I've been trying out Daggerfall plenty of times by now, creating a new character each time for the sake of builds, but I don't get the appeal.Outside of the repetitive randomly generated quests and the dungeon crawling that gets old quickly, is there anything else I could do in game outside of getting lost in the big cities and following the main quest?
>>3533921>asking other people for advice on how to enjoy a gameHas this ever helped you guys?
>>3533935I got genuine helpful advice on this board once which actually improved my enjoyment of the game.
>>3533941I would be curious to hear more. What game, and what advice was it?
>>3533943Some old slavjank, how to fiddle with the settings to make it run at tolerable fps.
>>3533946That's a bit different, more like tech support.
>>3533921I just travel town to town, province to province, doing quests for tavern keepers and prostitutes (rare quests for a non finished faction) and clearing out tombs and dungeons. Occasions I get a map and than camp that region for awhile as I use the dungeon to level and get stronger and get more equipment. It's a very rough game and unity helps a ton with mods to fix a bunch of things but if you need constant quests and objections you might have a harder time with daggerfall since you can just do whatever with no direction required. I personally enjoy just being a free travel nomad who trains to get stronger while doing quests for various people. I hope you find a sweet spot for the game anon. if not try the unity version and get some mods that sounds fun.
>>3533953I guess so, but that's the best I got.
>>3533954I've only tried the Unity version though
>>3533984Well that makes getting mods for it and customizing it that much easier than. good
>>3533921>Outside of the repetitive randomly generated quests and the dungeon crawling that gets old quickly, is there anything else I could do in game outside of getting lost in the big cities and following the main quest? No, it's a game made by and for complete jackasses.
>>3533984>I've only tried the Unity version thoughAlmost anyone who is still playing or talking about Daggerfall has only tried the Unity port.
Kill yourself Gabe
>>3534052NTASeems like it, but I probably wouldn't have touched it if it weren't for the bug in the original game which prevented me from completing the main quest.
What are some Daggerfall mods that significantly improve the main game btw?
>>3535068There unironically are none
