Playing DT2, learned yesterday that you cannot stack Delibitating Salsa.Does anyone have advice for dealing with Echidna, outside of crowning?
bro this is pathetic
>>3655508Welcome to buying games that aren't on Steam/GOGThe game's old enough anyway so the only sensible option is to pirate it>>3655559I always assumed that applying the same type of buff/debuff simply refreshed the duration, no way this kinda game lets you stack stats like that (Magical Princess my beloved)
>>3655599Looks like all dances can't be stacked, but my idea was to stack Salsa since its guaranteed damage. 3800 DEF is a bitch to cut through, even with a Witch + MP
Are we playing Tokyo Clanpool?
>>3655426It's alright
>>3655559>Does anyone have advice for dealing with Echidna, outside of crowning?Been a year since I've done DT2 so it might not work as much as I remember.Enchantress -> Magical Princess should have Fire Enchant for your Joker for maximum damage. Alternatively, Enchantress -> Sage is also a good option for Dispel in exchange for a chance based dispel and less DPS.Joker should go for Danger Shoot instead of Mad Zapper. Enchant her with Fire Enchant for increased damage then use Berserk from Therian Seal + Trump Card. Go get Slaughtering Daeva for her if you still don't have it.Etoile should go Samba + Hopak when you can hit the boss, Waltz if the boss goes RES100. Use Salsa only if you want to go defensive like when the boss is in RES100.

I can't figure out how to make Kaguya work in MS2. Maybe I should just replace her. I thought going Speed Gunner into Sniper and focusing on normal attacks (for random encounters at least) with turnaround might be good, but evidently it's not.
Does Pokemon Mystery dungeon count as a real dungeon crawler and if not what's missing that could improve it?
>>3657210Different genre, it's a traditional roguelike, not a DRPG/blobber. No fault on you getting confused, these are both the worse genre names around. It's not that it isn't a "real dungeon crawler" (obviously casualized for the Pokemon audience but still follows the footsteps of Rogue, Nethack, and the other Mystery Dungeon titles), it just that it plays nothing like stuff like Wizardry, Etrian Odyssey, Labyrinth of Refrain, etc.
I played galleria and I didn't like the endgame much where it felt like grinding was necessary and big number > strategyI'm looking for a blobber with a lot of classes and abilities that feel like you're rewarded for commiting to exotic combinations, and if possible none of that prestige bullshit N1 loves to shoehorn in their gamesis dungeon travelers 2 better in that regard or what game would you recommend me ?

>>3657648Subclasses for my last EOIV playthrough were as follows:Landsknecht > BushiFortress > DancerDancer > NightseekerSniper > ArcanistRunemaster > MedicI'll spare you the details but you'll want to prioritize subclasses with skills/passives that make the main class stronger (see landshark, sniper) or provide extra utility and allows you to fulfill more roles (see Fortress, Runemaster).

>>3659748I'm really enjoying the game but spamming team attacks or whatever feels lame and not wizardry.
>>3657684What about EO3's subclasses? I've got>Hoplite>Gladiator/>Arbalest>Monk>Zodiacand the team worked pretty well up until 3rd stratum, but I don't know where to go from here. I'm thinking about making either Hoplite or Zodiac a Ninja to either line guard or dark zodiac both rows, and making the Arbalest take Gladiator for extra damage seems like an obvious pick, but that's about it.
>>3659921>Don't have access to Therian SealGo get it now, you need to complete a set of events from Souffle to get them, ending at the Abyssal Darkness. A free Berserk for anyone is one of the broken stuffs in DT2. Its even better than High Risk High Reward.Gamefaqs should have a guide for this.>Somehow Joker Danger Shoot is still only hitting 3 damage, with Slaughtering Daeva. I'm at a loss, does Fire Enchanted attacks still count as Physical Damage? It should be still Physical Damage. Are you at max level already? I assume so since you got Slaughtering Daeva already. You need to push as many ATK to your Joker as possible, and your Etoile needs to work hard reducing the god's defense and resistance to maximize the damage. If you still can't defeat the Ice Cave god boss and want to, going for a defensive slugfest with Salsa is an option too but expect the battle to last long, you might as well bring 2 Etoiles with you just to speed it up for a bit.As for the pic, subtract 50 points to its whole stat to see how much her stat is uncrowned, and a high grade customized armor is always a good alternative.
>>3660256I appreciate the advice. I'm pleased to say that swapping my Joker for a Witch worked out, and Echidna is dead.
>>3660289I forgot that Witch is also an option since she got non-elemental spells that can bypass the boss' RES100. Its just that Witch in post game falls really hard that theres no reason to use them at all. Irina was built to be one but the moment you get her, she falls off hard unless you made her into a Magical Princess or let her stay as a Sage.Gear Castle god boss will definitely push your shit the hardest, and make sure you got that Therian Seal and Leaf before fighting her there. Go make a Mistress before fighting her since you need one.
Are there no good maps for DT2 and 2-2 other than that jp wiki?
Please help I'm trying to find the name of a turn based (? It looks like it was one I only saw 1 picture like a month ago) JRPG where the aesthetic of the battle UI was brown/wood grain texture. I think there were 3 or 4 anime girl party members, an HP and MP bar. Artstyle was super cutesy anime waifu style, I believe the battle layout were all artwork sprites instead of models. Pls help me figure out the game it's been stuck in my head for a month now. It might be a non DRPG I can't remember

>>3661691not a drpg eceleb dicklicker
Mary skelter 2 is dirt cheap on switch. Any good?
>>3662293Possibly the worst DRPG I've played, and I've played a lot of garbage. The gameplay feels like a very, very, very cheap knock off of DT, except with basically zero depth and zero enjoyment. The story is whatever, but the endless drivel back and forth between the girls and the side characters is extremely drawn out, they talk for hours and say nothing. And I say that as an enjoyer of slice of life and cute girls doing cute things genres. What a waste of a genuinely interesting setting.
>>3662301Damn, that's kinda sucky to hear. Been in the mood for a crawler but I've played most everything on switch
>>3662293way too formulaic. the gimmicks or setting may or may not carry the otherwise bland game but that depends on your preferences.

>>3662483>it bad because it suck, trust me brolol
>>3662486I do believe I've laid out fairly clearly what my gripes with it were. If you like the game so much, why don't you talk about what exactly you like about it? Unless, of course, you're just trying to stir shit up, which is starting to seem increasingly likely.
>>3662385every dungeon has same enemy types that just change models, theres the small guy, the tall guy and the big guy and even within the same dungeon theres recolors of these. every dungeon has a shortcut staircase that goes from bottom to the very top. like, you do maybe 2 dungeons in ms2 and you'll see the blueprint thats recycled for all content. sure there's gimmicks to make it seem like theres variety but there really isnt.
>>3661999It's not about balance for me it's just the feel of wizardry being a bit off. I should give it another shot though I'm only on floor 2 or 3.
>>3658819so there's no dungeon crawler with a solid story?
>>3662773The Labyrinth of Refrain/Galleria games have pretty involved stories, they're basically like half VNs, half DRPGs.
>>3662773Most SMTs have solid stories at least, even the older ones. In my onion, I'd vote for Strange Journey or IV having the best story, if you haven't already played them.
>>3662773A dungeon crawler with a good story is like porn with a good story. The actual quality is irrelevant, first and foremost you need to be a special kind of autismo to appreciate it in the first place, otherwise you will just consoom what you came for and leave.

>>3664810It just feels tedious somehow. The classes are all nerfed, the dungeon progression is linear, the experience gain is REALLY slow, you don't really find any interesting treasure, encounters and exploration feels tedious, and the story has no charm to it. There's some theoretical endgame stuff that sounds compelling but having to slog through the very unfun early game to get there just doesn't feel like it's worth it.

Dungeon Travelers 2 question: JP wiki says there's a shortcut to Behemoth in Dawa Shrine and all it requires is a Sniper to open the class door, then going through the 2nd floor. But I've been all over the first 5 floors on the "downward" halves, and there's not a goddamn shortcut I can find.Been a hot minute since I've been in Dawa so all my memory of the layouts is gone. Am I doing this wrong?
>>3665194The Sniper door and one-way door on 2F were opened, to be specific.

Its easier if you got a full map though. What I know is the no Class restriction path starts at the top floor going back down to 6th floor.

Quick query about DT2Is the level reset always at lv 30 max or does it ever increase to letting you reset at higher levelWith Maid classes, how good would Ist be with Diva or Etoile? I was wondering to replace her as my main maid user since she had the general boosts, but the other maid that you get earlier in the gsme (I forget her name), does she ever shine with the other two classes if I ever decide to respec for fun
>>3665729Level Reset ranges are 1, 15, 30, 50, and 90. When it comes to Maids, both Diva and Etoile are good, but Etoile is definitely better as you get further in game. Mazurka and Waltz are honestly incredible, as well as the charm passive.IMO Yuni is the best Maid character, but Ist is good, I've used her for my postgame Etoile.

>>3665869>UndernautsI really enjoyed that, but like the other anon said Experience kinda makes samey games. I like the format though so I don't mind. Really like the theme of dungeon crawling being a megacorpo wageslave job, and the presentation is pretty good. Classes having specialized and alt advancements is cool but there's not a huge variety in how you can build a party. Modding in portraits is complicated but possible.>Stranger of Sword CityGrindy and a bit silly, but I had fun. Class system is a bit odd in that if you start multiclassing your characters are eventually going to turn very homogenized number printers that hit every target in every row and/or cast every spell. Story makes you pick a side by accident because you weren't paying attention to it and only looked at the upgrades that were tied to a faction.I like Experience's wizardry-esque with a small twist format as long as I get to make a fully customized party and get to bring my own portraits. My standards are not high.
>>3665770>I read hentai for the plot, that isn't a joke.People meme but I feel like a solid plot is something that makes it as memorable as the sex bits. Honestly I feel like that's half the problem with so much hentai these days. You just move from poorly shot sex scene to sex scene and there's no set up or framing or character. It basically just amounts to vacuous dolls in cosplay outfits thematic to whatever genre you're pretending to explore.
I want something like DT but with less confusing maps. Cute girls? Cool. Branching job system? Cool.

>>3666299i still have no idea why the fuck do people still parrot this when every single game they make is different in some way with the only ones being similar being literal sequelsat this point i just have to assume westoids play jack shit and just pretend they do
>>3666302Some of the uniting elements of Experience games:>random loot system for getting equipment (I have never played a single game of any genre where this was fun)>bad map design that feels randomly generated>floating item collecting locations that feel thoughtless/random>floating enemy encounter spots that just show you where you're going to have to fight somethingIn Undernauts the presentation they put on top of that was enough to carry it for me. Less so for their other games.I liked Death Mark. They should make more weird games. They're not very good at Wizardry-likes. The Dark Spire is better than anything they've ever made.
Is it worth beating the superboss of Etrian Odyssey 1? I've done absolutely everything else. I know about the strategy of counting his turns and blocking his damage with a protector and everything. It just seems very rng as you have to hope he doesn't use one of the moves that just kills/entangles your whole team. Anyway I don't really care at this point beyond the embarrassment of quitting a game when I'm right before the final boss, but I want to move on to another rpg.
Also my party is protector/landsknecht/medic/survivalist/troubadour and i have pretty much optimal builds for them
>>3666331yeahthe superboss has a set pattern and most of the fight is figuring it out
>>3666335I know his pattern. The problems are:- From 75% to 50% hp he can bind every part of my whole team which means I basically just die in the next few turns.- From 25% to 0% hp he can simply insta kill every party member- You can disrupt his pattern by using too many buffs which forces him to purge your buffs, but the turn after doing so he picks a random move that probably kills you- To beat him you basically have to hope he does not use these moves
>>3666348>- From 75% to 50% hp he can bind every part of my whole team which means I basically just die in the next few turns.I don't remember this being much of an issue. I think I used accessories to nullify the more troublesome binds on key members.>- You can disrupt his pattern by using too many buffs which forces him to purge your buffs, but the turn after doing so he picks a random move that probably kills youYou don't want to bring a troubadour to this fight. You don't want to trigger Resolve at all
>>3666331>worth beatingThat’s for you and only you to decide. But, like you, I didn’t want to give up with just one boss left. For reference here’s my strategy:Protector, Medic / Survivalist, TroubadourTeam of 4 so I can set up 2 party wide buffs without triggering the randomizer (plus one elemental buff on the troubadour so she can get some damage in when she has nothing else to do.) Protector alternates between Smite and Front Guard on free turns. Medic sets up boosted Immunize on free turns, timed so that it never runs out, and heals or attacks with Caduceus on free turns. Survivalist attacks. Troubadour sets up attack buff on 1st turn, then elemental buff on herself, after that either uses items (boost recovery for Medic, TP recovery, or HP recovery when Medic’s heals can’t keep up) or attacks. I also gave the Protector an anti-bind accessory. I was able to beat him in about 25 turns with no deaths.
>>3666331>>3666359Wait, I think I’m misremembering and I actually had party-wide HP regen on the Troubadour instead of the attack buff.

I need help, finding a game like Mary Skelter.I state straight away: I do know there are better Dungeon Crawlers gameplaywise. I had a ton of complaints over MS' long as fuck sparse unrewarding dungeons. I think I would have had less issues if they either did more plot progression in tandem or put reasonably items in the treasure chests. I don't think I have issues with the combat 2 onwards (Finale fracturing the party was a pain at times, but it made me explore more varied strategies and adapt the party accordingly). I feel the difficulty on Hard was done right, the early game in particular makes you feel how crucial planning items and rationing the Mana pool with them is.But there is something with the worldbuilding that simply isn't replicated. It isn't just fairy tale characters, it's also this prison and how it's used to make people band together. It made me feel the danger out there, with even walls being monsters and the environment itself trying to kill us. It made me value the cast more, Alice, Red Hood and Cinderella in particular, because of how this affected them and it was dependency on the team that made them stand together. And I think it's a game like this I seek. Black Souls 1 actually replicated this somewhat as an accursed land of fairy tales you build up a dependable party over time. And I think this is what I seek. Not necessarily fairy tales, not necessarily prison (if you have prison-themed games regardless I'm interested) and not even necessarily a dungeon crawler. If you guys have anything close to what I'm trying to say, even if one or two of those components is missing I want to try out.
>>3667473>But there is something with the worldbuilding that simply isn't replicated. It isn't just fairy tale characters, it's also this prison and how it's used to make people band together. >>3667381I didn't have many problems with the pc port but I played with japanese text. I read that playing the game in english is very buggy or something. the game still crashed a lot in umbra towers but that was due to some memory leak issue that I managed to fix by simply selling a shitload of equipment that I wasnt using. I think having your inventory bloat too big will start crashing your game and the issue becomes more apparent when combined with umbra towers inherent memory leak issue.

The fun epigenetic explanation might be that at some point in prehistory a man or group of heroes literally had to go underground to rescue a woman or women kidnapped by some competing nocturnal race of early humans. But "journeying to the underworld to rescue someone" does show up a lot in worldwide mythology, and even Christianity in the Harrowing of Hell. There's a lot of things that don't add up in comparative mythology and raise a lot of major questions for me about the world we live in. Why did so many cultures, completely separated for thousands of years, all believe in races of "Little People" who lived underground, had supernatural powers, and could spirit children away? What was so enduring about this kind of mythos that it stuck around for millennia?

Does anyone know any hard numbers for the DT2 drop rate increases with the DLC item?I've killed dozens of Morrighans trying to find that fucking Brinhildyr Plume. My setup is:>TH with maxed Treasure Hunt>Great Luck Fortune on another characterNone of the guides I've found show specific enemy item drop rates either.

>>3673079Oh that's right, I forgot it's playable on PC in English.I'm waiting for a Vita translation honestly, the portability of a homebrew Vita made DT2 significantly more enjoyable.
>spend 5 days on BF8 for a shitty reward!God Etrian Odyssey 1 is such a fucking slogI kind of appreciated the low number of shortcuts at first, but going back through the floors for random quests (that all have dogshit rewards besides maybe the ones that ask you to fight special bosses) and having to re-navigate floors are a fucking hassle It isn't even hard at this point, it's just a resource drain and getting stopped for random battles all the time even if you stock up on the warding chimes is just tedious as shitDo later games suffer from this? Or is it just 1 and its growing pains?
>>3673845>God Etrian Odyssey 1 is such a fucking slogthats all EOs, just for different reasons
>>3673845Just don’t do the quests? The only ones that actually matter are post-game ones anyway.
>>3673845But to answer your question, yes, quests in EO1 suck, but in 2 a lot of them nicely flesh out the setting and characters, and in 3 they made quests give XP so at least you’re getting more than shitty items.
>>3673875the problem is basically every single jrpg has that one sidequest line that gives you the keys to the good ending or at least making it less of a fucking pain in the ass, and sometimes they are missablejust on drpgs alone galleria does this shit (though it isn't missable iirc) and it's fairly recentit wouldn't surprise me people do sidequests automatically due to this bullshit
>>3673159Well, someone tried to do that but apparently, there are more work to do than a simple script transfer from PC to Vita.Don't hope too much on that case then.
Tower of Mask was released a couple of days ago.I really like it. The horror elements work because fighting the scary enemies is often difficult and the mask weakpoint system is pretty fucking cool. I organically figured out the weakpoints but not the tackles until I reached floor 2 and it all feels very natural despite the game being pretty slow. It's very concerned with resource management. Shields and weapons degrade and break, healing is limited only to potions, saving only to specific statues instead of quicksaving. So far the only "real level" I've played, floor 2, seems to loop back onto itself in clever ways.Inventory is also a concern because you slowly accumulate spaces in increments of 2 as you explore and get pouches.Secret hunting is lesser than Grimrock, as in you won't have to stare at walls since all the secret buttons are extremely obvious(think normal buttons) but that one secret with the smiling statue on floor 1 I just bumbled into, I don't think it was signposted anywhere and I was just trying shit. Also, the survival horror tagline made a lot of sense once I discovered one secret weapon.

>>3674166Playing this some more, it's really fun but it has a bit of an issue for secret hunters. Fake/secret walls are obvious on the map.

>>3674473the extra area bosses are meant to be walls, but F11 boss should be totally doable, party?
>>3674470quick amendment, I was mistaken. That wall was marked because it was a shortcut you unlock later in the level.
>>3674475>Tamaki DL/SA Lv 37.>Ikuno AS/KN Lv 37.>Harumi my beloved PL/VL Lv 37.>Konomi SO/WT Lv37.>Charu PR/BS Lv37.Tried to swap out Ikuno to grind Yuki but grinding is a slog in this game, so I decided against it.
>>3674481welp I would give ikuno the boot for now, scouts didn't do me any good in mid game especially since I never had good weapons until deep in endgameBut you seriously have no maid leveled? Bards can buff up witches nicely but dancers are the easy mode, your party has already enough defensive strength and with an ATK debuff the enemy shouldn't stand a chance(a class that pulls its weight but is 20 levels below everyone else is more valuable than deightweight)
>>3674484The Dusk/Galleria brainrot is real, I made both Tamaki and Harumi into monstrous autoattack bots with the backrow mostly just healing and some damage, though daedaleus on Harumi is a good panic button.Ikuno is also there largely for being a crit bot to interrupt chants and to be the item slave, which yes I'm aware is a role a maid could have done but I didn't like any of the maid girls and Yuki is the one I disliked the least.
>>3674486perhaps with some creativity it's possible to make a team around standard attacks, but I could never make it work past like 7F in 1(I haven't played 2-2 that far but apparently Luco has a busted autoattack build)This game is no doubt biased to special skills, especially since TP healing is plentiful, my bread and butter for any combat was berserk > whatever area attacks dispatch the enemy, or in some cases single attacks on specific asshole enemies.Anyway here's a tip, take Silfa with Sango into the tower later on, after you revive her in battle you get an event that raises Silfa's agility PERMANENTLY which is an absolute godsend, no need for flat chest parties

wheres the megalink for EOHD collection
>>3674656Unless you're interested on seeing the featured broken strats of the game or what plot it has, maybe not. Some actually like the lack of Blacksmithing there as you rely on drops instead of minmaxing your AGI and Speed through blacksmithing.Personally, DT1 being a spinoff of a VN can be a turn off too since I didn't played the original source and also that theres no way to speed up the Crown grinding there and I liked getting all awards in DT2 and 2-2 so thats another reason for me.
>>3674911I'm an old, old man and suffer from a severe lack of Dungeon Crawlers I haven't already played so the lack of QoL is probably not a big issue.>>3675044From both you and previous anon it sounds like it is mostly QoL that it is missing and that the crawling is still acceptable so I'll probably give it a go at some point because older DRPGs I missed are pretty much the only option lately.
How's Class of Heroes?
>decide to try dungeon travelers 2 from reading it here>get blindsided by almost total ass ten minutes in>expect the MC to either go full perv or turn into a stammering mess>instead it goes completely unmentioned, come and gone with zero attention...huh. Interesting. An anime MC that doesn't turn into a drooling retard and supporters that don't shit themselves if their skirt slips? Can go up there with the cast of Kamidori on the 'Not A Neanderthal' shelf.Should I use DLC characters, or go without for the 'intended' experience?
>>3675183A literal asset flip, and plagiarized to boot. I lost all desire I might have had to play it because of that.
>>3675199>Should I use DLC characters, or go without for the 'intended' experience?I wouldn't recommend it. They don't have story events and their abilities really aren't that useful. The DLC characters are basically stat blocks.Don't care much for their costumes either compared to the main cast. And yeah, Fried's a good man
>>3674656It was my favorite of the trilogy. The sequels made some under the hood changes that soured my postgame playthrough so I dropped both after 50 hours, while 1 I played start to finish with glee.
Playing through Etrian Odyssey HD and trying to wrap up some quests before going further into the labyrinth but am stuck on “Prayer to the Stars”. Everywhere I looked said they drop from Canon Palms on floor ten but I don’t know where the fuck they spawn. >>3655312>Is there any way to mod Proving Grounds to make it similar to the PS2 Wizardry games yet?Never played the PS2 games but maybe the Super Nintendo collection of 1-3?
>>3675199>An anime MC that doesn't turn into a drooling retard and supporters that don't shit themselves if their skirt slips? It's almost like that's largely an anime-only phenomenon or something due to massively exaggerating the character's reactions, and the only times it bleeds to the source material is from authors that are just as anime-only ignorants as you are, which tends to be extremely telling due to their poor depth in writing.

>>3675480CoH1 is infamous for being a reskin of a PS2 Wizardry game (Wizardry XTH 2). They were “made” by different development staff and the company that made XTH 2 was already bankrupt at the time. CoH basically stole the source code.
>>3675484I mean the company sure as hell isn't going to be using those assets. What should they do pay the bank for the rights to make a knockoff Wizardry? The true tragedy was the loss of the equipment display system.
>>3675484>company essentially makes an unofficial remake of an obscure Japanese PS2 game that was never localized and doesn't have a translation patch>western publisher decides to localize the unofficial remake, whereas fan translators haven't touched the originalAnd why am I supposed to be mad exactly?
>>3675513I don’t think anyone said anything about being mad. But as for me, considering that it’s a low effort reskin that reportedly changes a bunch of things for the worse and adds bugs that weren’t in the original, and considering also that I could just play the original game if I wanted, it’s hard to justify playing it. Coupled with CoH2 also being a notorious kusoge in its own right, I’m very skeptical about spending any time or money on this series. But again that’s just me.
>>3675199Fried is a good man. Guy is pretty focused on wanting to research monster girls. A problem for Melvy if she wants to win the Friedbowl.Character interaction is one of the good things in DT2 but finding all of the events can be hard to get since the requirements can be pretty obtuse at times.>Should I use DLC characters, or go without for the 'intended' experience? The latter. DLC characters are basically from DT1 except from that one Spieler. DLC characters doesn't have events you can unlock so its mostly a waste of time.
>>3675418So is 3 any better than 1 and 2? I might be willing to give it a chance if it makes some substantial improvements.
>>3676250>Massive QoL changes/fixes.>Most of the gamebreaking bugs fixed, most, and the few that remain can be fixed by just saving often.>Way better balance. There's no real reason to play 1-2 if you play 3, for better or for worse. It's still not a great game mind you, but still a massive improvement.

Damn, DT2 ain't fuckin around anymore. The first couple dungeons were calm and easy, the forest was tough with how huge it was but manageable, but now the temple is throwing full groups of mooks that all have 1-hit-kill magic that isn't getting interrupted even with 80-100 damage. Either I'm doing something wrong or the training wheels have come off in favor of stuffing them into a sock and beating me with them.
>>3677521that's like the normal old-school DRPG experienceyou are definitively doing something "wrong" because it's hypothetically possible to beat everything without grinding (as long as you consider full-mapping as you go and not running from encounters not grinding) with a specific strat party and key setups for turn ordermore likely, and what most people likely do, you are expected to chill and pull back a little, grind some equips, then go back in after a few levels
>>3677527>as long as you consider full-mapping as you go and not running from encounters not grindingi.e. if you’re not a retard. This isn’t grinding by any definition of the word

>>3677550>>3677563It's a weird idea that doesn't make much sense, but people conflate Farming with Grinding as well. I realised a while ago that nobody knows what terms like these mean anymore, which makes it especially annoying because you can no longer tell whether a person thinks the game is grindy because they suck at the game or because it actually does require a lot of grinding exp or farming drops. User Reviews are always praised as the gold standard, but I can't see them as being reliable at all when the vast majority of players barely even attempt to understand the mechanics in the first place and hardly play many games at all to have the context for them even if they did. You see a similar sort of thing with mods for games, where often a change that drastically alters the entire game's balance and goes against the core design philosophy is treated as a harmless QoL change by the majority of players. Not that I am immune to this because I'm so smart and better than others, I used to unfairly criticize games all the time and probably still do occasionally without me noticing.

Moving into a stunned enemy(after hitting their weakpoint) initiates a tackle which deals extra damage(without impacting weapon durability) and swaps positions. It unfortunately really showcases some of the jank with collision in the game since I assume there's some anti spam mechanic preventing you from just tackling them back and forth, which can lead to enemies immediately exiting out of the stun phase and stepping back, but there will exist a space in front of you that you will not be able to move into until the enemy steps back into that space.
>>3686672Kek. Maybe it makes the enemies crap their pants and run away
>>3654824Are there any of these that are Western/Cowboy themed??Could be anime-y or not I don’t really care about that
When the fuck is Tokyo Clanpool getting uncensored. It IS going to get an uncensor patch, RIGHT?
>>3654824Want to start first Legend of Grimrock, any advise/tips?
>>3691203Diversify your team, and import custom images.
>>3691203just bee urself
>>3689085Lol. After EAS turning out to be a scam that throws their fans under the bus, your best bet is a english patched vita version. Vita3k is getting huge improvments really fast and many games are already playable.
>>3691965Even those worthless, lying and incompetent fucks at Ghostlight listened to people and made available a way of uncensoring Mary Skelter 2.When even fucking GHOSTLIGHT is better, you know shit's real bad.
I'm working on one. Still a long way to go, but hoping to finish a large demo in the next few months or so.
>>3692051Here's a shop.
>>3692051>>3692054And another one you'll find in dungeons.
>>3692051>>3692054>>3692055
>>3692051>>3692054>>3692055>>3692056
>>3692051>>3692054>>3692055>>3692056>>3692060The art style for the characters is really good, very unique. Kinda has a Homies figures caricature feeling.
>shilling on /vrpg/ Rough buddy
>>3692051Based. Link when demo is up
Not even going to give it a pity pirate.
>>3692128Thanks. My brother does all the art, he'll appreciate hearing that. >>3692172Will do.
>>3692051>>3692054>>3692055>>3692060I mean. I bet someone will like it. But the artstyle is not good. Not only that, all you have are weird looking dwarfs and humans. Where are the cute girls? The token loli mage?
>>3692371>Where are the cute girls? The token loli mage? That's played out man, dwarves are the future.
>>3692371>>3692377
>>3692371This was incredibly embarrassing to read
>>3692377>>3692413>>3692445>simping for a trash garbage homofaggoticus maximus DRPG whose developer has to desperately shill on fucking vrpgFucking shameful.
>>3692447MedsIf he's not making a whole thread for it, I don't have a problem with it
>>3686695Okay, after a couple more hours, I'm starting to sour on Vaporum.Encounter design is very bad. You're nearly always locked inside a small arena with multiple enemies. The enemies are also extremely tanky and you're not actually getting stronger over time, as enemies you fought in previous floors get stronger. And there's the exploration. Very few secrets and the game tends to block access to previous floors for no apparent reason.I'm really not having fun anymore.
>>3692526play tower of mask instead
>>3692371>>3692447>Umm it just isn't good because you don't have cute girls right away>*wags finger in your face*>breaks down like every other newfag narcissist who isn't immediately agreed withKill yourself, nigger.
>>3675522Have you played it or Wizardy XTH2?
>>3662917I know the Carmack quote is meme status at this point, but Interspecies Reviewers showed me that I can appreciate my smut with a followable plot and characters with unique motivations and personalities and shit. I would follow a porn TV series with a fantastic plot. Like Game of Thrones just make the sex scenes longer and even more frequent.
>>3692692>spergs out over people not interested in his homoerotic DRPGThe burden of needing to commit self kill lies solely upon you, my friend.
>>3687496So I’m gonna take that as a no I guess…
>>3692988Aside from mines and caves, there aren't that many DUNGEONS to explore in a Western setting.
>>3692989>mines>caves>outlaw camps>canyons>shanty towns>cacti mazes>trains>indian burial grounds>military forts>ghost towns>ranches>Mormon Elders’ Satanic TempleEtc. There’s plenty of different environments you can use. That’s not an actual problem
>>3692989>there aren't that many DUNGEONS to explore in a Western setting.
>>3692987Dev here, that wasn't my post you're replying to. It's okay if you don't like the art style or aren't interested. I just wanted to share the DRPG I'm working on, any sort of feedback is appreciated. Don't worry, not planning on spamming /vrpg/ with it or anything. I'll just post some videos and a link to the demo whenever it's ready.
Has anybody played the Madou Monogatari games? I tried a little but didn't get far, might come back to them since I'm a big Puyo Puyo fan.
>>3692982Now we need a DRPG set in the interspecies reviewers world.
>>3655312>to make it similar to the PS2 Wizardry games yet?you may as well just buy Five Ordeals and take advantage of all the custom campaigns (DLCs aren't worth it unless you HAVE to play other ps2 games)
>>3686695>>3692526>Encounter design is very bad. You're nearly always locked inside a small arena with multiple enemies. The enemies are also extremely tanky and you're not actually getting stronger over time, as enemies you fought in previous floors get stronger. My experience exactly. Looked kinda neat, then the gameplay kicked in and just was the same 1D arena where is forward or back, and the progression system is a scam, making you feel like you hit as a wet noodle for the entire game>And there's the exploration. Very few secrets and the game tends to block access to previous floors for no apparent reason. Not sure about this one, like they didn't copy any of the good parts of grimrock
>>3693228I watched a friend playing themThey are good fun, the corridors are all just walls of bricks thoughAlso one of the games is actually a fucking fighting game combo tier one, where your spells go in real time according to the moves you doIf you are a fan its a mustYou will just hear a lot of ITAIII and so on.
>>3693228I played a handful of them. Most are pretty generic though the mega drive Madou Monogatari was pretty good and is impressively feature rich for a niche game from its time.
>>3692413>>3692445>>3692692hm, very weird guy
Would you boys run his dungeon?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVKdHGYwqME
>>3695070Ho ho ho ho ho pick it up!
>>3693201Don't forget alien spaceships if you are leaning to more scifi.
>>3654824What the fuck is a DRPG
Are any of the Dragon Dropper titles worth playing or are they just shovelware?
>>3695399Dungeon rpg basically a first person dungeon crawler (usually on a grid). Its a classic subgenre kept alive by games like etrian odyssey and undernauts
>>3695415They're called BLOBBERS you goddamn stupid zoomer monkeys
>>3695422>trying to correct anyone with a forced westoid goyslop termlmfao
>>3695452>westoidWhere do you think the genre came from?
>>3695455not from your gay sex simulators thats for sure
space crawlers any good? scifi drpg sounds interesting not gonna lie
>-oomer>-oidNewfag containment thread?
>>3695468It's alright, especially for how dirt cheap you can usually get itImo it has some scaling issues later on where some classes with good equipment can demolish shit and others just can't keep up anymore if you don't have solid equipment
>>3675418I played class of heroes 2 for a long time in a effort to beat it but found it mind numbing boring. 99% encounters are piss easy. Theres a tiny difficulty jump with demons here and there but still boring asf. A 4/10 dungeon crawler. If 3's the same shit Im going to pass.
Been playing eo3 for the first time and been a while in b6f. Any tips for my current party? Its sovereign and monk on front while wildling zodiac and arbalist on back.
>>3695759What builds/skills are you using most of the time?
>>3695778Sovereign: the buffer and elemental attack enhancerMonk:healer with some damage attacksWildling:the bind and ailement putterZodiac:elemental attacker with dark ether on the sideArbalist:the pure damage dealer with element barrage skins to get threw huge hoards as possible.
>>3695781I would suggest moving the Monk to the back row, maybe swap with the Wildling. I have very little experience with Wildlings so no comment on that, but I think they're supposed to be decently bulky. Having a Monk in your party for on demand recovery leaves you less reliant on passive healing from the Princess, so you could go for maxed out Attack Order if you don't have it already, and ignore stuff like Protect Order and Monarch March or at least leave them for later. Regal Radiance is also really good with an Arbalist.
>>3695792Ah okay got it thanks.
>>3674473DT?
>>3695894You are a dog that feasts upon shit. I could rip off your face and wear it as a mask at a moron party.
>>3695399Weeaboo faggot speak for blobber since the more apt Dungeon Crawler got co-opted by shitty diablo clones

Do you guys think Project Moon's world work well for a etrian odyssey style drpg game? Their abnos even work well as FOEs
