter, they had to follow protocol and find ANY loophole to kill her.

>>3473908Didn't Mary Sue in the first game keep on saying she's god and all that? Do ya'll think she's literally taken the place of god in multiple religions or it's just her being cocky like always (When i first played bs1 i thought it was the former but after finishing bs2 i'm starting to doubt it)
>>3473925In BS2 there's a god (Milton I think?) that has clear Christian God imagery and parallels. So either early IP weirdness, weird translation, or maybe thinking she's the only "god" people on earth can pray to.
>>3473925That was inside of her own garden.Of course she would be the god in that setting.
>>3473936yeah,that's probably why i got the vibes of her calling herself literally god, didn't even know what gardens were haha
>>3473936But she complains about hearing prayers about people and how annoying it "would be" for "God".Hmmm, maybe it's really just the prayers of the people in her garden actually. It would be bothersome, and fucking disgusting from her since they worship Mary Sue because well you know.
>>3473908Not another demiurge plot, please...

>>3474125DLC3 references him a few times. I'm unable to provide screenshots since I had to reset my computer and lost all of my saves, but someone else should have them.
>>3474118Irl John Milton is the author of Paradise Lost.In game, he has a set with Flame and Fire Res, where he is described as Sheep God Milton. The implications are multiple and interesting and complex to say the least..>>3474127I forgot if it's really a few times, but outside Sackhead's room, you can sheeps at 0 SEN after beating FlorenceWhat does this mean? >>3474118Short version, he's someone briefly alluded to in the base game with an armor set you can find off a dead body just outside Red Castle Frissel (and with a bloodstain message praising the Queen (Lorina) right next to it), and critically important to the Nursing Graveyard and everything going on in there. Also seems deeply linked to Hastur, who was originally a God of Shepherds.

just finished all non-dlc 3 endings of 2, can someone correct me if I missed something about the lore?So Grimm is an amalgamation of different writers such as Grimm, Lewis Carol, Anderson, Aeosop(?), and so on. Lewis Carol was Alice Lindell's teacher at Oxford university and he was obsessed with the young lady. Her father realized that she was being groomed so he took Alice to a new school or something. Years passed and Lewis still loves Alice so he coped by writing fairy tales because those were Alice's favorites. He then got a letter from Alice inviting him to a Christmas party but when he saw that she was no longer the Alice that he fell in love with, he ran away and prayed to a god to let him be with the Alice that he knew. Then Leaf answered and took his soul and made a garden with him, the prayer master, and the first Alice where they just had tea parties(?). Then the prayer master got jealous of Grimm so he also prayed that the two be separated so Leaf killed Alice and the events of BS I happened. The Lost Empire which was another garden made by Leaf for Grimm which was just a self-insert fanfic. In ending D, we beat Leaf's mother and for some reason the original Alice showed up and the events of BS II takes place.
>>3474236Faggot
>>3474243Yeah you're pretty close to the mark. You'll only get a better grasp by doing DLC 3
>>3474250Only fags would like Node
>>3474252neat, just have a question thoughwhy did the crawling ones make the wonderland in BS II? According to ending G, it was so that they can all breed with Grimm but why? I think I have missed something though.
>>3474254Well it's because TCO had become infatuated with the role of Alice and thus was super obssessed with Grimm. It is also because Grimm is a super stud horse and can make so many niggerman babies. Enough that you could even make an army of then. So it's kinda thought that it originally was so TCO could amass an army of Grimm nigger babies, but then it just became more about how TCO went nuts over Grimm
>>3474243>So Grimm is an amalgamation of different writers such as Grimm, Lewis Carol, Anderson, Aeosop(?), and so onOnly the first three are directly confirmed, but yes.>Lewis Carol was Alice Lindell's teacher at Oxford university and he was obsessed with the young lady.Liddell, but yes that's basically it.>Her father realized that she was being groomed so he took Alice to a new school or something.Alice still regards Lewis as her first love, so either the grooming worked or it wasn't grooming at all. Either way, the two were split apart after the father found out.>Years passed and Lewis still loves Alice so he coped by writing fairy tales because those were Alice's favorites. He then got a letter from Alice inviting him to a Christmas party but when he saw that she was no longer the Alice that he fell in love with, he ran away and prayed to a god to let him be with the Alice that he knew.More or less.>Then Leaf answered and took his soul and made a garden with him, the prayer master, and the first Alice where they just had tea parties(?).The Tea Party wasn't Mary's creation at all, but rather TCO's. Mary came in at the end of the Tea Party to take Prayer Master, Lewis, and whatever else she could get her hands on before making BS1.>Then the prayer master got jealous of Grimm so he also prayed that the two be separated so Leaf killed Alice and the events of BS I happened. The Lost Empire which was another garden made by Leaf for Grimm which was just a self-insert fanfic.Yeah, pretty much.>In ending D, we beat Leaf's mother and for some reason the original Alice showed up and the events of BS II takes place. That's TCO in D, not IRL Alice if that's what you mean.
>>3474256Shit, thought I spoilered that image.
>>3474254>why did the crawling ones make the wonderland in BS II?Pretty much everything TCO does in BS2 (and arguably even before that) boils down to it trying to figure out what human love is.>According to ending G, it was so that they can all breed with Grimm but why?The breeding program wasn't strictly TCO's goal, but rather the carrot on the stick they used to get other niggermen to come along and join TCO's play, with the offer of using Grimm as a studhorse to build them an army. Eventually, most of the ones that joined got the memo as to TCO's true intentions and dipped, as per the Moon Beast Chalice in the Chaos Dungeon I believe.
>>3474243>Her father realized that she was being groomed so he took Alice to a new school or something. It's complicated. There is a hidden diary entry of Alice's father (the dean) in Oxward which says "their love harms no one" or something along those lines. It could've been societal pressure which forced him to separate them, or perhaps it was Alice's mother forcing his hand. Either way, what happened specifically is shrouded in mystery, both IRL and in the game. IRL it's speculated that the Liddels might've become estranged with Carroll due to Lorina falling in love with him, or perhaps due to Lewis trying to court Prickett, the governess. The relevant diary entries have been destroyed.>Then Leaf answered and took his soul and made a garden with himLeaf answered but she didn't necessarily take him from the get-go, perhaps she just marked him. What happened is that Alice Liddell also prayed to a god (TCO, see the mention of stars and a selfish god). It's Alice's prayer that caused TCO to organise the tea party where the whole deal with prayer master and first Alice (Prickett) happened. This kickstarts the events of BS1.The point of contention within the community is when Grimm was created. Some people think that TCO took Lewis directly, and only after Mary Sue stole Lewis was Grimm created. Some think that Mary took Lewis first, created Grimm, lost him somehow, then when prayer master/Prickett made a wish she took Grimm back from TCO's Garden. This version of events is much more convoluted, so it's more or less dismissed by most lorefags here, though it's not completely improbable - we'll just have to wait for future games to clear things up.>The Lost Empire which was another garden made by Leaf for Grimm which was just a self-insert fanfic.Yes. Hopefully you see the irony in Leaf's title being Mary Sue, she really is a poor writer and a hack.
>>3474276Don't diss my hormonal and self centered outer god anon
I was thinking about the response to the BS1 ending D question that the anon above had, but then I got confused myself. BS2 Mirror Dungeon (Old King) spoilers:Leaf's mother (Shub-Niggurath) opens the way to the Lost Empire in order to reunite with "darling" (aka Yog-Sothoth). But why does TCO appear instead? Was is because it was lurking just outside, looking for any sign of weakness in the Garden's defences? And I assume Yog let it all happen because it didn't want to trigger Azzy's awakening by clashing with TCO directly. Plus it didn't care all that much about Shub. Did I get it right, or did I make some critical mistake in my speculation?
>>3474243>for some reason the original Alice showed upAs the other anon said, that was TCO. After the original tea party, in which its fragment (Prickett) participated in the guise of Alice it learned what love is, which drove it mad. This is why TCO appears in ending D, after losing Lewis it wants to regain him and reinstate the tea party in order to keep experiencing love. Though that's just the "why", I'm a bit unsure when it comes to the "how", the mechanics which allowed TCO entry into the Garden, see my post above. It's just my pedantism though, as with any fictional story the character motivations and thematic relevance are always more important than plotfaggottry and power level discussions.
another questionDo i need to read alice in wonderland to understand more about the game? I've never acquainted myself with any if its media and only know some vague details about it.
>>3474309I'd say yes. BS2 references Alice in Wonderland heavily, both in its characters/locations and to some extent the plot as well. Lewis Carroll's biography isn't referenced as often or as heavily, but it's more plot relevant than the books themselves. It's also a very fun read in and of itself, so I'd recommend reading it even outside of the context of the games. I always recommend the Norton Critical Edition, since it contains both books, Hunting of the Snark (also referenced in the game) and a condensed version of Carroll's biography. I prefer buying physical, but if you want to pirate it you can do so here https://annas-archive.org/md5/803a4cc2631ca4913253099e7b42e717

Toss in some shit about how the website's accessible to all ages and how worried you are about some curious kids looking up the game or some bullshit like that. Public websites like that tend to worry about covering their asses and their image above most other matters. Shouldn't be too hard to cry about the children and the public good and find some power tripping admin or mod that feels like they're doing a good deed by wiping the page off the face of the Earth. Of course, that's all only if you are actually worried about the page gaining traction for some bullshit reason and want to preempt it.
